[ +- ] Coruscant
The night of Coruscant is very little different than the day once you get to a lower part of the planet, as you go down layers and layers of the city planet, the sun stops to matter, and the lighting is all the same, the 3322nd level is one such level, still quite livable the level has a reputation for having multiple spice dens and many illegal drugs are sold on the level, as such a frequent Coruscant guard can be found here, but most are ignored and rarely interject with the crime that happens here.
[ +- ] Street Level
The street level that one can find the Kaadu Palace has recently been sprayed from a cleaning crew, the smell of cleaning chemicals is lightly in the air, and covers some of the musk you would usually be smelling at this level, glowing neon signs advertise a restaurant and Credits Retrieval stop (essentially an ATM), some screens show that an upcoming nuna-Ball game is soon, and The Vinta Harvest Classic is tonight (A very big Podrace one of the few not held in the outer-rim).

A drunk Twi'lek and Rodian stumble out of the Kaadu Palace, it seems early for them to be this intoxicated but you recognize the kind of place you're entering, a Human on the street corner is performing some music and has some loose credits inside a speeder helmet in front of him.
Feb 29, 2020 5:15 am
Vessi carefully keeps out of the drunkards way as she enters the Kaadu Palace. "Well, this sure looks like a high class establishment." Turning to her droid ID9-N0 'Dino' "Stay on me, this is the kind of place were even organics are taken apart and sold for parts." Dino beeps in confirmation and perches on her shoulder. As soon as she enters she takes a look around, and heads to the main bar and gets the Bartenders attention.
Feb 29, 2020 8:10 am
This world was so loud. Nunyeh didn't like it.
As she entered the Kaadu Palace, the young Miraluka looked around. Where would a person like Jace Tovak sit and wait for his contacts?
HQ had given her a holo of Tovak so she could identify him. She concentrated and tried to make out his face in the hundreds of people enjoying their evening within this dive.

Let's start this game with a roll! Perception - (1D20+8)

(8) + 8 = 16

Feb 29, 2020 3:52 pm
With your perception roll you can tell that there is a good maybe 30-40 organics in this club/bar there is a dance floor where about half of the crowd currently is going along with some of the music coming out of the walls. The other half are either in the booths along the wall on the back looking at holonet screens for the upcoming race, or ordering drinks at the bar. The bar going along the wall has a human bar tender with a cybernetic eye, and two droids helping as bar back like roles.
Oddly it seems Jace isn't here yet.

Nunyeh decides to take a seat in an empty booth and further watch the patrons of this establishment.

As he walks level 3322, Vornu is reminded as to why leaving his home planet was a good move. So many people, so much technology, so many gadgets. Mostly staying focused on where he is going, he checks everyone and tries to identify all the items he sees and makes a mental note of those he will need to research.

There it is, the Kaadu Palace. Hmmm, doesn't look much like a palace but, then again, different types like different things.

He walks inside and immediately steps to one side of the door, takes in the view, tries to identify the exits and then heads to the bar. He gets into a position to get the bartenders attention and in a broken and mechanical sounding Galactic Basic (mainly due to the translator surgically installed so he may speak other languages) orders his drink.

"Blue Mappa, Large" After being served he sits on a stool and waits.

The turbolift Mal rode to level 3322 was Restricted Access. He might have preferred to take normal routes, but Master Onph had walked him personally and had used his own clearance card to call the lift, so Mal didn't resist. He had briefly checked in with his immediate POC before his meet up with Jace Tovak, known smuggler. Tovak had been of considerable help to the Order on occasion - and a considerable pain in the backside at other times as well.

Mal cleared his mind, extended his feelings like tendrils in the Force reaching out to sense the 'here and now'. The turbolift reached it's terminal end a few levels above 3322, giving Mal the chance to stretch his legs, walk about the public and get a sense of the area. He'd been to to level 3322 many years ago, briefly, and in hot pursuit of a dangerous criminal. This time he'd have a bit more freedom to look around.

The denizens of level 3322 were preoccupied with themselves for the most part. Mal had an imposing build, but years of practice had honed the Jedi's ability to keep a low profile in a crowd. He minded his own business in truth, and he maintained a non-judgmental attitude toward others. People do and act as they feel they must, he thought. If they cross the law, then they will answer to it. It was simple, but orderly.

Mal passed a musician just outside the entrance to Kaadu Palace. Down on his luck. Some of these musicians are immensely talented, thought Mal as he flipped a chit worth 5 credits into the helmet and smiled at the performer. A different set of circumstances and I'm paying ten times more for the same performance.

Entering Kaadu Palace wasn't alarming, Mal had seen it all and had tolerated much worse. He entered nonchalantly and began looking for the smuggler among the patrons.

Mal's search for the smuggler began to take him through the Kaadu Palace, but before he found his quarry he noticed he had drawn the attention of another. From the shadow of an alcove an armored figure was watching his every step from its T-shaped visor. It was a Mandalorian, of that there could be no doubt, and it had picked him out of the crowd with the practice of an expert hunter. There was no outward hostility, but Mal knew that was a farce. The Mandalorian had a bowcaster, as well as other weapons, and the pose that suggested it was at ease was in fact tense and ready to spring into action if need be. But Mal knew the Mandalorian would have engaged him if it had wanted to, mercilessly mowing through the crowd to get to him. The only reason it hadn't must have been because it was not here for him, and their meeting was by chance. Like one alpha predator meeting another, the Mandalorian was sizing him up, but nothing more... yet.

The Mandalorian was not pleased. In better circumstances, a Jedi would make an honorable target. But this was Coruscant and killing a Jedi Knight, even on this sublevel, would draw far too much attention to the Mandalorian Enclave. This was not the Way. But ignoring a Jedi was foolish. Their code clashed with both Resol'nare and the Supercommando Codex. Whatever business the Mandalorian did here this day might be observed and interfered with by the Jedi. He was an unwanted complication, and he bore watching. Perhaps he would leave before an employer came to hire a supercommando. Observe. Wait. Strike only when needed.

This was the Way.
Feb 29, 2020 11:48 pm
Mal scanned the room. Visibility wasn't the best, and he didn't see Tovak yet, so he figured to move to the bar and be visible himself. The T-shaped visor in the alcove to his left was unmistakable. Mal nodded to the figure, a gesture almost imperceptible at this range - to most beings. He knew the Mandalorian's gear contained an advanced visual suite and the nod wouldn't go unnoticed.

The bar was fairly busy; Mal found room at the end of the bar. Less than desirable for socializing, but not bad for keeping an eye out for trouble. Mal held up two fingers pressed together at the bar tender's droid helper and dropped an elbow on the lean-cushion.
Feb 29, 2020 11:58 pm
Seeing a new, rather strong presence in the force walk in, Nunyeh fixates her mind a bit on the rather imposing man.
A Jedi... They had always been interesting, what with their restrictive code and all. They also had some of the strongest Sages in the known galaxy, people Nunyeh could maybe learn a thing or two from.
Although this man looked more like the type who relayed on their light saber more than on their power in the force.
Mar 1, 2020 3:26 pm
As the group looks about the club, a large dark skinned man walks into the bar, most would assume this man was a pirate or even a common thug, in this level of Coruscant he would be assumed an enforcer of a larger crime syndicate, this is Jace, he passes you all the back booths, says something in a tone a little too low to hear and the two humans and Mon Calamari get out, and actually leave the bar entirely. He then sits, looks out at the bar at most of you and then aggressively pats the table.
Mar 1, 2020 11:02 pm
A new presence entered Nunyeh's vision: The man why she was here. She watched him as he walked over to his new booth, which evacuated itself quite quickly. Looks even taller than in the holos...
Giving the leaving pre-occupants not much of a look, Nunyeh slowly stood up from the bank of her booth. As Tovak pats his table, she will begin to slowly walk over.
Mar 2, 2020 2:27 am
Vessi watches the entrance of Jace Tavok intently. So he is king around these parts. Interesting. She walks over to the table he is at and sits down, watching for the approach of other people he has invited.
Mar 2, 2020 5:43 am
Mal could sense when Jace entered the Kaadu Palace, and he didn't need the Force to do it. The air in the room changes when a top-level predator enters. He watched the man free his table of choice and take a seat. Mal knocked back the rest of his drink and squared up with the bar, preparing to make his way over to Jace's table when he noticed another doing the same thing from a different part of the room. And seconds later yet another being moved over to the same table. This is unusual for Tovak, thought Mal as he began picking through the patrons and made his way to the table. Mal stretched out with Force and passively registered the information that resonated back; the mood of the room, a shoud of darkness indicating threatening intent, the table he approached. Interesting, was the word that crossed his mind.

Mal made a study of his host as well, was there a show of confidence or an air crisis and need? Was Jace Tovak presently cloaked in the light of truth or in the shadow of falsehood?

Mar 2, 2020 4:44 pm
Mal acknowledges the other two beings that reached the table first with a kindly smile and nod while saying:"Tovak, you brought friends. Didn't know you had any." Mal's grin faded into a farce of a paternal look aimed at the wiley smuggler. Mal slid in (currently) last to take an edge seat.
Mar 2, 2020 4:45 pm
A Zabrak emerges from a back room and heads toward an empty booth. His expression tells no tale of the business conducted behind the curtain form which he emerged. He slings his blaster rifle off his shoulder and sets it carefully in the booth before adjusting the chakram on his belt as he takes a seat. With a single subtle gesture, the Zabrak summons a bar back and in almost a whisper he requests a drink. As he awaits his refreshment, he takes a look around at the activity in the bar. Things have been quiet and he was starting to grow bored of Coruscant. A city planet such as this should be garnering more bounty work but it seemed clear that the Guild was sucking up all the opportunities. He scowls slightly at the thought.

The Mandalorian looked at the enforcer and his summons. Was this man about to offer a bounty or mission to multiple parties? It could be. But the Jedi had wandered over, and that did not sit well. Warily the supercommando joined the group at the enforcer's table. The bowcaster remained holstered, but other weapons were in easy reach and the Mandalorian never let the Jedi out of its sight, nor was any word spoken to the enforcer. If there was to be an offer to be made to the people gathered, then it would be heard and weighed.

Interesting. I don't ever remember seeing one of those droids resting? Is it resting, or is the owner a spy of some sort? Hmmm.

Vornu will study the droid to see if he notices anything unusual for a seeker. After studying it for a short time, Vornu notices his contact enter.

As Tovak enters, Vornu notices the reaction. The whole attitude has changed and the way those three got up and left quickly seems strange. A few moments later others start moving towards the booth and taking a seat.

Well this is what I wanted. Guess I best go join before I am left out.

Vessi smiles warmly to the others gathering at the table. Her droid looks at each person in turn, pausing for a few moments before focusing on the next person.

Holojournalism sometimes requires going to places polite society pretends doesn't exist. This is far from the worst place I've been to. At least here there is no pretending; some "high society" Vessi physically makes the air quotes Soirees have people not so subtly plotting the murder of someone else there. Problem is, high society people tend to be afraid to do their own dirty work, the cowards. This place has a certain sense of purity, if any of these patrons are plotting to kill you, you can be reasonably certain that they will probably handle it personally. I think there is a sense of honor in handling your own business. But that is not always possible, hence the need for bounty hunters, espionage specialists, enforcers, and so on and so on.

Vessi looks around at the others that have joined the table. It would seem that you have a need for a very diverse grouping of sentients. Makes me curious as to what the almost legendary Jace Tavok needs done that he is unable to accomplish himself.

I hope.
Mar 3, 2020 6:34 am
For once Mal truly was caught off guard. First the Mandalorian arrived at the table, and the skin on Mal's arm braced. Then Jace Tavok seemed to think Mal was going to work a 'score' for him. "Score? I'm out Jace. You should know better." Instinct and timing demanded that this was the moment Mal slide himself out of the booth and walk out of the Kaadu Palace. But the Mandalorian was in the way, and Mal wasn't going to be the cause of a scene. Mal was stuck, and Jace knew it. Blasted luck, Mal said darkly to himself.

He would have to trust to the Force for the next few moments. Channel calm, peace. Maybe it was good that he was going to have to witness whatever Jace Tovak was up to. Time would tell.

"Un baa nye loo ugama dooka, eyeta?" Mal said to the curious Jawa at the table. Mal liked the species, he admired their toughness and persistence. Had a number of dealings with Jawa traders on an outer rim planet called Tatooine when he was running down some gangsters in Hutt Territory.

The group? The Mandalorian considered the words carefully. It implied that cooperation with this unprofessional rabble would be required. At least the Jedi was out of the way. Still, the idea of working with these incompetent womp-rats was out of the question.
"I don't work with amateurs. Give me the mission."
The voice was a intimidating artificial burst. Somewhere in the Mandalorian's helmet was a vox-synthesizer or a translator.

In our society, there is no such thing as an apex predator, there is always someone with the power to destroy you. You probably know how to kill, how to use a weapon to great effect. But do you know how to incite a war? I do. With simple words in the right ears, you can have people killing each other, or saving each other.

OOC:
That damage would be energy damage, right? If yes, Nunyeh will use her reaction to cast disperse force. She'll gain temporary hp that would soak up the damage.
If it's kinetic for example, she'll obviously not do that.

After protecting herself from the blaster bolts (or not, I'll clean this up after your answer), Nunyeh takes out her vibrodagger.
She concentrates for a second and then throws the dagger at the Wookie, using the force to lead its way.

From behind his shield Mal could feel the blaster shots pepper his defenses, a relentless volley of lethal energy. Screams in a dozen different languages added to the stress of the moment. Mal saw a number of shots return from the table he was sitting at seconds ago. In the space between the seconds he saw a weapon deftly thrown with precision and felt the tendrils of the Force drawing it backnto the hand that offered it. Staying low and behind his shield, Mal rushed forward to the wounded Wookiee assassin and struck with his lightsaber gauntlet.

He decides that he has two big reasons to help the victims of the attack, one: take out the bounty hunters to save himself and two: if they are after a bounty, it can be a bounty Kadal himself could cash in on. As the return fire began and the stream of fire directed at them died the Mandalorian grabbed Jace and dragged him behind the bar. No mission had been accepted yet, and that meant there was no contract. There was no obligation to protect the client, but it would not be in the Mandalorian's interest to have the client die. A quick glance over the bar gave a tactical assessment. The other potential hires would overwhelm the ambushers through sheer numbers if nothing else. The Mandalorian fired the fearsome boltcaster it was carrying about to add to the fusillade aimed at the droid controlling Duro. It was the highest tactical risk as the capacities of that individual were unknown, while the blaster rifle wielding man and Wookiee were predictable in their capacities. The Mandalorian turned to Jace.

"Keep safe."

It wasn't a suggestion. It was an order.

The Mandalorian was satisfied with the tactical situation for now. The client was safely in cover and the attackers were on the defensive and outnumbered. If they counterattacked it would likely be against those who had closed with them. The Duro had turned on a shielding device. He could be dealt with later. Mal could see the blow coming, got his shield up and braced, but it still felt like a speeder bounced off of him as the Wookiee tried to drive him into the floor. Mal had made a thorough inspection of the scene, had hung around to check on the wounded, and call in the event to his primary at the Jedi Order. "They were gunning hard for Jace it seems," he had concluded, "didn't matter who got in the way."

Mal looked around at the damage that had been caused. This thing already made him sick to his stomach, but he had his orders. He was to pursue the mission and see it to it's end, so long as the interests of the Republic and of the Order were upheld. "One more thing," Mal added to his report, "the assailants were members of the Guild, but I was unable to find a fob for anyone present, including Jace. I'll check back in after we drop out of hyperspace."

He'd have to bring extra sterilizer on this mission. Mal hurriedly jogged to catch up with the others before the ride left.

The Manadalorian never paused moving to the hangar. When the others caught up, they only got a glance and a harsh sigh. with the keycard Jace had given the Mando opened the bay and the ship, and unceremoniously got in the cockpit as the others boarded. With practiced expertise the Mandalorian looked over the controls and brought the ship online, cycling the engines. After that the ship's intercom crackled and whined before the Mandalorian's voice boomed over it.
"Secure the cargo. Check primary systems. Decide where you want to be when we run the blockade. Stay out of my way."
A harsh crack ended the message from their pilot.

Taking the ship thorugh pre-flight routine, the Mandalorian then opened communications to the traffic tower. The Mandalorian played it by the book. Air traffic on Coruscant was nightmarishly congested..
"Freighter Ghtroc 720 to Tower. Bay three seventeen. Vertical lift-off to space lane."

The ship vibrated as the heavy-duty atmospheric engines cycled up to provide power to lift the freighter off the ground.
Apr 4, 2020 12:35 pm
Very stubborn that one. Thinks he handled situation all by himself.

Vornu follows the mando to the bridge. As the Mandalorian takes the pilots seat and barks over the intercomm, Vornu sits in the co-pilots seat and stands by to assist in the event of trouble. He looks out ahead and at the controls and ignores the self made pilot.
Apr 4, 2020 7:03 pm
Looking around the spacious cargo bay, Mal's footsteps echoed in the emptiness. He continued a brief scan of the ship, looking for anything that passed for a kitchen, and a refresher wouldn't be a bad idea either. Packing light, Mal could find rest just about anywhere. The man had learned to dispense with creature comforts long ago, so an empty couch or pile of luggage was a luxury. I would like to get to know who I'm rubbing elbows with on this boat. I wasn't the only force-user at the club, nor will I be the only one here on this ship. I wonder if the Order has files on any of these beings? Most seem ok so far, which is a relief. But still... Mal and his thoughts landed in the common space on a roomy couch that ran in an elliptical curve around a table. Mal put an arm up behind his head and kicked his feet up. The quiet hum of the ship relaxed his mind as he processed the events of the day.
Apr 4, 2020 11:53 pm
Vessi admires the ship for a brief moment before hurrying onboard. That mandalorian will leave us all behind if given half a chance. It's going to be a long mission. Once on the ship, Vessi immediately finds a bunk and lays back tinkering with the wristpad she obtained from the Duros.
Apr 5, 2020 12:04 pm
Kadal boards the ship, inspecting every nook and panel as he goes. Not the most flattering thing but it'll have to do. Whatever can get me off this rock. He stores his pack and rifle away and heads for the common room to relax a bit and maybe hear a little chatter about what the plans are. When he gets to the common, he notices Mal and hesitates for a moment before sitting.
Apr 6, 2020 2:47 am
"Greetings," Mal said as he pulled his feet off of the table and sat up in a show of friendliness. There was plenty of room for the two of them. The common area was of typical small scale, but the allocated space had been used efficiently. "Crazy day, huh. Glad we made it outta there in one piece. You ever work with Jace before?" Small talk to calm nerves, size each other up. It was an important step, a handy tool that often went overlooked.
Apr 6, 2020 10:27 pm
Kadal nods to Mal in a respective gesture. Not trying to make friends but also not looking for an enemy.

"I don't have anything to do with what happened back there or whatever you all are getting into. I just needed a lift out of here and I saw this as an opportunity."

As much as he tried to ignore the events that had occurred, curiosity got the better of him.

"What is even going on? Why were people coming in after you, blasters red hot?"
Apr 8, 2020 5:52 am
"I don't think they were after all of us, just Jace, by my reckoning. Fact is, they bit off more than they could chew. Thought I saw you helping out back there as well, true? I mean, I had a wall of wookiee right in fromt of me, so pardon me if I got that wrong. I'm just glad no one was seriously injured. I mean, besides the attackers, that is. They had a bad day for certain." Mal introduced himself to the room. "My name's Mal, by the way. Figure we might be needing to get to know one another, seeing as how this trip started, there's no telling what might in store for us when we get to our destination."

The ship is emaculate, but in both cargo holds are large sealed cargo containers, the common area has a holo chess, and holo network pod, able to connect to most holo shows, and a full supplies of food for two weeks time.

Some downtown activities: Crime (doing some kind of online hustle, if you go this route you'd need to make it make sense for your character), Gambling (The races are under way, and all kinds of events that happen all the time, even online Sabac), Research (Whether on the planet the person you're working for parts of the job etc), and Training (While not particular beneficial at this short time period, could be good for bonding and understanding what you're capable of). welcome to other ideas as well.

Nice, thanks for the ideas. I really appreciate that.
"Well met, Vessi, Freelance Reporter," Mal said with a grin, "that sums it up quite nicely. So what's your story? Owe Jace a favor or somethin'? You don't strike me as the type to be here by accident."

Kadal nods at Vessi as she does her introduction.

"Not getting killed is at the top of my priorities."

He leans his head back and closes his eye, finally feeling a moment to relax.

Let me know what to roll, if anything.
While talking with the others, Mal powered up the holovid and began a query to see if anything new had developed with the semi-recent blockade of Corellia. The ongoing dispute was a potential powder keg waiting to ignite. Mal hoped it wouldn't come to that, but Corellia was an old powerhouse. The blockade was likely just a symbolic manuever, because to Mal's mind it sure made bad tactical sense.

is assumed Vornu will be the pilot?

Mal's focused his query on "Corellia", "blockade" and "separatist" to see what might come up.

Rolls

Lore Check - (1d20)

(18) = 18

OOC:
No basically, Vornu is the CO-pilot. Mando took the lead for pilot and Vornu is assisting.

OOC:
Okay I apologize for my mistake, could the pilot make a Piloting check with advantage with Vornu's help.

The Mandalorian glanced at the Jawa once as it took its seat. It could tell the supercommando was not pleased with its presence, but nothing was said and the Mandalorian continued the launch. Better to have where it can be seen, lest it opens panels and begins scavenging the ship..
OOC:
My passive Piloting is 16 which can be used under non-strenuous conditions. Rolled for 19 with advantage over in OOC channel by mistake.

Mal sat back in thought, turning information over and over, getting the weight of it and letting conclusions rise to the top, while still listening to the others talk. He wondered how much the others knew, how much they cared about the unfolding event on Corellia. He would wait for an appropriate break in the conversation to fill them all in.

Next he began searching for information regarding their destination: "Tyrena".
OOC:
WHat roles might be needed for collecting info regarding Tyrena, and then Obrim Thorn after that?

OOC:
That would be a Lore check twice please
Everyone else

You have three days to roam about the ship and kill your downtime, how are you doing so?

After they are safely in space and traveling, Vornu will explore every square inch of the ship. He will claim a bunk for himself and store what little gear he has there. Soon after wards he will look for the individual who seems to be proficient in Jawaese (Vessi-ki).

In Jawaese:
Greetings, know language well. Where learn.?
Apr 24, 2020 6:11 am
Tyrena is a coastal city with a lot of custom ship shops, they also are home to a flight academy known to turn out some of the best pilots in the galaxy, there are said to be all kinds of life in Tyrena as all sorts are attracted to the academy, this means though there is a larger police force here then usual.

Obrim is known for owning three custom shops, and fits out many offworld ships, originally from Nal Hutta little else is known other then he got in trouble for swoop racing back in the day.

In Jawaese "I learned the language when I was doing an investigative report on a lost ship. Unfortunately your people do not concern themselves too much with where or how old the things they scavenge are. Admirably practical they were."

"Speaking of 'practical'," Mal piped up, "This guy named Obrim looks like he's made a decent living here on Corellia customizing ships and speeders. Anyone been to Tyrena before?" Mal turned everyone in the room onto what his investigation turned up.
OOC:
Can we assume Obrim is Hutt? Sorry I can't remember if this was established.
Mal was impressed with Vessi-Ki for learning the Jawa's native language. Most being in the galaxy tended to live as if species of smaller stature were beneath notice. As a Jedi, Mal was able to get a sense of what most other common species were trying to communicate, but had not been able to learn secondary languages to the degree he would have liked to.

Maybe when I retire, he thought to himself as a wry joke.
