We don't have a soldier yet. Thus far, we have a preacher (me), huckster, mad scientist, martial artist, and someone else thinking about a mad scientist. The only ones set in stone are the preacher and huckster.

I didn't know we already have a Mad Scientist. Should I steer away from that?

I am trying to be a gunslinger/lawman, but I'm working on being different than skeptical_stun since he's also kinda a gunslinger as far as I can tell? Granted I don't know much but he has a lot of guns and gun skills. :)

Since I'm not married to the concept, I could steer towards something else if it would be good for the group overall. Not sure if skeptical_stun was talking about me, since I mentioned interest in playing a Mad Scientist but being new I was trying to steer clear of more complicated characters.

Frizzol mentioned a mad scientist as well.

I wouldn't be too worried about the gunslinger thing. It's the West, at a certain level nearly everyone is a gunslinger. To put it into fantasy terms, think of Burke as a paladin, half focused on gunslinging, half on the miraculous. There's enough martial abilities/skills that if you wanted to be a true gunslinger, you'd have plenty of narrative room.

Okay -- It seems what I want to run needs a slight tweak that may effect the already created players as well as something I want to bring the new players attention to since I just added it and that is as follows:

First per the normal guidelines Humans get to start with 1 Free Edge so the most number of Edges anyone will start with is 3. So if you had not taken this Free Edge or do not know about please adjust accordingly but be sure to let me know if this makes a change to the character especially if you are one of the two already in-game players.

Next this again can cause changes -- when looking at the Edge requirements all players will be considered Seasoned unless they took the Novice Hindrance (which I am not aware anyone has) this is to say that Rookie and Seasoned = Seasoned for now when selecting Extras but they do not equal each other when it comes to Grit. So again if this cause you to want to make a change to your character then feel free to do so just (if you have submitted it already) let me know that you have made changes and preferably what those changes were.

Final Note if you do take a Seasoned Extra please point it out as eventually some of the Extra will be Seasoned while some of those Seasoned will become Rookie level personally I feel some of these "Seasoned" ought to be available to help create a fully outlined character at the level I was looking for -- not quite fully Seasoned but not a Novice/Tenderfoot either.

Okay got some stuff done this weekend but the heat was enough to interfere with clarity and I did not get as much done as I was wanting to -- so posting my status since I was not able to fully address this one yet -- still I will be pushing it on my list as a gitter dun thing and I will thus gitter dun

Once I have the foundation set you will find that most of the time I will be able to respond post wise fairly timely (under normal circumstances).

No problem, things have been a little nuts everywhere. The next few days on my end are just a jumble of "We'll just figure it out as we go along" with no plan because of how little can be planned for.

I thought being an adult would be more fun than this :P

roflmao -- well it is fun ;) assuming you enjoy constant change -- so if that is your life then awesome -- I mean its whole lot better than routinely and monotonously boring -- as that is like being in a rut and they say the only difference between a rut and a grave is its dimensions

If we could find something between "solitary confinement-level boring" and "5 toddlers with switchblades", that would be good.

Things aren't that bad, honestly. I'm taking 2 big exams within about 6 days of each other, plus pandemic-related stuff, so I'm just tired and cranky.

Things have been chaotic here too. I'll have time either this evening or tomorrowmorning to finish things up

I hope we are all still here -- as things are getting real close to getting completed -- I am going to introduce John Love in place of the last lost character and adjust the the previous posts accordingly.

The other two characters I have figured out how best to include them and they will be showing up a bit later -- hopefully they will both be done by then.

Also skeptical_stun and especially WhtKnt you might want to look at the additional Edges I have added if any of them seem interesting I will add the details to them I missed these because they do not show up with the rest of the Edges but are put in as part of the description of the Arcane Background

I think I'm going to bow out of this one, folks. I know that the medium allows for a certain amount of slow play, but I think I need something a little quicker, and I only let myself join a certain number of games, no matter the speed.

Well there have been no posts for 3 weeks, so I kinda assume this game is dead.

No the GM has been struggling with RL and getting the brain to function enough to make posts -- I posted that in the Absence thread on here in hopes to touch everyone with a single post.

Okay I have been slowly getting my games back up online and keeping them fairly steady and can now bring this one back up online as well -- I hope you are all still with me on this -- as it does look like a interesting story to be told here
