OOC:
Wu made 3 hits, but Eunbyeol defended with 4 his, so net hits is -1, it's a miss.
Wu kicked wildly, more to leverage himself away than to do any real damage. He was clad only in boxers, with his robe flung open, which didn't help his movement to get away. Eunbyeol focussed her attention solely on him, not on the two girls, and was easily on top of him with her attack.
OOC:
I think your AR might be 10. Reaction + Strength + Improved Reflexes. Wu's DR is 5, which gives you 1 Edge to use or store. For unarmed combat, roll Close Combat + Agility.

OOC:
Yep, I missed the ref to Reaction in Imp Ref. I'll save the Edge. And I will use it here to reroll one of those ones. ... And I now realize I miscounted the ones so that didn't do anything helpful, but oh well.

Rolls

Attack - (9d6)

(123161313) = 21

1-edge spend - reroll - (1d6)

(5) = 5

Eunbyeol managed to skillfully launch herself at Wu, and her punch connected as Wu continued to dart forward towards his room, but barely hurt him. Eunbyeol realised why he was headed there, to grab his gun! Wu crossed the bedroom door into the bedroom, and there he went to an armchair where he had left his clothes and weapon before trying to duck behind the armchair to gain some cover.
OOC:
2 hits from Eunbyeol's attack, 2 hits from Wu's defence, net 0 hits. So no need to roll for damage.
Next turn. Wu takes the Move action, the Pick Up Object action, and the Take Cover action. (minor, major, minor). Let me know if you need an imagined layout of the bedroom. Think large swanky hotel bedroom. Otherwise it's back to Eunbyeol!

Rolls

Wu's Defence pool - (5d6)

(13654) = 19

Eunbyeol gave chase once she realized what he was going for, and followed right behind him, deftly sidestepping the detritus left in his wake. She didn't draw her gun though. She wasn't here to kill him. Yet. "I'll take that gun. That ought to make up for some of your tab." She attacked, spearing a foot out to try to catch him in an inconvenient spot in his midsection.
OOC:
Saving my edge. Pointless to use it now.

Rolls

Attack (Unarmed) - (9d6)

(113313152) = 20

OOC:
Two posts coming. This first post rectifies my comment about 'no need to roll for damage'. I am reminded, in the case of ties, favour the aggressor. The Damage Value of Eunbyeol's unarmed combat damage is S/2+net hits = 2. I must roll Wu's Body. 1 hit on the Body roll means 1 net hit for damage. Wu takes 1 Stun damage, 1 box checked.

Rolls

Wu's Body - (3d6)

(235) = 10

OOC:
It's Wu's turn to attack, so I'll hold off your attack roll for now. But, going by the spirit of your post, if you're thinking of disarming him, read both the Block action, p41, as well as Edge actions, p47-48, specifically Wrest (Block). You've used 1 Major action, Attack, and 1 Minor action, Move, which leaves you 1 more Minor action which you haven't used, and Block (A) means you can use it anytime.
Wu reached his gun, and swiftly turned around to try to pop one at the aggressive Eunbyeol.
OOC:
AR8 at Close range vs Eunbyeol's DR7, so no Edge. Go ahead and roll your Defence pool.

Rolls

Wu's Attack (Firearms + Agility) - (6d6)

(412526) = 20

Mar 10, 2020 4:41 pm
OOC:
I will use Block, and use 2 edge to do the wrest if I'm successful, going to paste the text below so I do it right. Wrest (Block): When in melee combat, if you successfully Block an attack, you can use this action to wrest your opponent’s weapon away. Roll Close Combat + Agility, with the attacker’s Strength as the threshold. If you equal the threshold, you knock the weapon out of their hands, and it falls to the ground. If you get more hits, you take the weapon from them. If you get fewer hits, the attacker retains the weapon. Cost: 2 Edge.

4 hits, Block looks successful, rolling to grab the gun. 4 hits there.

Rolls

Defense Pool - (12d6)

(632334162531) = 39

Additional Block dice - (3d6)

(251) = 8

Wrest - (9d6)

(616362345) = 36

OOC:
Very nice. I'm interpreting Wrest more liberally, because it's meant for melee combat, but Wu had 'initiated' ranged combat. In this situation it makes sense to treat it as melee rather than range. The threshhold based on Wu's Strength is 3.
Wu whirled around to fire point blank at Eunbyeol, but she saw that coming a mile away, and even as he swung his gun out towards her, she grabbed his hand with both hers and, with a deft move, twisted the pistol out of his grasp even as his shot fired wide. His gun was now with her!
OOC:
Your turn. What will you do?
Mar 12, 2020 4:39 pm
She holds the gun properly.... mostly. her stance is correct, but her finger's in the trigger. He has to know what will happen if she's accidentally forced to fire. "Are we done yet? I just came for the money you forgot to pay. This goes on much longer and it turns into money you stole. When that happens, I'm out, and the club calls in people who know how to clean up blood." She's ready to start this all over again if he wants to, but she's not initiating anything further just yet.

"Now." She kicks the phone over to him. "Call the front desk and tell them you got carried away with the roleplay."
Mar 13, 2020 12:15 pm
"Alright that's enough of that. Lone Star, that's the cops to you. Drop the gun and put your hands up. You too Wu." A female voice from behind spoke loudly and clearly. Eunbyeol could see on Wu's face a visible expression of surprise at who it was that issued the command.
Mar 13, 2020 3:43 pm
Eunbyeol didn't understand the English at all, but knew the tone. So she assumed that her earlier assumption that one of the women was a bodyguard was correct. "Your pretty girl wants you to grow holes. Tell her to stay out of it."
Mar 14, 2020 11:28 am
With two weapons pointed at him, Wu raised his hands, muttering something about stupid c**ts in English under his breath. "Badge, cop, police, 警方, 경찰. You're in trouble now bitch."

"Sounds like you're ignoring me or not understanding what I'm saying." The voice behind Eunbyeol continued in English. "Tell her to put her gun down."
Mar 16, 2020 3:20 pm
Was this a trick? Possibly. Possibly not. Eunbyeol ran down her options. On the one hand, she put her gun down, the woman wasn't a cop, and she got shot for her trouble. On the other hand, she put her gun down and got arrested. Her SIN wasn't fooling anyone who took a long look at it. If she did that, it would almost definitely result in her deportation. On the third hand, if she didn't put her gun down, she'd be in a firefight for sure. She didn't want to put holes in local law-enforcement, and she didn't want holes herself. Too bad she had this loser's gun and not her own that was loaded with shock rounds. Could she get to her own quick enough? There was only one way to find out.
OOC:
How many light sources in this room?
Mar 17, 2020 1:17 pm
OOC:
Lage hotel bedroom, so two tall tube-shaped table lamps on either side of the bed. Two built-in ceiling lights with various lurid colour settings. Recessed lighting along the walls, for 'mood'. Light also streaming in from the bedroom doorway. Your shooting the lights out option might be tough.
Mar 17, 2020 4:22 pm
"No." This is in English, and one of the few words probably everyone knows, along with, "Money." She nods at Wu. "Then I leave, and she can have you. Or I shoot you for not paying, then she can have you."

"Persistent. Not a jealous ex then. You're just full of drek aren't you Wu." The voice behind seemed to draw her conclusions about the relationship between this intruder and Daniel Wu. It was a short little stand off, whose circumstances changed by the arrival of others. Eunbyeol heard the main door open, and a number of heeled boots enter the hotel room. Seconds later, it sounded like at least two or three more people came into the bedroom. It was either hotel security, or the woman must've radioed for reinforcements.

"Put the gun down." A new voice, male, who spoke first Japanese, then Mandarin, with a slight UCAS Los Angeles accent. "You're not in trouble. Yet."
Mar 19, 2020 1:14 pm
Eunbyeol doesn't go quite that far, but she does take a step back, and stop covering Wu. The new voice is quite obviously speaking from authority, the type of authority you get in one of two ways -- with a badge, or with a bodycount. Either way, he was clearly more dangerous than she wanted to go up against right now.

She responded in Mandarin. "I'm just here because he owes Dis money. I get a cut if I can recover any of his debt. I didn't draw a weapon."
Mar 19, 2020 2:44 pm
"You're an over-enthusiastic collector, I get it. But nothing good is going to happen unless you put that gun away." The voice continued. A holo-beam from his cyber-eye mount beamed his credentials in front of Eunbyeol, so that she could see for herself where she stood. Richard Crenn, National Security Branch, UCAS. While law-enforcement was outsourced to private corp companies like Lone Star, this agent operated beyond that; he clearly had federal jurisdiction. Something huge had to be going on here, far beyond a low-life businessman like Daniel Wu warranted.
Mar 19, 2020 3:10 pm
Eunbyeol shrugged, and hooked the gun into the thin belt of her dress, behind her back. It wasn't much of a holster, but it'd do for now. "Can I go now?"
OOC:
Are his car keys anywhere in sight that she could maybe palm on her way out?

Also, the new version of her sheet hasn't been approved yet, so I can't post as her.
Mar 19, 2020 3:28 pm
OOC:
Argh, forgot about that. Done.
"Not so fast. Lone Star here still has jurisdiction. Trespass. Assault. She'll want to see some ID and licenses." The man spoke matter-of-factly, but the Lone Star policewoman in the skintight outfit was much more brusque in handling Enubyeol, having been slighted by her. She didn't speak to Eunbyeol, having no language in common, but held out a standard security scanner so that Enubyeol could present her commlink for identification.
OOC:
Let me know if you're going to use your fake SIN.
