What Kind of Characters Do You Play?

I mean I'm brand new to roleplaying/D&D/character making, but I have two characters and a third that's like half fleshed out, but I've noticed that it's hard for me to show my sarcastic or my *witchy* side with these characters. They have to be nice and presentable in their behaviors. I've been so ingrained since childhood to always show your good side that it isn't until I've known someone a long time that I can fully be myself.

I also have realized with my protective side comes out whether my character is supposed to be. My ranger isn't supposed to be a more...confrontational character but I almost wrote her as one when someone started messing with the gnome in our group, a character that reminds me of a kid.
