Babs adds, "We'll need to find zees poachers first. I trust that it will be a tiresome chore to get the information from them. As such, we may likely become clean up peoples, removing their inventories for safe disposal elsewhere, jes? And if anyone asks, we traded for it."

Okie doke. Just throwing out other options. I have no problem with taking out the trash.

"I reckon we may be able to find one of these here cousins in town, Mister Jack here mentioned. We can introduce one of them to Jezebel. If that don't get 'em to singing, well, then Jezebel gets lunch." Tex knocks back his coffee. "Got a description for us?"

Jack looks to Tex. "To be honest, I don’t know if any of the Terhunes are currently at the City in the Sea. But I guess it wouldn’t hurt to see if one of them is around. The family’s been keeping a low profile as of late. Not sure I could give you a description since there’s lots of them. But I do know that when they’re here, the Terhunes like to drop by one of the local watering holes: The Bowery.
OOC:
For those of you who hail from the City in the Sea, the Bowery is your typical sleazy, hole-in-the-wall tavern known for being patroned by the City’s less than reputable elements. Fights and stabbings are common, and most regular folk stay away from the place. If someone needs to meet with criminal contacts, this is usually where to do it.
Jack continues. "Most of the Terhunes have names related to tools or weapons: Hammer, Vice, Nails, Wrench, Lash, etc." He turns his attention to the rest of you. "In terms of items..." Jack scratches his chin and thinks. "We’ve got some rare items in the garage, but it’s all pre-cataclysm and too valuable for the Old Bloods to risk parting with. If you want bait, you could go to the Moles and request some tech, though good luck convincing them to give it to you."

Jack suddenly smirks and glances at Duke and Tex. "You two have bait of the living variety, however. I was told that one if you has a cutter for a mount, and another one of you travels with a smilodon."

Hah! I'd like to see them try and rustle as fine a lady as Jezebel.

Indeed, that looks like the best first step. Worst case we get a drink.

Win win

Jack listens and nods. "Well, don’t do anything too rash while in the City." He looks at Tex. "Especially if you’ve got a cutter with you. People are a little quicker to pull the trigger when a large carnivore is involved. I’ve got a cutter, too. A juvenile. And he’s a handful..."

Babs frowns but nods at the plan. "When we head out, do you have a trailer we can use to haul the horse and cutter and smilodon behind my truck?"

Would my horse be safe in a trailer with your cutter?

Tex laughs. It starts out as quick guffaw, then evolves into a chuckle, before finally ascending to a full belly laugh. After a slapping his knee a couple times and wiping a way a tear he manages "Ahhhhhhhh. God no."

"Yes, the trailer is perhaps a bad idea. We need to simply go slow enough for everyone to keep up. Once we get out there, we'll be happy to have your fine steeds." She sips the moonshine a bit more, relishing the pleasing burn.

I don't mind sharing a ride, but I'm just as comfortable walking," Janey offers.

I think it is within walking distance.
