2x original cost. It also then costs more to enchant later (+2000), which is a one off payment.

For those not used to DR - Damage Resistance. It has a number and that number is taken off every non-energy damage dealt to the creature, however most have something that 'overcomes the DR. Whether the attack is magic, of a certain material, alignment, or deals a certain type of damage. (Piercing, bludgeoning, slashing). If the tatack meets the requirments, it ignores DR.

For example Werewolves ar DR 10/silver. A normal sword attack does 10 less damage, but a silver sword doesn;t care.
Skeletons are 5/bludgeoning. Slashing and stabbing takes a bit for work, but smashing with a club shatters them.

In Demons case their DR number changes, but it's overcome with cold iron and/or 'good'. We'll touch on good later when you guys start getting to the levels it's feasible. Basically there are different abilities etc that lets a weapon overcome DR good

Edit: Also Squadfather do you have discord? If so you can jump over to the group discord where I may be a bit more on the ball answering questions.

I have discord and I joined the group for this game. Thanks for the quick reply though.

Sorry that was me being sleepy. It's Funfungiguy who hasn't joined yet.

No worries, it's all good.

Some choices I'm looking at

A gnome summoner, who can summon a celestial cat
A gnome gunslinger, shotgun gnome uses his size and shotgun's recoil to escape and at the same time attack enemies. (I just made up that recoil thing, dunno if such thing is possible in pathfinder hehe)
A gnome barbarian, cause I like making small races wield big ass weapons

and yeah, they're all gnomes. (Most of my characters across all RPG games are gnomes haha including this account's avatar which is something I drew years ago.)

Hi Ken.

We've got two smashy types but you can always play a barbarian if ya want but it may not be as fun for ya. Be sure to check Light's rulings on summoner if you go that way. A gunslinger would be cool but I don't see the recoil thing being possible.

Welcome!

Thanks Eggelis.

The idea about the barbarian was that he's a scholar carrying a big hardbound book of lore he'd bash his enemies with. But I think this concept is also ok with the summoner class wherein the book was the eidolon, kinda like the monster book of monsters in Harry potter. I don't know what to add on the evolutions so it's (floating), it has no arms or limbs but it can have a mouth that can (bite), it's mouth can turn to pages that can record stuff in it. Dunno if such eidolon is ok with the GM, need to ask.

As for race, gnome's the default I go to. Is there another race that's small and has decent int-str-cha?

Pathfinder has a bunch of races. A ridiculous amount really. Most small races have a strength penalty. For those three stats gnome is probably your best bet honestly.

@Ken
Welcome to the game!
A few ideas: Not really a barbarian, but there's an Inquisitor archetype that goes off of Int instead of Wis and literally uses their holy book as a weapon: Living Grimoire. And there's an Anger Inquisition you can take which gives Rage (held back by a few levels, but it's still Rage!).
There's a Summoner archetype that is based around the storybook-like Harrowed Realm and pulls forth his eidolon as a Tarot/storybook flavored eidolon: Story Summoner.
And for Gunslinger there's the Gunslinger's Dodge deed that lets you react to incoming ranged attacks, which you could easily reflavor as a result of recoil, and there's the gnome-exclusive archetype: Experimental Gunsmith.

Eggellis says:

I have things to finish IRL today, might be able to finish a character tomorrow.
I'll go with gnome summoner cause it's cool. Sorry for the delay.

Almost done with Quaji Quaziver, the Gnome Summoner
I'm still deciding what the Eidolon should look like, don't know yet if I should go with the monster book idea. Lacks damaging skills but can support. Also has Bluff and Diplomacy (through Fey Thoughts racial trait) so he can negotiate or feint. Added cook as a profession so he can make soup when required.

As for story: he's an assistant 'monster' researcher/illustrator to a well renowned adventurer and 'monstrologist'. But his boss died (killed by a demon) and the 'bestiary' they worked on was destroyed. He'd risk going on adventures just so he can finish again his boss's work.

The summoner sounds cool, especially if you've got a big book following you around.

I've not looked at the summoner a lot but I just took a little glance. I think I'd go with a serpentine base form. No arms or legs but it gets a bite and tail slap. You could describe the tail slap as ramming into enemies. I'll have to look at stuff about recording stuff. May be possible idk yet. You could also go with the aberrant base form. It has tentacles which you could say extend out of the pages but that depends on whether you like the sound of that or not

Here's an Eidolon draft.
Quote:
Eidolon Name: Grimoire
Alignment: Lawful Neutral

Subtype: Shadow
At 1st level, shadow eidolons gain the resistance (cold) and resistance (electricity) evolutions. They also gain the ability to cast darkness as a spell-like ability three times per day. The caster level for this spell-like ability is equal to the eidolon’s Hit Dice.

Baseform: Quadruped (claws, limbs [legs, 2])
Starting Statistics: Size Medium; Speed: 40 ft.; AC: +2 natural armor; Saves: Fort (good), Ref (good), Will (poor); Attack: bite (1d6); Ability Scores: Str 14, Dex 14, Con 13, Int 7, Wis 10, Cha 11

Appearance: Grimoire's head is a thick book with pages that can turn to a mouth with shark like teeth. Its body is that of a wolf with pitch black fur. It has an eye located at the cover.

Evolution:
Tentacle (1d4), A shadow 'tongue' (Will add Reach to this later)

Feats:Dodge

Skills: Stealth, Intimidation, Acrobatics, Escape Artist

That sounds pretty cool.

Characters are looking good. Couple of things to pointout for everyone -> Using some house rules to boost the number of skills people get.

Classes that start with 2+int get 4+int, those that start with 4+ get 5+.

Everyone also gets two extra background skill points per level, but the skills they can be put in are limited -Animal Handling, Apraise, Linguistics, Profession, Craft, Perform, Sleight of Hand, Knowledges: History, Geography, and Nobility

Kenes, spied you haven't put in the base for your saves, those can be found on the summoner table.

Will start working on the opening, but people still have a little bit of time to finish up.
Jul 18, 2020 10:39 pm
I put my background skills into artistry and lore. That is okay?
Jul 19, 2020 12:00 am
I updated my skills to 4+Int and I put both background skill points into Nobility.
