Magnus stops by each of the empty cells, sticking his torch into each one, trying to see if there's anything out of place.

Rolls

Perception Cell 1 - (1d20+4)

(19) + 4 = 23

Perception Cell 2 - (1d20+4)

(14) + 4 = 18

Perception Cell 3 - (1d20+4)

(13) + 4 = 17

Yrsa spots a half-orc that towers over the rest, she had a pissed off look on her face. She also looks incredibly similar to Tarl, except with more feminine features and thicker eyebrows. This must be his sister, Yujo.

Meanwhile, Magnus slowly searches the cells. Each wave of the torch reveals little, these cells are completely barren - clean even. Once he reaches the end of the room, he notices that both torches are now lit. Strange, he could've sworn there was only one lit when the part first entered the room. Inspecting the wall with the torches further, he notices a trail of yellowish slime that leads to the ceiling. However, the ceiling is too high for him to see in the darkness.

OOC:
How many prisoners are here in total? Follow-up question, did we find out where the armory is?
Dec 19, 2016 4:35 pm
"Yrsa, come here and look at this," Magnus says, pointing to the trail of slime, "Your eyes are better than mine. Perhaps you can see what's up there?"
Dec 19, 2016 4:39 pm
The pirate turns, eye lingering on Yujo with more than a passing interest. She finally leaves, approaching Magnus and looking where indicated. Yrsa is about to make a distasteful remark about the slime and Magnus' personal hygiene, but catches her words as she focuses on the trail leading upward to the ceiling.

On the ceiling is a very large, ochre jelly. It's surprising to see one in the desert. It's slowly heading towards the cage filled with prisoners.

Yrsa's eye widens. "Ooze!" she calls out as a warning. She tosses the keys to Leilara. "It's coming after them! Be ready!"

Tapping deep into her psyche, Yrsa's false eye 'opens' and a dark power wells up, expanding her senses to Hex the ooze above. The energy flows down her shoulders to her fingertips, and she releases it as a whip-like beam of arcane force.
OOC:
Hex will afflict the ooze's Strength checks

Rolls

Eldritch Blast, Damage, Hex - (1d20+6, 1d10+4, 1d6)

1d20+6 : (10) + 6 = 16

1d10+4 : (8) + 4 = 12

1d6 : (1) = 1

Dec 20, 2016 9:05 am
OOC:
Go ahead and roll initiative for the party, Yrsa.
Yrsa's spell nails the jelly, causing it to fall down to the ground. It lands on top of a cell and slips though the bars. The slaves in the cells start to panic wildly, but some seem to be accepting of their fate.

Rolls

Ooze Initiative - (1d20-2)

(4) - 2 = 2

Prisoners - (1d20)

(20) = 20

Dec 20, 2016 2:33 pm
Leilara catches the keys with a startled look.

"Were those teeth... ooze cleaned?! GROSS."

Leilara thinks for a second, then decides that it's worth the risk. She skips over to the cell and attempts to unlock the prisoners' cage.

Rolls

Initiative! - (1d20+4)

(9) + 4 = 13

Dec 22, 2016 6:25 am
OOC:
You can unlock the cell, just waitin on Yrsa to do initiative since she started the fight.
Dec 22, 2016 6:26 am
OOC:
Oh, sorry! I figured Leilara rolled initiative so we'd use that instead. I'll add the roll to this post.

Rolls

Initiative - (1d20)

(3) = 3

Dec 22, 2016 6:37 am
OOC:
So the order is:
Prisoners
Party
Ooze
Leilara manages to find the right key, and unlocks the cell that the ooze was headed towards. The last cell on the other side of the room is still full. In their panic, the prisoners bum-rush the door and stampede out. Leilara gets caught in the middle, as she was standing right in front of the door. (@Leilara - Roll a STR save to push back, or a DEX save to just get out of the way.)
Dec 22, 2016 12:46 pm
"Whoa WHOA be careful! I'm right here!"

Rolls

DEX Save to Dodge! - (1d20+4)

(20) + 4 = 24

Dec 23, 2016 6:43 am
Leilara gracefully leaps above the crowd and grabs onto the cell bars, keeping her far above the fray. The herd of prisoners quickly break down the door, and charge up the stairwell. However, it sounds like the guards are easily keeping them contained, and you hear what sounds like a few bodies being shoved back down the stairs.
OOC:
It's the party's turn!
Dec 23, 2016 6:48 am
Yrsa keeps the slime in view, launching another blast of eldritch energy.

Rolls

Eldritch Blast, Damage, Hex - (1d20+6, 1d10+4, 1d6)

1d20+6 : (9) + 6 = 15

1d10+4 : (5) + 4 = 9

1d6 : (3) = 3

Dec 23, 2016 6:48 am
Not seeing a way into the Cell, Magnus draws his crossbow and fires a bolt at the ooze.
Last edited December 23, 2016 2:44 pm

Rolls

Attack! - (1d20+5, 1d8+5)

1d20+5 : (16) + 5 = 21

1d8+5 : (7) + 5 = 12

Dec 23, 2016 7:24 am
OOC:
@Magnus - The cell is locked, unfortunately. You'll have to find a way in, or just attack with a ranged weapon.
Yrsa's blast hits, but the ooze takes it in stride.
OOC:
So each side of the room has three cages. The ooze is on the left side, and fell into the middle cage (which is why the prisoners panicked). The ooze is currently closes to Leilara, as she is near the door of the first cage. Just thought I would clarify if someone was confused.
Dec 23, 2016 2:41 pm
OOC:
Sorry, my bad. Change the attack roll to 20 and damage to 9 and that's an attack from my crossbow. I'll adjust my post
Dec 23, 2016 5:18 pm
Leilara takes one look at the approaching ooze and makes a quick decision.

"NOPE. Nopenopenopenope...nopenopenopenopenope"

In her muttering, other strange words appear. As her hair shifts colors once again, she focuses on the ooze, sending a fearsome vision its way.
OOC:
Casting Phantasmal Force on the ooze! It must make an INT save vs. 14! Otherwise it believes itself to be trapped in a small room and will start taking d6 Psychic on its turn.

Rolls

Wild Magic Surge! - (1d20)

(12) = 12

Dec 23, 2016 10:38 pm
OOC:
@Leilara - What exactly is the illusion you are creating? To take damage it needs to be something dangerous. This spell is a bit tricky because oozes are so dumb, it'll think 'find small hole to escape' and start looking for an escape route by rubbing all over. Since the illusion isn't actually real, it'll easily pass through. You can take a different action instead, since the spell really have the desired effect on an ooze.
Magnus's arrow lodges itself firmly into the large ooze.

Rolls

Ooze INT - (1d20-4)

(10) - 4 = 6
