Had a chat with handle about my character, theres still some minor details that need to be ironed out ie vision, race traits (very unfair if i get two characters worth of race traits) etc thats why I didn't put everything in

Hey guys. I will have a look at creating characters and get them up tonight (morning here now)

I am envious of your idea of how you're presenting multiple one-off games; I had a similar idea with my "Dungeon Busters" series of games, but I haven't even come close to completing the first one yet! I love the idea of a rotating roster of characters accepting and attempting missions.

The whole subreddit is listing for 'jobs' with a date and time, and everyone in the forum with a character can apply. Every job is a separate one-shot, and players are essentially randomized each time.
I also wanted to run a game with a setting that the DnD system was designed to play (or at least what I feel it was based on the PHB and DMG): a vast wilderness with some magic and civilization sprinkled in. Also sandworms, I want some sandworms.

And 2 characters per player! :-)I also thought about having an 'rest period' for the characters that just completed a mission, just so we wouldn't have the same 4 characters each time.
Either way, having options is fun. Some days you want to be the charismatic leader, and sometimes you want to just kill things with a hunk of sharp metal.

Instead of a rest period I just decided to start the next mission sign-up while the last one was nearing completion. It's supposed to be a casual experience, not one where I tract a bunch of timers. :P
It'll also be a fun way to try out interesting builds, as there isn't much pressure or need to create a min-maxed masterpiece.
I'll be sure to toss confetti in the air at the start of each mission to remind everyone to have fun. xD

Just so everyone knows my character is a two in one, multiclass based on the mad max character master blaster, the whole multiclassing thing nearly came to a halt with my rolls for the master type character as I barely got 13 you need for the multiclassing with the added 2 intelligence from gnome (no sub race bonus and no primary bonus for Goliath which I spoke to Handle about) just to clarify technically one character, one attack, if one attacks the other cant that turn, so if I do a spell with the gnome wizard I cannot use the Goliath barbarian for a attack, they share the same HP, as you can see by the rolls solo they have three main stats which the other doesn't have, the other stats are three, so seperated they have massive disadvantage on what the other has, Goliath is the body, gnome is the brain, I already know something is going to happen
Mar 10, 2016 11:10 am
Did I tell you guys that you could re-roll any 1's?
...
You can re-roll 1's for your stats. Roll 4d6, take the highest 3, re-roll 1's.
Whoops~

Mechanically speaking, and for clarity, how would saving throws be applied to MasterBlaster? For example, if someone casts Hold Person on the goliath, he'd have to save on his Wisdom of 3 even if the gnome is attached? If someone hits the gnome with a dart while he is concentrating on a spell, he'd have to save on his Constitution of 3?

Cool. I'm going to be thinking of Alchemist the entire time that character (those characters?) are out and about.

Which (if any) of the optional Combat Options from the DMG (pg 271-272) are you implementing, Handle?
*Climb onto a bigger creature
*Disarm
*Marlk
*Overrun
*Shove aside
*Cleaving through creatures
*Tumble
I am equally ok with all, some or none of the above being in play. I just want to know how you intend to run things so we're on the same page. Thanks! :-)

Can someone explain the Druid spells, everytime I feel like I get a grasp of it I end up just confusing myself more, I think the tl;dr is that I have a certain amount of spells and when I'm done with them I have to rest to get the number of spells back up, is it like the old wizards that everyone was complaining about? I wanna know 100% if I got the grips of this or not lol

Druids (and clerics) have all spells available to them. Each day, you prepare a small subset of those spells, and these are what you have available to cast. You are limited by the number of spell slots as far as how often you can cast, but so long as you have a spell slot available you can cast one of the spells you have prepared.
So, for your Druid spells, you have everything under 1st and 2nd level on page 208 of the PHB available to you.
You can prepare a number of spells to cast, which is equal to your WIS modifier plus your druid level. For example, if your Wisdom is 16, you have a +3 modifier, add to your level (3), and you have 6 spells you can prepare. You choose these 6 spells from the list on page 208. You can pick any number of spells to prepare from the 1st and 2nd level lists, so you could have three 1st and three 2nd, or one 1st and five 2nd.
At level 3, you have four 1st-level spell slots and two 2nd-level spell slots. These determine how often you can cast those spells you just prepared.
Prepared spells stay with you until you decide you want to prepare a different set, which requires a long rest and meditation of 1 minute per spell level of the spell you want to prepare.
You can cast your prepared spells a number of times equal to your spell slots. So if you wanted to, you could have Cure Wounds prepared and cast it 4 times at 1st-level and 2 times at 2nd-level.
Taking a long rest restores your spell slots.

Hey guys, I am immersing myself in 5th edition (coming from 2nd!!!). Im making a simple character as my first one (Dwarf fighter). I've already have a question. The mountainhome dwarf gets a +2 STR, but he gets the dwarf +2 CON as well?
Any advice you can give me on 5th, I'd be happy to hear them
Cheers,

Hi there, Kerm! Welcome!
Yes, a mountain dwarf gets both + STR and +2 CON. Dwarven fighters are awesome! If you have any other questions don't hesitate to ask. I started with AD&D back in the 80's myself but am really enjoying 5th edition.
Since we're playing 3rd level your fighter will already have an archetype. Have you decided whether you're playing a Battlemaster, Champion or Eldritch Knight?

I have a dragonborn sorcerer named Thacogygax that I play in one of Spaceseeker19's games! :-)

I'll be flying to the east coast on Thursday, so I'll be out for a couple of days due to jet lag and whatnot. Will post again soon!
May 28, 2016 2:29 pm
It is! I was just patiently waiting for the current party to do something. Maybe a bit too patiently, seeing as you were the only one who posted something. I'll start prodding again, now that my life isn't so busy.

Whoops. From the way we left it, I thought we were just going to be heading forward. My bad.

Mission #2: Tomb of the Necrodancer is still locked, and no mission posting yet, but am filing my application. :-)

I'll post it up when it gets discovered, some missions/submissions will come from outside interactions instead of Tsira alone. :0

Yeah, Necrodancer is a favorite game of mine, so I wanted to run a a game with a similar theme. Dunno how well it will work out though! :P

I am leaving for Cedar Point tomorrow morning (Friday, July 29th) and won't get back until late Sunday night (July 31st). I'll be recuperating on Monday, so my posting may be slow until Tuesday.

I'll be gone for a few days everyone, I'm sorry, but I've had a death in the family.
Sep 16, 2016 11:20 am
So sorry I've been out guys, been absolutely swamped. One thing after another, you know how it is. I should be able to make posts again starting on Monday at the latest!
Oct 2, 2016 4:45 am
It totally, totally is. I've just been completely swamped by work and college. I feel lame making excuses, but god damn it's been busy. Highlights include: setting up and managing a food booth for a two day festival in which 200,000 Japanese local nationals come onto base, removing and reinstalling a 400 lb safe for a general because his aide wanted new carpet to be installed in his house, fixing 20 discrepancies in a networking facility before the inspection, and reworking my shop's procedures because doing work is apparently just a suggestion to the people I supervise.
Anyway, vent over. I'm actually writing new posts right now. Hooray!

I will be extremely busy the next three days. I may be able to make short posts now and then, but can't promise anything. Go ahead and move my characters along and roll for me if necessary. Thanks!

Have a good Thanksgiving! I should be back to posting regularly after I finish gorging myself.
Dec 1, 2016 9:39 am
I had been expecting more NPC deaths, so I checked all your alignments to see what the deal was. So many neutral/lawful good types! Your characters are all pretty friendly, maybe because they came from fancy civilized places with running water and health care...

Give me time, I have a mean streak, I need more "reasons" though ;)

Hi, all! I've fallen ill and my doctor says I should take the weekend off from work but that sure as heck isn't happening as I have two wedding cakes to finish! So I can't guarantee any posts. If I survive the weekend I'll get back to posting Sunday evening (that's Sunday morning for most of you). HAndle, please feel free to move Valrakas forward in the meantime. Thanks!

Still alive, just busy. Flew back to the states for a week, and when I got back to Japan I worked the 12 hour night shift. Just got back to my normal schedule today, woo!
Apr 10, 2017 10:20 pm
Hi all. I think I'm going to step away from the game. It's been fun, but unfortunately I haven't been very motivated to do PbP lately, and I don't want to be the one hanging around while others are trying to keep the story going. I appreciate the game and hope everyone continues to enjoy it! Good luck and good game!

I'm already chest-deep in preps for Mother's Day weekend, which is traditionally an extremely busy time at the cake shop. I'll still pop up here and there but will be unreliable at best. So if I start holding things up please go ahead and move my PC's along. Thanks!
