Seeing nothing at the bottom of the cliffs Aduan steps over to the others. "Those trees are a likely spot for our wayward priests. Where there's on there could be the missing parts. Won't hurt to look." Aduan glances at the Aeon Priest to see if she agrees or might even join them.

Rodia shakes her head, "I have to stay here. Maybe they'll return. Please hurry, I'm worried they're in trouble. And thank you."
Apr 1, 2020 10:25 pm
Unsure of how to handle the situation with just Rohim responding to the howl, Kaseeh also prepares for a fight, wherever it may come from.
Apr 2, 2020 6:50 am
"Alright, let's just do this." Raezhon removes her bow from her pack, flicks her wrist, and it snaps open and locks in place. She strings it with synthcord as she walks toward the trees.

Are you all headed to the woods and the fearsome howling?
Apr 2, 2020 4:41 pm
OOC:
If nothing comes out of the woods after a bit, Kaseeh will cautiously approach to investigate the source of the howling

Nim chuckles confidently to himself as he watches Rohim prepare for the upcoming ordeal. "That's what I like about you Rohim, no nonsense, always itching for a fight. Haha!" Nim readies his sisk and turns towards the direction of the howling. " I suppose this isn't quite the time for splitting up. Will you be alright on your own here? He posits to the priest.
OOC:
I'm up for the howling beasties but if anyone thinks it's better to go investigate the third direction or etc. I'm most likely the least combat essential at the moment.

OOC:
Splitting up seems needlessly dangerous for now
Rohim is ready to haed to the copse with those in the group that want to.
Quote:
"That's what I like about you Rohim, no nonsense, always itching for a fight. Haha!"
"I try not to let fear lull me into mediocrity. And its always best not to let a unknown beast track you down while exploring." Answered Rohim with a subtle smirk.

Having heard the terrible howl long before they see it, you follow the sound, and find in one of the area’s few copses of trees, a large, six-legged elephantine creature lying on its side. It’s clear at a glance that the creature is in terrible pain due to something lodged deep in the pad of its foot.

What do you do?
Apr 5, 2020 7:15 pm
Do I know what kind of creature it is, or can I make any educated guesses about it based on visible traits? (i.e., teeth or claws that look predatory; defensive armor, etc that looks like an non-predator? I know I'm projecting our world norms onto the 9th World, which is dubious, but drawing on what Rae does know of 9th world fauna, what is my impression?)
OOC:
I'm trained in Training, Riding and Placating Natural Animals, if that has any bearing.

Raezhon is unfamiliar with this particular creature, but she can tell that it isn't rabid or predatory, merely in distress. It is armored with thick hide, and would be formidable if you had to face it.
Apr 5, 2020 7:50 pm
"It's hurt! I'm going to see what I can do to help it." Raezhon begins to move towards the creature, slowly, making soft comforting sounds and holding her hands up where it can see them. She looks over her should at her comrades. "Keep an eye out, its distress call may have alerted any predators nearby."

Rohim lower his bow. Still keeping at the ready, he get a good view of the foot, trying to determine what is lodged there.

Whispering to the group "Do we have something to keep this beast calm?"

The object embedded in it's paw looks like a rod with a crescent shape attached on one end.
Apr 5, 2020 9:05 pm
OOC:
Does it seems metallic and could it be a missing part of the altar?
Apr 5, 2020 9:07 pm
The object does bear striking similarities to the style and material composition of the altar.
Apr 5, 2020 9:51 pm
I'm going to approach the beast's injured foot - very slowly and cautiously - and inspect the object.
Apr 5, 2020 9:53 pm
Removing the object will be tricky; this is a wild animal, no matter how intelligent the eyes look. However, it seems willing to give you the smallest benefit of the doubt.
OOC:
Removing it will be a level 3 difficulty.

OOC:
Ok, I'm going to give it a shot. I'll use Effort, and can I take my Trained in Placating Natural Animals as an asset?
Apr 5, 2020 11:03 pm
OOC:
That sounds appropriate
