How To Create Your Hero

These are the steps and guidelines for building your hero.

1. Pick your playbook.
Choose the playbook that fits your fancy from the Star Wars World PDF, with some notes:

● You can start the game with Force training, but not Jedi/Sith training. This does not mean that you can't eventually be a Jedi/Sith, but that will have to happen in the game. In light of this, the following playbooks are not allowed for starting characters: the Consular, the Guardian, and the Sentinel.

● You can't be officially affiliated with any of the vital organizations, such as the New Republic, the Resistance, and the First Order - at least, not currently. If you were ever officially a member at one time, you no longer are, and haven't been for some time.

● We need characters with heroics in their hearts. You need to have some motivation to fight to maintain peace in the galaxy. That doesn't mean you can't change motivations later in the game, but you have to start motivated.

● Notes on the playbooks:

[ +- ] The Gearhead
[ +- ] The Medic

...

2. Create your character thread.
Create a new thread in the Heroes folder, and give it a title in the format Hero Name | The Playbook. So, a title of "Han Solo | The Scoundrel" would work.

3. Reserve the 1st post for the character sheet.
This will have the details according to the sheet for your selected playbook, such as Look, Stats, and Moves, to name a few. Please include a profile image for your character. We have a template for it here.

You can also create a GP character sheet if you'd like, so that you can make game posts in character, but that is not required. This 1st post in your character thread will be considered as your official character sheet for this game.

4. Reserve the 2nd post for the character's backstory.
List questions that you think might be pertinent for your character, and answer those questions in your character's voice. The GM might have additional questions later - add them and answer them here as well. If you come up with more backstory details later, just keep adding them to this 2nd post so that all of the backstory information is kept in one spot.

Some things you might consider:
● The adventure starts on Jakku. Are you a local? Are you based here, or just visiting?
● You are responding to a call for help/services from a local group of nomads under one Misha Vontoba. Are you a member of that group? If not, are you on good terms with them? Have you even heard of them?
● All of the heroes will start the game knowing each other, perhaps even working together. Try not to fix your entire backstory in stone at the very beginning - we will need some space to weave all of the heroes' backstories together.

5. The rest of the thread is for anything else.
Have any questions regarding your character specifically? Maybe you have additional information about the character that you'd like to stow somewhere? You can do those stuff - and anything else, really - in your Character Thread, from the third post onward.

6. Let the GM know when you're done.
Until you let the GM know that you're done, the character will be considered to be a work in progress. Only completed characters will be considered for the game.
