I'm a bit confused by how that works. From my reading of the military rules, I would lose a d6, and they would lose a d6 in addition to having a d6 reduced to a d4.Scymira [Game Thread]

Aiming for surprise, the armies of House Fugue that were secretly shipped in by House Maa-talia attacked Gasharde, streaming out of the dense forests near the capital.
The outer defenses of the capital did their job, allowing Gasharde to pick off a fair amount of Fugue's army using their higher position, but the surprise attack didn't allow them to prepare some of their defense measures, such as boiling oil.
The sheer number of soldiers, along with the advantage of the surprise attack, allowed Fugue to break through. Currently Gasharde's defense is in a poor state.

Fugue: Gasharde is almost certainly gathering forces for a counterattack, but perhaps it doesn't have to come to that. You're in a position to introduce your demands and see what happens.

As the initial attack on Gasharde's capital concludes, a letter from Fugue arrives at the lap of the ruler.
It neatly and simply outlines the purpose behind the attack and the demands Fugue is making.

Probably will have to face the royal house soon, so might need to request the support of other houses, especially those that helped in the action. They called upon their supporters and other 'loyal houses' to join them as they prepared to march west to 'stabilize the region'. Sheono, Borovopos, Osberg, Zubech, and Reyas joined the cause.
Ala, Sellelenar, Mytheas and Halas remained neutral for the moment.
Irave and Omaa refused outright, and Namelle, who was so dependant on the royal house for military anyway, had nothing to send.
Everything seemed to be gearing up to a massive civil war... and then a third front appeared. Gundukzar, Kirad, and Vsere, proclaimed themselves independant of the royal house, and set up a Free Council of the Headlands. Suddenly, Kiralyi had an ACTUAL rebellion to handle as well.
And then the Tamer plague rose. All those who had died from the plague suddenly rose as one, and swept toward Zubech. Sharva's crown lands were under threat as well.
In the midst of all this, what do your Houses do?

When the attack on House Gashard becomes public, High Lord Oslan Sharva grows worried. Not only is there significant military action happening close to the homelands, but also, apparently a grouping of houses has apparently decided that economic strengthening of a house is apparently reason enough for a war, which is dangerous for all houses, even those that do not concern themselves much with the larger politics of the realm.
House Sharva therefore decided they had to get involved.
First, a letter to House Gasharde was penned and a delegation of trained and heavily armed soldiers was sent to ensure the safe arrival of the letter and the diplomat carrying it at the court of Gasharde.Then, a second letter was written and delivered by High Lord Oslan's uncle to the head of House Sellelenar, hoping that the importance of the courier will lend extra weight to the contents of the letter.
House Sharva therefore decided they had to get involved.
First, a letter to House Gasharde was penned and a delegation of trained and heavily armed soldiers was sent to ensure the safe arrival of the letter and the diplomat carrying it at the court of Gasharde.

Time for play by play commentary on the recent events in Scymira, featuring me, saevikas (Spectator) and our guest host, saevikas (Player).Well, looks like Scymira's about to start a world war, with most of the NPC houses, including the three most militant ones, about to beat down on House Fugue because the royal house needs to save face.
Yes, such an escalation of events was really unexpected.
Not really looking good if it leads to a direct conflict, since House Fugue's specs are honestly pretty average.
An acute observation. As you can see, House Fugue has rather high population, land, and wealth, while scraping the barrel for every other aspect. If you look at this situation as a direct conflict against half a dozen NPC houses, House Fugue is, in a word, screwed.
There are certainly more factors to this, of course. What do you think about the rebellion? How does that factor into House Fugue's strategy?
The rebellion was an unexpected factor, but it's not going to last without some support, since the houses rebelling are three of the least militant houses. It definitely does take some of the pressure off though, as the royal house and its cohorts now have to deal with two fronts.
And in other news, we have...zombies now.
Yes, those who died from the plague in Tamer have risen. I think that's pretty weird, and may be end up being a problem later. In the short term, however, they're probably not going to hinder House Fugue's actions. In fact, it may even be beneficial, as House Zubech has been the first house targeted by these undead.
As one of the most militant houses taking action against House Fugue, having this event come up certainly does take some of the heat off, doesn't it.

So, overall, what actions do you believe House Fugue should take?
Well, there are a few options. House Fugue could just bite the bullet, and yield.

If you think about it, the royal house's actions were due to House Gasharde putting them on the spot. Removing them from the map would remove that pressure from them.
Of course, you can't say that the royal house would stop their actions if such a thing happened. They probably will be even more aggressive. That's not including all of the other houses that would feel threatened by such an action.
Yes, but consider this wise and totally unproblematic saying. "Snitches get stitches". Anyways, a third option would be to resist the royal house. This is probably the broadest option, with there being a lot of ways this could be handled.
House Fugue most likely have to gain allies for any reasonable amount of resistance.
Yes, that's true. Unfortunately, it may be difficult to find allies, the hard truth being that most houses would either align with the royal house, or remain neutral. House Fugue may be able to ally with those who conspired with them, but even that is not guaranteed. They could also take advantage of the recent events, and support the rebellion in the Headlands.
In any case, House Fugue will probably lose more than they gain no matter what action they take.

How much population/land did the thingie with Gasharde get me? If I'm going to start a world war, I might as well take joy in the little things while I can.In addition, they reach out to the houses that attended Kraken Society's meeting, and the houses that are currently rebelling against the royal house. The statement is worded slightly differently for each house, but the message is simple.
None of us are going to survive the wrath of the royal house alone. Let's join forces to defend ourselves.
