Hmm, that defeats the whole point of our surveillance in the first place... Natto paused for a while, as if conferring with his superiors. Ok, we have the green light to go ahead with this plan, in the interest of getting more info. You may turn off your feeds and cut communications for exactly ten minutes. After that we send in a team. A law enforcement patrol is headed your way, and will cover the station extrances and exits above you. They will enter your station level after the ten minutes are up.

Remember, if you need to, you can activate your Hornets. And here's a little something for backup. While you can't use them when you're unplugged, they are there when you need them. Natto sent over three control codes. Looking at your specs, you should have no problem using them. Standard survelliance drones we keep on standby at various installations. Each is equipped with a grenade. Using the grenade destroys the drone. They're turned off for now, but slaved to you. Hotaru's feed informed him that three Flying Eye drones had been deployed to the station level. Any questions? If not, then anytime you're ready.

OOC:

You have 3 Horizon Flying Eye drones on standby. The station is an underground station, you are at the platform, no one else is around. No train is on the tracks nor seems to be arriving. Your own train has pulled away already. You are seated on one of the platform benches.

Hotaru turn off his cyberware and says out loud. "Ok, I'm listening. Can you tell me what is actually happening here?"

A voice spoke out of nowhere. Hotaru could not see the person, but whoever it was sounded pretty nearby, as close as the next bench on the platform. "It was impossible to get to you, with all your cameras and survelliance. Listen carefully, Hotaru, we have no time left." The voice had addressed him by his real name! No one else here knew that, not even the police, as his fake SIN had been foolproof in giving him an entirely new identity. It was now evident why the person had wanted everything unplugged. "Watanabe sent me, he's a friend of your father." The voice spoke very quickly, but calmly. "You've been set up. Dillon Halbert is dead. The man who gave you that case was an imposter. You've just helped whoever is behind this smuggle something significant, for them to go through all this trouble. For your own sake get out of here now, an ambush is imminent."

"Tell them Tengu's behind the smuggling. But the Watada-gumi, that's the Yaks* to you, want to get their hands on it. But there's another party involved; some spirits are coming your way. They followed you on the train, should be coming through the tunnel very soon. It's complicated, I don't have all the answers. Watanabe just told me keep you alive."

*Yaks = Yakuza, "-gumi" means group or clan.

Well shit, this keeps getting better and better Hotaru thought to himself. Moving quickly while finishing the conversation, he removes the 2 hornets from the case before closing it again and starting to walk in direction of the exit.
"So, which group sent those runners at the airport, the mage and the orc? And which group sent those spirit?"

"What runners at the airport?" It was now the voice's turn to sound surprised. "Weren't you detained by the police, and then released? And like I said, I don't know who sent those spirits."

"It's a long story. Thanks for the help, I'll need my comm back to stay ahead of them.

Hotaru will reconnect all his gear, quickly reconnecting with Natto, activating all the drones and moving toward the exit of the train station as quickly as he can with the big case.
He'll set up the eye drone behind him, watching for the spirits from the tunnel, the hornets scouting ahead, one pathing his way and one going directly outside to check for a taxi, and the dog to follow at his heel.

"Hey Natto, I'm back. Heading for a taxi outside, spirits seems to be after me from the train tunnel. Learned a few things from my secret guardian, Tengu's is behind the smuggling like you thought. They killed and replaced the guy who presented himself as Dillon Halbert. The Watada-gumi is after the good for themselves also. He

"Wait, let me finish, one more thing." The voice was ready to disappear the moment Hotaru reconnected. "There a crate coming down the elevator. Best I could do at such short notice. Look me up once you're clear of the police." With that, no more communication came from Hotaru's secret helper, who must've risked much and gone through a lot of trouble just to track him down and get hold of him after not being able to connect with him at the airport. Watanabe must've been a good friend of his father.

The train platform could be exited via both the escalator and the elevator, which were situated at opposite ends of the platform. Two or three people were beginning to arrive from the ground level above, presumably to take the next train.

OOC:

Hard to tell if the voice is male or female, possibly because of the camouflage. If you really want to know, roll Perception.

Secret guardians, spirits, seems everyone knows about the mutagen. Is there anyone who isn't after it? Hotaru could just imagine Natto shaking his head, muttering to himself. Change of plans, get up to ground level but stay put at the station, we're sending in back up. We're not actually putting your life in danger. They were the metropolitan police after all ...

Hotaru had not yet made it to the elevator when the lift door opened and a crate hovered out of it, seemingly unaided, and then stopped a few feet in front. The door then closed and the lift went back up.

Yea... I was thinking the same. So what will happen with me dropping the case? While I appreciate your intentions, I'm getting the feeling my life will be in danger as long as this thing in not officially out of my hand. In addition, I am getting more and more invested in making sure those dangerous peoples do not get away with it.

While talking, Hotaru calls back the elevator and proceed to check the content of the crate.

Just realised we never got Hotaru's real full name!

The crate's security lock was keyed to Hotaru's real identity. With a simple toggle, he was able to open the case. Inside was a drone. An MCT-Nissan Rotor drone to be exact. It was a drone Hotaru was familiar with, among the many that he knew how to operate. In a small sleeve next to it was the activation chip Hotaru needed in order to input into his interface so that he could have control over it. Watanabe had sent not just a guardian angel, but also relevant equipment, to try his best to keep Hotaru equipped and hopefully alive, until such time as Hotaru could be free of police monitoring.

Bring yourself and the case up. We'll take it from there. Natto clarified the instructions.

State any further actions you want to do with the drone, or at this level. After this I'm moving you to a new thread.

As written on the character sheet, Hotaru original name is Jack Evans. I kinda expected that he would have been instructed to burn that SIN when going into hiding, but just switching with the fake SIN might have been enough.
As for opening the crate security lock, would that required switching to his real SIN on his comm? I'm not sure Hotaru would want to do that while the police is monitoring him.

If he can do it safely, Hotaru will slave the Rotordrone to his RCC. He will split the drones, Sending 2 hornets and 1 eye to scout at the ground floor. Keeping Max, the rotor and 1 eye to ride the elevator with him and leaving 1 eye downstair to watch the tunnel.

He will use the elevator ride to double check the drones perception and scouting to have the maximum of information. He will also check the specs of the Rotordrone and if the Rotordrone is equipped with latches or a compartment to hold either the case or the content for safer transport.

Got it. Ah ok, for some reason it didn't register in my head that was his real name, dunno why. Ok, let's go with whatever fake SIN Hotaru's father would've given Hotaru. That would be the one his father would've given to Watanabe for Watanabe to then use as the identity to open the crate. Decide which one is that, and then we can say whether Hotaru would use it or not while the police are monitoring.

Fake SIN Jacques Etienne is of course still what airport security plus the police identify Hotaru to be.

Hmm, for thinking about latching the case to the Rotor, I think that's pretty inventive thinking. Please gain 1 Edge!

Once we clarify this I can move you to a new thread.

My thinking was that Jacques Etienne was the father try at giving Hotaru a chance a a normal life in Japan, hence the high-end fakes covering all his licenses. The Jack Edwards fake SIN I put in character creation was to have a fake SIN to not use the good one during shadowrunning and other shady stuff. Not sure how much of a "normal" life Hotaru will be able to keep with the Jacques Etienne SIN with all the attention he got on him, but that is part or the character's transition into the shadowrunning world :P

Hotaru is not actually a name that Jack has used yet, but it will be the japanase-flavored code name he will choose for himself. A few of the kanji for it fit the character concept well, around firefly and flow. He will obviously stop using his past SIM and Matrix code.

My thinking is that one of the casual Rotordrone function would be to deliver various stuff, so clasp or inside container seemed logical.
