What is the starting equipment or credit to start with ?
Jan 24, 2020 9:17 pm
Updated the character creation guidelines but basically 1500 Credits

Also is this about what you were thinking about for an advance starting point --- I choose 5 adventures as seemed like a good jump start without being too much but that is just my opinion and nothing more (aka totally arbitrary)

Its perfect with me. Just eanted to have a boost more than fresh off the start. I know its big credit eide but if force user, can we have a lightsaber to start with or you prefer later in game?
Jan 25, 2020 12:20 am
If you plan to be a Jedi then we should talk about that some as I need to understand your origin -- keep in mind that a lightsaber is usually a personal item created by a Jedi (or handed down) and is as much a badge of competency as it is a weapon -- they are also a major tell that one is a Jedi as no one would use such a dangerous weapon with out force skill and while not as bad prior to Episode 6 there are still lingering elements such as bounties out on Jedi's in general that are still collectible

I know what kind of problem can come from this specific item. But yes i was looking intomaybe making a force user.
As of now it would be as follow: During the rebellion part i was with them fighting on diverse battle and was badly injured during one of our mission. While uncounscious i had visions that showed me in vision different places tied to the force/jedi. I spend my time following these clues. As the Death Star was destroyed i was on the illum planet reaching for the call of my khyber crystal. On illum i had found a damaged holocron that once repaired showed me couples if the teaxging and basic plan for a lightsaber.

Or you know something like that.

(DIT: (Holocron being standard, not the one that gives skills or bonuses, pure RP holocron with plans for lightsabers and basic of the teaching of the jedi.)

Okay I can work with that and help you craft a deeper story and give you a mentor if you like -- I would strongly suggest not going to Ilum as part of your story though because since the Jedi purge it was turned into an Empire strip mining base and then later the First Order would turn it into a long range planet killer --- this all means that there is a very heavy empire presence on the planet Ilum

But I got your story background idea I am sure I can piece together something suitable -- does that sound viable? Of course this does not mean I would be opposed with you creating some alternative story and/or supplying other ideas that you think might make your background more fun for you.
Jan 25, 2020 1:20 am
No i dont mind at all and i cometely forgot the empire take over of illum. But yeah we can work on something along those line. I am open to let help you help me :) . What would be ok and fit into your idea for this?

EDIT: I could also RP force sensitive spec for the step she took in her life.

Okay so you mentioned you would be good with playing a Force Sensitive I think that will work well for the game so let us go with that.

Next I am going to dropping you on the planet Eadu (north of Hutt Space) where you met your mentor.

Ir'cara'suhl a female Duinuogwuin "Star Dragon" Force Master. She is about 70 feet long, with golden scales and eyes. But your character gets the feeling that she does not see through those eyes as a human would. Further she never talks about her past, simply focusing on the here and now both of which seem to be a bit fluid with her.

Eadu (pronounced /ˈiːduː/) is a storm-stricken, rugged, mountainous planet located in the Eadu system of the Outer Rim Territories' Bheriz sector. This remote, blue-hued world is shrouded in gloomy lightning filled rainstorms, buffeted by constant winds, and plagued by frequent lightning strikes. The planet's cloud cover is so thick that it appears to be a night world even in the daytime. Starships attempting to reach the surface of the planet are confronted with clouds the mire visibility, gales that battered the ship and the lightning storms that play absolute havoc with the sensor systems. To say landing on Eadu is not easy would be vast understatement. Further the surface is mostly comprised of difficult, rain swept terrain which affords the planet natural defenses, although in the southern hemisphere there exist fairly large flat grassy plateau where an Eaduan village cluster exits populated by native nerf herders. Every where else the ground is broken made up of jagged rock formations, broad mesas, black stone ridges, and narrow spires. The rocky canyons bottom out in dozens of writhing stream beds. The planet's rain has the smell of fecund soil with an undertone of acrid stink. So for the most part the planet is little-known save for its excessive rainfall and population of native nerf herders.

However it did host at one time the Eadu Energy Conversion Laboratory. A empirical facility that worked on top secret projects prior to the outbreak of the Galactic Civil War. This empirical laboratory is simply an abandoned half destroyed mountain facility now. One that still houses quite a bit of kyber crystals for anyone bold (or foolhardy) enough to attempt to get some. Of course the native nerf hearders have no need for these and never venture any where near it. Still this is where your character went through a trial to gain the kyber crystals that she needed in order to make her golden-hued lightsaber.

So how did she get there, well in an escape pod that had gone way off course. Basically as stated she was on a mission that did not go well and being hotly pursued by empire forces several hyper jumps later and she and others fled the dying ship in escape pods while someone took it into hyperspace one more time to get the pursuing empire forces to follow. It sort of worked. They did get the empire forces to follow and miss the escape pods buy your characters escape pod had been damaged and malfunctioned and you were jettisoned just as the ship jumped. Escape pods are not meant for hyperspace and bodies were not meant to handle the kind of massive fluctual distortion that is created one when one gets jettisoned into and out of hyperspace in mere seconds. Your character blacked out. While out she dreamed which she would later come to understand were actually force visions. However she has had trouble recalling these visions and has been told that when the time was right she would be reminded. All she knows though is that she woke up in her escape pod on one of planets broad mesas. She then made it to a nearby cave where she eventually encountered her mentor.

Time spent with your rather enigmatic mentor were not easy but they were instructional. Although things that she says sometimes do not make a lot of sense to you and while the events leading up to you getting here a not something you remember well their just seems to be major incongruencies when you try to connect the dots. For instance Eadu is not friendly to landing starships and yet your damaged escape pod a much more inferior ship landed safely. Further while you are not sure how far the hyperspace jumps had been, and you cannot quite remember where you were prior to those jumps, you are pretty sure Eadu was like no where near where you had gotten jettisoned. Of course the anomaly of getting jettisoned into hyperspace itself could explain some of that it seems like it would be a major stretch to accredit all of it to that.

Okay would like to hear your thoughts and feed back on that -- not nothing is written in stone so if you want to tweak something we can
Jan 25, 2020 6:30 am
Wow, well its pretty much well in placed and will create around these ideas. I kinda love the way i didn't "choose" the way the Force reached to me. I will create the bg with all these info.

Crunch wise:
do i have a lightsaber (gold color)?
Do i have the mentor starting perk?
Do i start on Eadu or elsewhere?

Awesome concept really loving it.
Jan 25, 2020 8:02 am
Yes you have a Gold Colored Lightsaber assuming you pick it up as part of your gear

Yes you should acquire the Mentor starting perk per the normal rules

Yes you are starting on Eadu -- although I may move you in order to bring everyone together but that will greatly depend on how it all works out -- still not sure what everyone else is playing --- Are you aware of the stigma that goes along with Nerf Herders? Which btw as denoted is all that Eadu is known for... well that and really bad weather
Jan 25, 2020 8:18 am
I dont have the credit to pay for the saber...

Also the stigma about the nerf? Not sure what you mean. (Sorry but english is my second language. First is french)

There is a famous quote from Star Wars when Leia says to Han "Why you stuck-up, half-witted, scruffy-looking... nerf herder!"
To which Han replies "Who’s scruffy-lookin’?"

So basically a Nerf Herder is not only known for being scruffy-looking like a Nerf but also uncouth and surly like one as well as stinking like them too. So basically Nerf Herders are looked upon as lesser beings. Btw that entire planet kind of resembles the smell of Nerfs

What's a Nerf
Nerfs were large quadrupeds characterized by their four, curved horns and shaggy coats of fur. The common nerf stood about 1.3 meters at the shoulder. Their mass of hair tangled easily, creating a perfect web for insects and foreign objects to cling to. Thus, they carried around a pungent odor. Nerfs often chewed their cud, creating excessive spittle that further added to their disgusting image. The spit was sticky, black in color, and near-impossible to remove from clothing. Their saliva also had acidic qualities, and could cause burns if it landed on exposed skin.

Note I have updated the Character Creation Parameters -- as the Force and Destiny book actually covers this and I was not too far form the mark -- everyone is basically making what the game calls a Knight-Level character -- thus you get 150 XP and either 1 Lightsaber --or-- 9,000 Credits worth of gear
Jan 25, 2020 3:07 pm
So yeah i knew about the nerfs line what the beast are in the end. Alao the Force works in musterious way so yeah ill deal with the smells/rain/thunder.

I will look into career and species now.
Jan 25, 2020 7:18 pm
In the book Collapse of the Republic. There is a sidebar that let as optional rules the following : you can start with a Force rating of 2 for 30xp that need to be purshase with character xp. Are we allowed to use it?
Also is the Chiss species ok with you?

The race comes from Enter the Unknown
Or for quick reference : https://star-wars-rpg-ffg.fandom.com/wiki/Chiss
Jan 25, 2020 10:02 pm
Okay and you might (assuming you have not) want to read THIS as well.

And I am good with the race -- however
Quote:
Force-sensitivity, referred to as the Sight by the Chiss, was incredibly rare and manifested in limited abilities, namely precognition which was Third Sight and telepathy, which was known as Second Sight. These Force-sensitive Chiss were almost always female.
So with this in mind not only are you incredibly rare to begin with you have now crossed into nearly infinitely rare -- NOTE I am not saying no to this but I am saying what you can do might be the first and only one of your race to be able to do this.

Now with that said I am wondering if you know that Anakin Skywalker is believed to have been an immaculate conception by the Force in response to some extreme meddling going on by a Dark Sith --- thus perhaps the Force as chosen you for a reason beyond just being a Jedi
