Episode 1 Scene 1a : The Arrival

Brindel wraps both of his hands around the drink. "That would be best. Just so you know, it is a private matter. Thank you for the Grug." Brindel nods toward Mamzrik and starts to walk to the group.

Shump mutters Holy Water Appears the thought didn't settle too well with him.

He says decisively, Good we leave soon, but morning better.

Kendra looks at the group and then at the Yroc.
One more song, this is my special song, one that Hanali (elven goddess of art) has taught me. Kendra continues to introduce the importance of this very song, while she plucks her lute. By the time she is ready to play, she has most of the inn's attention.

She sings and dances through the inn, and while no one can place a spell, there is a bit of magic in the air.

When she is done, she addresses the Yroc's again. "Now, somebody's son's. I need a drink, a snack and a chat with these gentlemen, before I sing again."

Kendra's song is awarded with a good resounding bit of Yroc chest pounding and whoops which all but drowns out the normal clapping provided by those not into using the Yroc expressions.

At the statement that she needs a drink her admirer hands her his tankard and at the request for a snack he quickly cuts off a bit of meat right off the spit and hands that to her. The steaming meat does not seem to bother him but Kendra can easily guess that it would probably be to hot for her to handle directly, however it does smell nice.

As the group sit down, Lex notices Brindel's axe as if for the first time. Ah! Feiend Brindel. Your axe! We need to go and find out more about it. Who were we to see? Kessel? Kendril? Kendra? No wait! She's here. Oh! he notices her precarious situation. Do you think she's ok?

Brindel approaches, still clutching his full mug of Grug. He says to Lex, "This crowd is exuberant, but I don't think Kendra is in any danger. We'll keep an eye on her. I am glad you found an empty table."

Brindel turns to Shump. "Greetings. My name is Brindel Truehand. I apologize for being late. I was held up," he says, not realizing how literal his last sentence was.

He turns back to Lex, "So, what did I miss? And where are the others?"

Big Shump says as he shumps on a barrel chair. Waiting him here to decide to leave now or wait for morning give more light.

Brindel speaks to Shump while keeping an eye on Kendra. "Morning would be better so we can get some rest in a bed that's not the cold earth. And I prefer daylight myself when traveling in unfamiliar territory."

"Say, are you our guide?"

Shump looks over to Brindel. I'm Shump and your guide to the tower. He is simple about say it. Odd races about don't seem to affect Shump at all. He does however seems to like the music.

Brindel notices Shump's enjoyment and says, "That is Kendra. She is a wonderful performer, isn't she? She didn't get too many chances to play on our journey here so it is nice for her to let loose. I have not seen her play in front of a crowd this size before."

He then turns to Lex, "Friend Lex, the axe is important and I appreciate your interest, but we can wait until this first mission is done to investigate further."

Alright then. If you insist. The axe is yours and I will give way to our judgement Lex, looks a little disappointed at missing out on doing a puzzle. Well, if that is all gentlemen, shall we retire? Adventure awaits the first rays of dawn!

I be ready in the morning. You can inform Kendra I like her singing. Shump abandons his barrel and moves off. Appears he has other things to do and will reappear in the morning here.

Brindel nods good-bye to Shump and turns to Lex. "Lex, I promise I"ll need your help with the mysteries of the axe in the future. Right now, I'm worried about what happened to the others. Do you know where they are? We have to make sure everything is ready for tomorrow."
