Look chummer. I have no doubt you are better than these meat shields...but so am I. Now, we could cut each other to ribbons and we could destroy millions in machines and lost business...or ypu could kindly ask Tetsuo to have a short meeting with us. You have my word that I won't try anything.

He looks in disdain at the regular guards.

People like ypu an I are nothing if our word is not trusted.

OOC:
It's time for a roll! Consider if Manipulate or Make Them Sweat is better.

OOC:
Not sure if it makes a difference, but I will go with make them sweat

Rolls

Don't think I have any pluses - (2D6)

(35) = 8

OOC:
Make Them Sweat is a roll+Combat, so you have a +2, for a solid 10 on the roll. This means you get +1 forward on them, ie. you get to add +1 to your next roll against these mooks.
The three guards watched the showdown between Jack and their leader, ready to spring into action, while still giving them a wide berth. Eunbyeol could almost sense the wired reflexes in the man in chrome coil up to unleash. He sized Jack up, but Jack's words rang true. "A gaijin who knows the code. Your honour is your word." The man tilted his head in a slight bow, almost as if in approval. In many ways, the way of the samurai was still the law of the land, even amongst the yakuza. To cross it is to lose face and bring dishonour to oneself and one's clan. "Come." Another nod of his head signaled to the henchmen to follow behind as he led both Jack and Eunbyeol through the door and into a short corridor.

They reached a room, an office, functional in decor. Security camera screens lined one wall, watching the game floor, and the team on duty monitored the proceedings. Further in was a small room. Jack and Eunbyeol entered to find a dwarf, decked in fur and leather, with a pointed beard, swept back hair, and an ocular implant which substituted one of his eyes. The security man had already signaled their arrival, and the cameras confirmed that.

"I don't know you, nor have I been told to expect you. Business, or personal?" The dwarf's tone was curt, impatient.

OOC:
Jack would for sure leave this part to Eunbyeol
May 18, 2020 2:05 pm
"I'll get straight to the point. I'm looking for BTLs." Eunbyeol spoke directly and quickly, before the dwarf could dismiss her for bothering him with such a trivial matter. "Not the street versions. I need the Hi-V5 ones, and I'm told you know someone who deals in them." She paused, not revealing the name of the dealer yet, so as not to rouse suspicion.

The dwarf looked at the gaijin troll and the Asian woman before him, clearly neither of them were natives. "Very specific. And very bold to barge your way in. You're not police. You're not ninkyo. Who do you represent? " The dwarf sized them up. It was the way of the business.
May 20, 2020 6:55 pm
"Myself. A friend in the states told me that there's been an opening in the Vegas market, and I want it. There's a lot of market for foreign chips. The same blonde gets boring after 15 trips, even if she is good. I have contacts on both sides, and I don't mind sharing profits if it makes me money."
May 21, 2020 1:51 pm
"Yourself, with no references." The dwarf snorted. "Well, before I deal with random off-the-street weefles who think they know a thing or two about the biz, I need proof you're somebody who won't go splat on the street, even with your ugly boyfriend protecting you. I burn through dealers by the dozen every month, what makes you different?"
OOC:
Falconloft, time for your roll. Manipulate or Make Them Sweat, or something else?
May 21, 2020 6:45 pm
Eunbyeol leaned down to the dwarf so she was eye-level. It wasn't very far, but the lean made it seem like it should be. Her smile disappeared about as fast as her sword did the opposite. "I also don't mind moving up the chain if it makes me money. I'm getting what I want either way."
OOC:
Make Them Sweat seems appropriate.

not sure of helping rolls is a thing

Yes it is! Roll Make It Rain. You have a Bond with Eunbyeol, through Joe. So +1.
[ +- ] Fuck It Up / Make It Rain

just a roll holder.

Rolls

Make it rain - (2D6+1)

(22) + 1 = 5

May 24, 2020 1:38 pm
OOC:
An 8 on Make Them Sweat is a weak success, it means they either do what you say, get the hell out, or attack you. That 5 on a Make It Rain though is a fail. Machiabelly, mark 1 XP on your sheet.
Eunbyeol had decided to get straight to the point to show that she meant business. The moment she pulled her sword out though, the rest of the guards did the same. Two of them had straight-edged knives, and the chromer sported a retractable arm blade. Jack had popped his claws out, but that didn't seem to faze any of them at all. These people were used to things escalating quickly, and were immediately ready for the fight. Joe wasn't wrong about them at all.

The dwarf flashed Eunbyeol a grin of gold teeth. "Who sent YOU?!"
OOC:
Combat! Unless you want to try something else. Jack had Situational Awareness, so it is a given that he'd act first. Eunbyeol also has Danger Sense, which you may or you not want to use. The relevant combat rolls are Rock & Roll, or Stay Frosty.

Why does it always come to this?

The chromed up guy is the obvious threat. Jack takes a swing at him with his hand razors.

Rolls

Snik - (2D6+2)

(35) + 2 = 10

Damage - (1D4)

(3) = 3

May 25, 2020 3:10 pm
The fact that they were all situated in close quarters meant that Jack brought his razors to bear quicker than the chromer could swing at him. With his height advantage his jab caught the man squarely at the left side of his face; it was only his quick reflexes that saved him from a severed head.

Over at the table, the dwarf had tackled Eunbyeol's torso to prevent her from bringing her jingum to bear against him. One of the goons had laid his hands on her, trying to pull her away before knifing her. The remaining goon circled Jack, looking for an opening to attack while he was preoccupied with the chromer.
OOC:
With a strong success roll of 10 Jack does 3 damage to the tinman, and avoids a return attack. Over at Eunbyeol and the dwarf, damage is happening both ways. Machiabelly, roll to attack again, unless you're opting for some other move.
May 25, 2020 5:48 pm
OOC:
If the chrome guy is still moving, I will attack him again. Otherwise, the guy circling me.
Jack flicks the blood off his razors and goes looking for more

Rolls

Snik - (2D6+2)

(54) + 2 = 11

Damage - (1D4)

(4) = 4

May 26, 2020 1:28 pm
The punch-up was over even before it begun. Jack had easily shrugged off the glancing blow that the chromer threw at him, and countered with an uppercut that threw him right into the path of the circling goon, leavin them both staggering. Eunbyeol was bleeding on her arm, but had the dwarf in a headlock. The other henchman stood watching warily, not daring to make a move.

"So what now baka? You come in and bust me up, and then what? I cut you in? " The dwarf struggled to spew the words out of his mouth. "So we do business. You want to be a pusher, a mule, what?"
May 26, 2020 8:30 pm
"Oh no. Not now." She squeezes his head. "You owe me for my arm. So now you stay with me, where I can see you, until I get a guarantee from your supplier. Most guys don't like doing business with people who can't protect their assets, so now I'm your partner, or I explain to your boss why I should be your replacement and I use my sword and your body to do it. You pick."
May 26, 2020 9:22 pm
Jack takes the combat axe off his back. He figures he won't have to use it now, but he has found it makes him look even more intimidating.

He looks at the muscle.

Fight time is over. Right gentlemen?
May 27, 2020 3:10 pm
"I'm just the middleman, you want a supplier, Hi-V5 chips come from Shosen, corp wageslave who knows a thing or two, there you go. You can find him at his usual hangout, Kamebara. But you're dead meat chummer, whether or not you hook up with me. You want the boss, that's the Watada-gumi, they don't take kindly you waltzing in their territory and busting me up." The dwarf spat the information out, not caring what Eunbyeol made of it. The other henchmen stood by warily, eyeing Jack, but making no move. The chromer lay bleeding out on the carpeted floor, quiet except for the faint whirr of his servos.
