I guess the solution is just to join a bunch of different games 😋

You need to find a balance. For most games, that seems to be a post ever 1-2 days approximately but sometimes they're faster and sometimes slower.
I've had games where one poster is significantly slower than the others and then we usually find a way around it. The others don't go extremely fast and the slower one chimes in a bit less often than the others.
The pace usually establishes itself on its own, though the GM sometimes has to keep an eye on it and give the thread a push so it doesn't come to a halt.

I'm in one game where we have 2031 posts. It started on March 24, 2020 so we're averaging more than 60 posts per day with five six players and one GM.

Many games however end up being just a few posts per week.

Reading the pace of the game is a bit of an art. While it's great that everyone is very excited in the early posts, it can be easy to "storm out" players who have different schedules, which can lead to them becoming less involved and eventually dropping out. Keeping pace is more than just maxing out post throughput - it's making sure everyone is engaged and active, and there's a scene and a story coming out of it, making sure that no one is racing ahead, and no one is really dragging behind.

It ain't easy.
