He had already renewed the smite on his allies weapons but now he wanted to focus on their protection again.
As a free action he pulled in energy from the nexus.
He used the energy to cast Protection on himself, Tipolei, Ben and Kai. (Not sure I can target Anne and Chay in the vehicle.
Adding to the effect a shadowy hail of nightmares (Basically the Darkness -1 to being hit), And making the protection Toughness not armor.

The arcane power seems to briefly accelerate the creatures movements, but it does not attack any faster.
The sword sweeps in mightily and crashes into Ben's enhanced armor.
The first attack hits (10-1* vs Ben's Parry of 6), with no raise, and the second attack also hits with no raise (10-1* vs 6). (Ignore the extra d6s for damage)
* The shadowy armor makes it -1 to hit
Those do 26 and 19 damage respectively, before Toughness and enhanced armor. Ben has base Toughness of 6, +2 Toughness, not armor, from Cyber armor (also ignores gritty damage) had +8 Toughness from Kyron, so 16. That makes the 26 a success with two raises, and the 19 a success.
Ben will take 2 wounds plus 1 more unless he wants to try and Soak either.
