Character building

I edit my post and added a bit about a paladin raising as you post in your background. It would be fine for a fighter, but not a paladin.

I've withdrawn the paladin and submitted an Elven Arcane Archer instead. Urban Bounty Hunter background. Has spent way too much time in the city, picked up many nasty un-elfish habits. Found out about the job because he's good at sniffing out jobs.

EDIT: I just remembered the Encumbrance rule is in effect here so I may need to give up some items from the starting equipment pack that I don't need anyway. Can we sell them back? Unlike the paladin this character does care about money.

Same as before.. take any reasonable non-magical and not special material gear. Choose one magic item common or possibly uncommon. When your done, you have 100gp in your pocket.

Efficient Quiver for my magic item. It's there on the sheet. I'm asking about selling extra gear gotten from starting package.

EDIT: nevermind I get what you mean now just select items and end up with 100gp in pocket. Understood.

You are 5th level.. there is no need to use the first level starting packages from class or background. There is no need for buy back or selling. You have what you wrote down and 100gp in the pocket. Only calculation you need to do is encumbrance. And think about placement. Backpack and pouches only hold so much.

Yes. I'm sorry I misunderstood at first but I get it now. My character is ready now I think.

Smiles.. I still like to put a trinket or two on my character too for extra flavor.

From the PHB Trinkets table? Should I roll or just pick something interesting?

LOL. I have never rolled. I just browse and pick what I like. Usually something more portable.

Aratashir (ancient.astronaut.64) Where is your Skill Versatility from being a Half-Elf? For Arcane Archer Lore I see you need to choose either Prestidigitation or Druidcraft cantrip? I see Message cantrip? By looks you took your Ability Score Improvement to increase your DEX, so where does Sharpshooter Feat come from?

Neither of you have any background information on your characters that I can see.

High Elf not half-elf. You're right I forgot to choose between prestidigitation and druidcraft for Arcane Archer Lore. Message is from the free racial cantrip. My background feature is there. Or if you mean my backstory I'm writing it but it's not one of those ten page tragic stories.

Need better glasses.. LOL.. High Elf. Smiles and I don't want to read 10 pages either.

His stats probably include the +1 human racial bonuses to any two stats.

By George I think you have it lenpelletier. No idea which two stats but that probably will make up the 4 point difference in stat Points.
