The Stolen Candle - Chapter 2

She looks about wide eyed, and more than a little angry. She points a finger at Kai's snout. And chews on words unsaid, of the rude variety. She lowers her hand and then gives Kai one last glare. She smoothes her hair revealing the tips of pointed ears.

"I be Candle, as the little one says. Thank you for rescuing me. They wouldn't have eaten me, they needed my powers, but twas no fate I'd wish upon ye."

She has a lilting celtic voice, but not hard to understand.

"Now, tell me your names proper, and no trrrickery. I've seen the likes of ye beforrre. Then, I've a task to set before ye, if ye be any friend to life."

Feisty.

"Anyone notice she talks funny?" Kai asks the rest before looking at the lady, "I'm Kai and I'm 7 months old." He belts out with a puffing out of his chest, "I don't have a friend named Life." he adds, "Wait are any of you called Life? I forgot most of your names."

Woo Ha! We showed 'em, Chay hollers as he jumps off the top of Echo with a wide smile and a wipe of his brow. Nice to meet ya Ms Candle. You caused quite a fuss it seems.

She nods at Chay, and raises an eyebrow at him, fist on her hip, toe tapping, as if waiting for something.

"That's Drivey Guy." Kai explains before pointing at the rest "Mr Big Dog, Silent Lady that talks with her hands, Talky Old Guy, and Magic Guy."

She looks at the dragon. "You could help by lending me some of your magic. Do you mind? Just a little?"

She's suddenly very sweet, reaches tentatively for Kai's cheek, waiting for permission.

"Grandpa said when angry woman ask nice for something suddenly they will likely try and twist you by the balls... I don't have balls to twist... at least I don't think..." Kai states and moves away to check, "I wonder what are balls..." he mutters looking around himself.

She harumphs prettily. "I can heal my own wounds, and not with clumsy bandages, but the coalbalds kept me drained of magic. I have nothing left. Please, these arrow wounds really hurt. You're such a big and strong dragon. Won't you help me?"

Me Tipolei, take mine, me have magic energy but don't use... Tipolei goes near the lady and takes a knee to be closer...

She looks at the huge dog soldier and then smiles at him. She holds out a hand toward him, shimmering waves of power flowing from Tipolei to her. It shudders through her, her wounds closing. Palpable relief washes over her face.

"Oh my, thank you. You have a lot of life energy, big man."

"Ahem," says Ben looking slightly annoyed. "I think the introductions can be sorted later. We are technically still on a battlefield, and while its nice to meet Ms. Candle, I'd like to leave the premises for a safer environment. Are you from around here, Ms. Candle? Is there someplace we can help you get back to?"

They are fleeing, hungry but outmatched.

To Ben, she replies, "I'm from farther west. I was captured when the coalbalds took out our village. From Vantage?"

Looking to Ben, You speak with Lady, Tipolei make sure they flee far... And Tipolei runs towards them to make sure they continue fleeing and to note in what direction in case the information is useful later...

Kyron, is my name Candle, what sort of mage might you be ?"

"I'm a Mystic," she corrects, chin up defiantly. "Do you know the way to the nearest town?"

"Yes, we do know the way to the nearest town," says Ben. Internally, he's a bit suspicious of her presence here, and how she ended up a prisoner of the coalbolds. "Chay, is there room in Echo for one more?"
