Checking in!

Hello all!

I'm Ron, and I enjoy PbP gaming! :) I think of it as a different way to play games, as I enjoy FtF gaming as well. My favorite games to play are AD&D 1E and OD&D, in that order. I'm more adventurous (with my games) in PbP, most recently having played in a Star Trek: Adventure Gaming in the Final Frontier PbP - I'm not usually a sci-fi RPGer, but I am a big Star Trek (TOS) fan, so it was a good fit, and a great game!

Just checking out the digs and seeing what's going on. I am most likely to lurk for quite a bit. I have played 1E for many decades at this point (maybe 4 --- oh my) and my daughters (all four have cut their teeth on 1E) have gotten me into 5E a wee bit. Too many rules [/whine] but I have enjoyed 3 or 4 sessions. :D

Welcome rredmond! Hope you find some great games. I know that AD&D and original D&D are routinely played here, as well as more recent games of a wide assortment.

Thanks everyone for the warm welcomes!!!! And yes Airickson I'm a big Tull fan! Seen them a bunch of times before Martin Barre left, and saw Ian Anderson once after. Poor Ian's voice is just struggling, but I dig their music and will survive on boots and the old music. :D If I get the opportunity I'll likely see Martin's band, he's an excellent guitar player, but it's all different now, sigh. I like a crapton of different wacky-ish music though, I feel like my faves are too unique to be completely mainstream: Tull, Dio, Pogues, Glenn Miller, etc :D

I'm a little late to the party, but welcome aboard!!

I only saw Tull once -- back in 2000 or so. Even then Anderson's voice was pretty rough, but they did a portion of Thick as a Brick (my favorite tune) which I'll always remember. The separation between Anderson and Barre was strange, but at least they were together for the best years of the band.

My taste in music is also strange as I like anything Rob Halford does and Jethro Tull probably equally well.

Thick as a Brick is a great song - a great 45 minute song. And Halford's voice - good, powerful stuff!
