hello all, I'm pretty new to this board and am excited to start playing. I saw there's one shadowrun game on here but unfortunately it was full before I even heard of this site. I would really like to play a decker concept I've been playing around with for months and I'm hoping someone on these boards is willing to run a shadowrun game. normally I'd run one, but I've been GMing D&D, shadowrun, and star wars for so long I feel like I need a break and an opportunity to be a player once again.

looking forward to playing something!

Have you ever tried Savage Worlds? Also if you wanted to try would you like playing a Spy?

I've never run a game of Shadowrun, and had I the time, I would, but dev on this site eats a lot of my free time. I'll be tweeting about this to try to get a prospective GM and sommore players. Maybe I'll even play! I'd definitely love to see more Shadowrun hete; it's one of my favorite settings.

The Savage Worlds article on Wikipedia is pretty solid for details. Savage Worlds is both a system and setting, which uses playing cards to determine various random factors (and dice, always dice :p). The system is used in a number of settings, all of which are pretty awesome.

Are you hinting around at starting a Night's Black Agents game? If so, I'd be interested ;)

The Pinnacle Entertainment Group's website also has free rules for basic things. The spy setting would be Agents of Oblivion. Nights Back Agent is run under a totally different system. No interest in running/playing, sorry.

Also link to the area for Agents of Oblivion.

I was trying to run a Shadowrun 5e game a few months ago, but nobody actually made any characters. If there's enough interest, I can try to revive the game. Any takers?

how many people would have to play in the game for you to feel you're not wasting your time?

I have a copy of the 5e rules, but I haven't looked them over. You can count me as a player if a game starts up.

so far, three people that are interested in playing, and maybe a fourth (I'm trying to sway a friend right now). I say we can take a chance and do this soon!

Like CancerMan, I have the 5E rules but have not spent a lot of time with them. If you're still looking for people I'll sign up.

is that enough to get started? I'm all excited now!

Given we have growing interesting, for now, I'm gonna bow out, as I wanna dedicate whatever free time I have to getting GP shored up, as well as a TON of features I'm falling behind on. In addition, with NerdUnfiltered having started his PbP game that will eventually become a radio drama, I wanna try to get in some features to support that. Plus 2 systems currently requested, the redesign, and the recode. And the podcast I'm working on, promoting GP, and a potential new app design project from someone else that would help me get started on an app for GP.

Do I have enough on my plate? We'll see...

are there any reddit groups or something that would be a good place to post this?

I have never played Shadowrun before, but the setting seems really cool. If there is room for more players i would love to play.

I've been reading the huge ass corebook for 5E, I love the setting. I plan on runnin games once I figure out how to actually play. What I want to do is to have a pseudo job listing, and then anyone with a 5E character can apply for the job. I'll post an ad for it when I eventually figure out everything...

@ Handle
Playing will give you a good idea on how the system mechanics work or watching the game if you subscribe. With 5E they did away with pluses and minuses to the target number things either add to your dice pool or take away. Personally I think for a long campaign Magic based PCs and Technomancers are open ended while pure cyber based characters have a hard cap on tech. Both sides of the coin are fun to plain and easy to kill though in a fire fight.

From the looks of things if everyone is still interested Paladin Revenant has 3-5 players (Darthoingoboingo, CancerMan, Szemely, Fennec, & Handle)
