this discussion as it relates to this game.
Yeah IMO the feats require too huge an investment. This was somewhat the case in D&D 3.5 but more so in PF from what I've seen. I'm not sure yet how I feel about the combat maneuver system. The way I envision Toshi, he's an opportunist on the battlefield. Whether or not it triggers a sneak attack, he's going to try to shut you down in unexpected way:, trip, disarm, and yes, dirty tricks. But I don't want to have to take feats to do these things. What I'm really after is interesting roleplay rather than mechanical advantage (although, who doesn't like mechanical advantage?). At most I might take Agile Maneuvers, but I think we've established that with a light finess-able weapon Toshi can use DEX instead of STR for calculating his CMB?
