OOC:
Just as before, since PC interactions may be a bit long and, at this point, exclude other players from the game, I've opened this thread for Ceebee's reply to Josephine. You can RP as much as you'd like. Anything your characters learns from this interaction will give you a +1 bonus on a suitable roll. I'll keep all threads linked so we don't get lost: Interaction 2
bowlofspinach says:
As Josephine walks the deck, she notices one man in particular who is staring at her intently, a very overweight sailor.
She wants to instinctively retreat behind her guard for safety when another sailor, this one almost grotesquely muscular and strong-looking, comes up to the fat one and slaps him across the face, scolds him for staring and threatens him with the witch's curse - hopefully well-intentioned but still potetially dangerous to her.
The fat sailor notices that Josephine watched his humiliation and wanders off with an angry frown on his face. She is not quite sure whether that anger is directed at her or at the other sailor but after the fat man is gone, she walks up to the muscular sailor and says: "Im Josephine Cominero, the master of inventory's wife. What is your name?" She looks in the direction that the fat man disappeared in and says: "Thank you for this, though I doubt he has learned his lesson. Who is this man?"[/b]

"Uriah," CeeBee expalins in a single word in response to the enquiry of his name, not looking at Josephine when he says it, or extending his hand for an introduction. "CeeBee Uriah. And there's no need to be thankful for nothin', cause it weren't for your sake I corrected the man. So far as I'm concerned you're going to cause a lot of problems on this trip, an' it ain't cause I b'lieve you to be no witch, neither. But half o' this crew does think it, and th' other three quarters of 'em think you're just a fine piece of tail to squabble over, and the whole lot of us know you're gonna be trouble one way or th' other whether you encourage it or not. Now we ain't even out past our neck in the water already an' fat shits like Belly over there forget how to tie a knot. Things are only going to get worse as the crew starts getting thristy, an' between you an' me, if I were captainin' this vessel you'd be locked in your cabin at all times unless we're on dry land, an' not runnin' around shakin' yer feathers at the men all day..."

As he addresses Josephine's questions, he tends speak and work simultaneously, crossing the deck back and forth, rolling in this line, letting the slack out others, keeping himself busy, and it becomes apparent he has yet to make eye contact with the woman. He does however glance around occasionally at other crewmen, though whether he's concerned by the men looking at her, the ones looking at him speaking with her, or both is unclear.

"Fair enough", Josephine replies. She doesn't like the way he is talking to her but decides not to mention it, for now. Still, her first impression of this man, which had been fairly positive, is quickly fading away. While CeeBee avoids looking at her, she studies him thoroughly. She wonders whether his behavior is actually motivated by disinterest or whether he is just trying to be disinterested in her. "I was warned there would be trouble, being a woman on board of this ship, but I underestimated it somewhat. Still, I wouldn't miss this expedition for the world."
She turns to look around and spots two sailors standing idly and staring at her instead of working. She stares back at them for a couple of seconds until they understand and get back to work, both red in the face.
"You need to get a better handle on these people", she says to CeeBee. "You can blame me all you want but the fact of the matter is, most of these sailors are undisciplined and easily distracted. If I was in my cabin, they would be staring off at the sunset, at a fish in the water or at each other."
She puts a hand on CeeBee's shoulder, acting as if it is a casual gesture while actually very curious how he will react. "I do not want to cause you and your people any difficulties but if the sailors can't behave themselves or can't do their work, I will make sure they are punished for it, not me."

CeeBee walks away from Josephine in order to escape her touch, refusing to make eye contact with her or any observing sailors.
