Step I: Region

STORMWRACK ISLAND
Stormwrack Island is a stretch of land the protects the west coast of the Headlands from violent storms that blow in from the southeast. However, this means that it itself is a place of sometimes savage weather as it is battered by these storms.
Houses on Stormwrack Island are more in control of the populace, as it is hard to live outside the major cities, but being on an island means that new land is impossible to come by, and that population must be constrained or sent away if a boom hits.

Step III: History
Age of House (Society): Ancient
Historical Events: 10 (Origins: Conquest)
[ +- ] Event 01 (Conquest / Conquest of the High Seas)
The Stories: There is a area between the Crown Lands, the Headlands and Stormwrack Island called "The Deeps". A triangular area in the center of those three regions where legends spoke of monsters living deep under water. Those "monsters" were suppose to be the reason fishing on the coasts around it was so good. Fisherman's thought the "monsters" pushed the scared the fishes from the center to the coasts. After years of fishing, the fish started becoming sparse. The fisherman's started venturing further into the deeps to fish. It didn't take long for some of them to start saying they had sighted a giant monster, but the rest only believed them when the Kraken woke up and destroyed a dozen of their boats. A stranger visiting them convinced some of them to hunt it using some kind of strange arrow, he called them thunder-arrows. After arming themselves, with weapons and courage, they went into the deeps on their biggest ship. It didn't take long for the Kraken to rise up, and after almost an hour, they miraculously managed to kill it. The killing blow of course had to be credited to the stranger and his thunder-arrows. The villages around the deeps agreed together that the surviving heroes had gained the rights to install themselves in a village of their own on the Stormwrack Island, with the stranger becoming the leader of this new community...

[ +- ] Event 02 (Glory 01 / Age of Piracy)
The Stories: In the following years, the fisherman's found that there was something missing in their life. The rush of adrenaline they had felt battling the Kraken was not something they could find while fishing. They asked the stranger to further their training with the thunder weapons, which he did. Not long after that they tried hunting other sea monsters but didn't find any... So they turned on another dangerous prey, and started the age of piracy...

[ +- ] Event 03 (Glory 02 / Rise of the Pirate King)
The Stories: Following their new occupation, the stranger decided to take the lead to stop them from becoming too bloodthirsty. Organizing them in a more militaristic force, they slowly but steadily expanded their lands and their military power using their thunder arrows. It wasn't long before the pirates decided he was their new Pirate King. Since nobody had known his name, he was given a new one that included the name of his ship in it, he was now Raiden "The Thunder", Captain of "the Kraken"...

[ +- ] Event 04 (Scandal/ Cleansing of the Isle)
The Stories: After a few years of being tyrannized on the seas by the pirates, Maa-Talia secretly installs a base of operations on the western edge of Stormwrack, disguised as a village, to open up trade with the pirates. Captain Raiden, the Pirate King, sees that as an opportunity to come back to a less violent way of life for his people so accepts the Maa-Talians with open arms. Unfortunately, a little more than a year after, spies were caught stealing the secrets of the thunder weapons. They were chased to their village where the pirates, that felt betrayed, killed everyone without exception. Unbeknownst to them a small rowboat had escaped with one of the spy. Once the King of that era learned of the actions taken against one of his kingdoms subjects, he had to do something but was secretly scared of the pirates unknown military might. To save face, he still sent troops, expecting heavy losses. But before they attacked, the Pirate King made an offer, his own life... The Pirate King offered his own head to the King, if the King promised to leave his people alone. The offer was accepted, allowing both sides to keep face. Before leaving, the Pirate King left instructions to 8 of his most trusted and most able captains... Shortly after, the Pirate King was publicly beheaded...

[ +- ] Event 05 (Glory 03 / The Kraken Society)
The Stories: From what was written by the Pirate King before he left, the 8 captains (now known as High Lords of the Seas) created the Kraken Society, a society based on meritocracy. Changing their ways, they mostly left their piracy days behind them to adopt a more mercantile way. After chasing all Maa-Talian ships from the eastern seas, they started trading merchandise from everybody on the eastern shores and founded a few ports to facilitate the process. Not wanting to lose their military might, they also started selling their services as mercenaries...

[ +- ] Event 06 (Ascent 01 / Death of a Rebellion)
The Stories: Hired by Fugue to quell a rebellion, the Kraken Society sent a few under cover to find the leaders of that rebellion. Once found, they surrounded a building where the rebels were planning a coup and eliminated all the heads of the rebellion. The next day, with no one to lead the populace, the rebellion died down and the populace never knew what truly happenned...

[ +- ] Event 08 (Glory 04 / Siegebreakers)
The Stories: The Kraken Society was hired to help Sharva. They arrived just in time to take the attackers from behind, creating enough chaos for Sharva's troops to get out and create a pincer attack. With the element of confusion on their side, the battle was quickly over and the siege of Sharva was broken successfully.
