Chay clambers up on top of Echo and grabs the missile launcher, training it on the demon. Go to hell where it's hot! he shouts, and he fires the missile.

Ah! That helps. Hadn't realized Ben was basically fighting a giant. If I'm reading this right, a Called Shot is -2 to a limb. So, if I wanted Ben to try and rush around this thing, and hamstring it with his blade so it can't move very well, I'd roll as normal, and then apply a -2 penalty to whatever I get?Feb 18, 2020 2:54 pm
As Ben circles for an opportunity, trying to stay away from the burning fiery aura of Ana, they both find themselves lying on their backs. You both have the brief memory of a flash and then sliding and now everything is peaceful.

Ana was drained from the emotional outburst, laying there for several minutes before scrunching her face as she sat up, looking around despite the thumping in her head and the ringing in her ears.

The bright application of dragon fire speedily melts the structure. Great gouts of steam rise into the air as the young dragon hovers in the air, hosing the ice building in glorious flame. Huge chucks of ice collapse from the roof and fall into the steam. The walls buckle and crumble. Soon, the middle of the building had been reduced to slushy chunky ice slag, leaving a wing still standing to either side.
Within a dark-edged pulsing rift. Beyond you see a grey expanse flicker into view. The sky above it is black and glows with a benevolent form of aurora boealis, jagged purple and red lighting the grey snowy expanse below.
The rift, situated in a narrow river bed beneath the structure, is about fifty feet tall, and growing. Growing and becoming more clear.
Kyron feels the instability intensify. The demon they just killed must have been nursing it for its own purpose. If he can't gain control, it could crack wide open, or explode, or both.

Anyone trying to open or manipulate anything other than an Easy Rift, or anyone other than a Ley Line Walker trying to manipulate a Ley Line Rift, will have to spend at least 30 PPE (40 if it’s a Consuming or Explosive Rift) and make a Spellcasting skill roll at −4 (or −6 for Consuming or Explosive Rifts). Success allows the character to make a single change to the Rift; a raise allows two changes. The following changes are permitted:
- Open a Known Periodic Rift: Assuming the character knows her current location is the site of a Periodic Rift, she can open it. Opening such a Rift doesn’t guarantee any other aspects, though if a given Periodic Rift is fairly consistent in its Condition and other qualities, it is likely to stay true to those.
-Focus a Rift on a Specific Destination: If the Rift regularly has a given destination as part of its makeup, a single change can be applied to focus it on that place. This process cannot be used to force a Rift to connect to a location with which it doesn’t normally link; such power comes from very specific experience and training.
- Alter a Rift’s Condition: Most Rifts can be altered from their current Condition to (temporarily) Stable. Consuming and Explosive Rifts can only be shifted to Pulsing or Diminishing; the latter is an effective way to get rid of an otherwise destructive Rift.
-Alter a Rift’s Duration: A single change can raise or lower a Rift’s Duration by one level.
-Alter a Rift’s Switch Rate: A single change can raise or lower a Rift’s Switch Rate by one level.

Delicately putting Ana down in Echo, Tipolei takes his new shield and justice's hammer and walks toward the rift until he is a little past Kyron, making sure to be ready to intercept anything that could be coming out of it while Kyron does his work. You do what need done. Tipolei protect so Kyron be safe. Tipolei turns is attention back to the rifts, ready for anything...
