Seftan peers down the hallway and sees that the door frames (including the ones that don't have doors) are strange and show in multiple planes of existence, as if they can be activated somehow to open a gate to another plane.

"I've never broken into another dimension before," Ælfric said with a mixture of excited anxiety. "Should I open the other door and see what's down there before we venture beyond the veils behind this one?"

"Let's pick our poison after seeing what's behind door number two," Ælfric suggested. He moved over to the other door that was both locked and trapped, stood to the side, and carefully used his tools to neutralize its defenses and open it. "It's always good to have options."

Aelfric spends several frustrating minutes working at the lock, but in the end finds that he can't get it open.

"As my woodland friends used to say, this one's a tough nut to crack," Ælfric tried to joke as a means of hiding his disappointment. "Maybe the other one will have more give to it."
He moved to the first door and looked down its corridor, took a deep breath, and walked down it to check out the obviously material door. He examined the other door frames as he passed, too.
"Some help, please, Erevan Ilesere," he muttered as he called on his god for guidance.
Reliable Talent makes that Arcana 20.
Please put the Guidance roll wherever it'll do the most good, DM. :P

As soon as Aelfric steps into the hall, there's a sound of grinding stone as the two statues at the end of the hall each take a step forward, arms raised to strike the interloper. Their footfalls shake the ground and drown out pretty much all of the noise as they move through the hall toward you.

Elayna's spectral hand reaches out toward the golems as Aelfric slams the door shut and locks it quickly. The loud footsteps approach up to the door and then there's silence.
