DeJoker sent a note to Redbarron219
Feb 19, 2020 8:19 am
"All the ships I fly get the job done. Guess there is a common factor there."

As Zane talks to Gakli he moves onto the ship and straight to the cockpit.

Okay waiting for the new arrival to arrive but I have also posted the Epoch Raven for you consumption :)

On his way to the cockpit, Zane throws his kit bag into the single cabin. It lands with a surprisingly heavy thump.

It doesn't look like the deck plans are shared correctly, at least I can't see them. I was waiting to make a post about "claiming a room" until I could, lol. Then I got busy with work. It's ok, Kala will yell at Zane shortly about that...

OOC:
That was my hope :)

Okay I think it has been fixed try it again -- it just sounded like Cavalier was able to see the map but I guess they went off the Legend. There are actually 2 Single Rooms though and their is a Double/Triple room at the back of the cockpit module as well and frankly until you get more than 4 people on board besides Galki those Double/Triples are going to be used as singles.

Note I had to play with the original schematics a bit as the ship design says it has a crew of 2 and passenger capacity of 6 for a total of 8 but the original deck plan had room for only 5 individuals total not sure where they were housing those other 3 individuals

Gakli's room is a double-decker room that was converted from a storage room it has a three-foot high door and you step down into the room this thus actually allows for an additional person not that you will have that many on board but ya never know ;)

Amalie approached the Nova Courier model freighter with a look of barelly disgusied disdain. Not at the mission and, in truth, not at the ship itself. As far as she could remember it had decent raeviews and ratings in the market. No, Amalie just had an ingrained dislike of ships not designed by Kuat Shipyards. It wasn't really fair, per say, but Amalie couldn't help but look at a ship and think We would have done it better.

Still, now was not the time to be distracted by idle thoughts. She had been assigned to a mission at last. It had felt like some time since she'd been given leave to do some work, though in reality it hadn't been all that long. Amalie was a girl of action though, and waiting for the rebellions internal affairs, the equivalent to the Empire's ISB, to go over her mission debrief's every time was frustrating for the young woman.

She supposed it was to be expected. Amalie had only recently left the Imperial Navy and was tied to a prominent Imperial Company. She'd earn their trust eventually. For now, she would take the assignment she got. Luckilly, she'd be working with her friend Kala. Well, friend may be somewhat familiar but they had been on several missions together and been friendly. In the end, you can't help but think of the soldier next to you in a shootout as a friend when it's all said and done.

Her steps were crisp as she came up the ramp. Amalie went from nobility to military life and nearly everything about her spoke to it. Her posture, her movements, even her outfit cried out that this woman was raised in the upper crusts of society.

"Hello Kala. It's been a bit hasn't it. I do hope you remember me." Her core world accent was clear and liliting, holding a genuine affection for Kala under it's polished tones. "It seems I've been assigned to this mission a bit last minute." Amalie Shrugs and reaches up to adjust the hair clip that disgusies her BPEA-1A Cascader out of nevouse habit. She lowers her voice to be playfully conspiratorial "I'd been pestering the Commander to get me out of the base and working and it turned out you were a man down. No worries about rank, the Commander made it clear you're in overall command of the mission."

She held out her hand to shake, a warm smile on her face. "I'm looking forward to working with you again. I believe you'll find I'm a much better shot than last time." The last quip was said with a bit of a smirk, as if sharing in an old joke.

OOC:
Sorry about that hold up. This week got a little crazy. But here's a nice long one to help introduce Amalie

I was going from the Legend. Apologies if there was any confusion. I thought that 17 (the one in the cockpit) was a single from the Legends description. Happy to retcon to Zane throwing his gear into that room.

Kalavera was still standing near the entrance of the ship, just looking in the direction that Zane had gone, presumptuously tossing his bag into one of the nicer rooms without a care. She was wondering if she should say something about it, or let the matter slide. She was just leaning towards the latter, she'd slept in worse quarters over her time with the Rebellion, when a voice behind her startled her back to the present. Turn around she's pleasantly surprised to see a familiar face strolling onto the ship. With a genuine smile creeping onto her lips she reached out to take Amalie's proffered hand and shake it firmly. With a quiet laugh at the other's joke, she shakes her and says, "Amalie, by the grace of the Force, it's good to see you still alive and kicking. It has been sometime, though, so I hope you're a better shot than before."

Turning, and gesturing the other woman to walk deeper into the ship with her, Kala continues, "And never you worry about rank, you know it's not something I ever cared much about. I only accepted the promotion they offered me because they kept pestering me about it. Come on, we're about to lift off, I'll introduce you to the others. We'll be happy to have someone with your skills with us. How much did the Commander tell you about the mission?"

Tossing her own gear into one of the other open single rooms, Kala gestured for Amalie to do likewise as they went in search of Zane and Gakli.
OOC:
Regarding the quarters, I was mostly joking, lol. Glad to see you joining us, Red. Looking forward to getting this show on the road for Formos.

Amalié walked alongside Kalavera, arms clasped behind her back and her deep blue cloak trailing behind her. Her thoughts touched briefly on the other woman's use of the pejorative of "The Force". It wasn't something she held much stock in herself but she had grown used to her friends faith in the old religion.

Leaning slightly forward to catch Kala's eye in her peripheral vision Amalié answered her questions. "It's good that you finally did accept. I seem to recall your intial refusal on our last mission. I said then that the Alliance needs good leaders when they can get them."

Deciding to relent Amalié resumed her impecable posture "But I digress. The Commander was characteristically vague about the mission, in fact. Irritating, but I suppose it's his want. We are to fly to Formos, make contact with some sort of informant, ascertain the validity of their information and take appropriate action as we deem. Well, I suppose as you deem, but that's neither here nor there."

OOC:
Okay @Cavalier please retcon if you are planning on doing so because currently your gear is in one of the single rooms which are not in the cockpit module

Gakli's high pitched voice was even higher as he poked his head out of the engineering bay, "We're going where!?"
Feb 23, 2020 9:58 am
"Formos. Zane knows that bit already. As I said, once we're in hyperspace I'll fill in the rest of the details. If we're cleared to depart, Zane, take us away at your leisure, please." Kala called out towards the cockpit as she turned and took a quick tour of the ship. It wasn't fancy, but then again, it didn't need to be, and in fact, being less fancy would help them blend in more, which was something she definitely approved of. Not knowing much about ships, her quick look over was more to ensure that all the necessary supplies had been loaded rather than appraisal of the ship itself. She suspected that the Commander wouldn't have assigned them Gakli if he didn't know how to do his job and she was willing to trust in that.

Zane completes the start-up sequence and as the engines fire up he activates the internal comms:

"This is your milk run to Formos. The destruction of the galactic government may interfere with your flight today. The New Rebel Republic Alliance apologises for any inconvenience caused. Now strap in and hold on tight to any valued belongings."

As he completes the last word Zane punches the throttle.

Okay I deleted that message to remove the dice but forgot you had text within it -- my bad and my apologies however I think you can either add that to your current post with a minor edit or just leave it as it is up to you -- again my apologies
The internal motion dampeners compensate for the initial thrust as Zane lifts off, shoots out, moves off planet and begins heading to a point where it will be safe for him to engage the hyperdrive giving him time to plot the hyperspace coordinates he was going to be using for their flight. For a rather unimpressive looking freighter Zane is pleasantly surprised to find out that it handles about as good as a Y-Wing and, although configured differently, with about the same amount of firepower as well.

Kalavera chuckles as Zane gets on the comms just before taking off and continues her quick tour of the ship, wrapping up in the cabin she'd claimed as her own. Quickly sorting out her gear, she stowed it in rapid order, well used to both the packing and unpacking aspects of having been part of a mobile rebel cell. By the time she was getting the last of her gear put away, she felt the ships hyperdrive kick on and felt the unmistakable shift that meant they'd jumped to light speed. She had asked, subtly, throughout her time in the Rebellion, and while most people noticed something, be it the engines spinning up, or a subtle lurch in the shift, no one else she'd encountered had Sensed the shift to hyperspace quite like she did. Putting it off as her long, nearly forgotten Jedi sensitivities, Kala hit the intercom button in her room and said, "Good work, Zane, come join us in the lounge once you've got everything settled in for the trip up there, ok? Everyone else, head to the ship's lounge and I'll give you information about what we're going to be doing for the foreseeable future..."
Feb 26, 2020 9:12 am
"Prepare to jump to light speed"

Again, just as Zane gives the warning he punches the light speed controls.

He hears Kala's message across the com, double checks the ship's nav computer and saunters through to the lounge.

Looking at Kala, checking for rank insignia, he grins and asks:

"So, what are we blowing up in the name of peace this week?"
Feb 27, 2020 11:30 pm
Spending a little time printing out some flimsies with the picture of their contact and other information, Kalavera looks up as she hears folks moving into the lounge area. Smiling she gestures for everyone to take a seat before standing up. Handing out the sheets to Gakli, Zane, and Amalie, Kala moves to where she address the group with craning her neck too far before saying, "At the moment, no one Zane. For the first part of this mission we're simply doing some recon work. The Rebellion, New Republic, whatever we're going to call ourselves from here out, got some information from a contact on Formos. The quality of the intel is suspect as this is a new contact. So we're being sent to meet with this guy, a Duros named Banu, and see what sort of information he has. Once we have it, we'll check it out and see if it's something that the higher ups want to take action on. Any questions?"

"Okay, okay we go to Formos but Gakli he stay on ship while we there, he no like Formos. It not a nice place, especially to his species, heck the entire Hutt Space is very unkind to his species probably worse place for Gakli to go. So you have good luck on your mission and know that the ship will be ready to leave at a moments notice or sooner."
