Both. Beer and whatever is in the pot.

Ruby is always up for trying the local food, undercover or not. Propping herself onto a stool she looks excitedly at the booze selection, wondering if any of it is domestic or they maintain more of a 'micro-brew' selection. "Make it two barkeep."
Apr 24, 2020 5:51 am
Mavis nods approval at Ruby's suggestion and takes a stool.
Aye. Ah'll tek two an' all.

Noticing the orcs joking, she asks Ruby loudly enough for the orcs to hear.
'ow's tha' turn elf into high elf?
...pause...
Twelve foot o' hemp an' noose.
Apr 25, 2020 4:51 am
Hehsh gives a deep hiss and watches the crowd.
OOC:
This definately looks like a domestic style place. The kind of place that looks annoyed when you odre an IPA, and will give really shitty service if you're an out-of-towner. I travel to small towns for work.
Apr 27, 2020 1:48 am
The host comes back with your drinks and meals (stew served in bowls with bread just kind of dropped onto the table beside).

The orcs mumble to themselves then one of them says 'noose' and they all laugh. They probably just got the joke after working it through a bit.

After the host steps back. One of the orcs stands up and slaps his chest. "Me Qorth. Fight! Or scram!"

He seems to be asking for a one on one fisticuffs duel.
Apr 27, 2020 4:17 am
Garth stands up and stretches.

Well Qorth...

Just as he says his name he causes 5he staff to appear and sucker hits the orc.

Rolls

Quarterstaff hit - (1D20+4)

(1) + 4 = 5

Damage - (1D6+1)

(6) + 1 = 7

Apr 27, 2020 5:21 am
Hehsh watches garth qorth his blow. He will slam both fist on the table, let out his best dragon roar, which comes out as a still intimidating reptilian hiss, complete with dripping fangs.
OOC:
is this a group fight, or a one on one thing?

Rolls

intimidate - (1d20+7)

(17) + 7 = 24

Apr 27, 2020 6:21 am
Mavis growls at Garth,
Gi o'er! Pack it in!

Like a primary school teacher Mavis holds up a single finger to Garth, and offers a shrug to the orc as if to say:
Murder hobs eh? What can you do?

Sweeping her hand back towards Ruby, Mavis offers the little one for sacrifice.
Try the mighty mite...

Grinning evilly, and without taking her eyes off the orc, Mavis says loudly over her shoulder to Ruby
..but mind tha don't 'ave 'im for supper when tha's done brayin' on 'im.
OOC:
If Ruby, with an extra attack, flurry of blows, stunning strike etc can't take a single orc in a fist fight - then we're in real trouble. If she can, then we might be able to get some intel from these guys. With luck they'll be friendly once Ruby has softened them up.
Apr 27, 2020 12:25 pm
The orc ducks from the staff blow and goes for a retaliatory punch.

The other orcs are holding back cheering their buddy on in his duel with Garth, but Hehsh's roar takes some of the fun out of it for them.

Rolls

Punch (4 dmg) - (1d20+5)

(7) + 5 = 12

Apr 27, 2020 5:01 pm
Ruby almost spits up some of her drink as Mavis so kindly offers Ruby for a duel. And here she was going to enjoy the spectacle, seeing as everything hadn't devolved to a full on brawl. "I'm not a mite." She turns to gives Mavis an "accusatory" look, but ultimately decides it's better not to be scared of such a few tough customers.

Sighing she hops down from her seat, pulling out her staff she spins it a few times in front of her before assuming a more relaxed stance. "You don't have to fight if you don't want to, no pressure!" She shouts genuinely over the current brawl.
Apr 27, 2020 5:05 pm
Another orc will accept her challenge. "Kick the kobold!" He shouts which quickly becomes the rallying cry for his raucous friends.

Ruby can attack first.
Apr 27, 2020 5:21 pm
Mavis takes up the chant
Kick t' kobold! Kick t' kobold!

When asked later, she'll claim that it was part of team-building exercise to help the party forge a relationship with the orcs.
Whilst chanting, she attempts to move into, through and then behind the orcs. Just in case it all has to get a bit "stabby".
Apr 27, 2020 5:44 pm
Rather then pointing out how rude that is Ruby springs to action, attacking with a four point series of strikes against her challenger, followed by a flick kick, and finally a staff uppercut.
OOC:
I would like to use Stunning strike DC 13.

OOC:
Now is a great time to mention that Ruby still has a ton of temporary HP stored from her previous exploits. Am I still keeping it? Also assuming this is a simple back and forth fight.

Using flurry of blows.
Ruby spins backwards from the hit, but she uses the momentum to bring her staff around again, smacking it against their hip. Not yet done she jabs it into their belly, and uses the staff as a vault to kick him in the face. "Kobold kick you!" Instead of flying past his head however she somehow pushes off him instead, leaping back with a flip in a showy display of athleticism.

As Ruby delivers her blistering combination, and knowing orcs’ respect for strength, Mavis changes the chant in the hope the orcs will take it up.
Kobold kick you
Kobold kick you
Kobold kick you
OOC:
I’ll make a persuasion roll in case it helps get the orcs to cheer for Ruby.

Rolls

Kobold kick you! - (1d20+7)

(7) + 7 = 14

Apr 29, 2020 6:32 am
Hehsh will cast a minor illusion of a kobold kicking an orc mid air and have it animate go in time with Mavis's chant. Sort of like an animated neon sign. The kobold is doing a spin kick.
Apr 29, 2020 12:12 pm
Garth raps the orc with the staff.

Beside him, Ruby reacts to the sword with a series of bone breaking strikes that send the orc craving into the wall; he falls lies bloody and still on the floor.

The first orc sees the display and holds up his hands, stepping away and ending combat.

The orcs friends check the man, but it's hopeless. Two drag him to the front door and toss him outside (after taking his coins).

"Kobold kick you!" They take up the chant, and begin to laugh and joke with you, congratulating Ruby on a great fight.
Apr 29, 2020 12:20 pm
Mavis winces at Ruby's brutal assault muttering an ecky thump as the orc slides down the wall.
She gets back into character and shouts a GRUUMSH! to send the warrior on his way.
As the tide of bonhomie (bonorcie?) washes around the room, she tries to start up a few casual conversations about what everybody is up to (without probing too deeply).
