The worse thing about getting sacked from work was the morning after when you have to collect the stuff you left from your office. What's worse than a bad morning and a hangover from a night of drinking? It's that light that temporarily blinded Nel when the elevator door opened.

What was wrong with the 7th floor of this building? You might ask. Well, you ought to report that to HR or whoever it was you're supposed to report about faulty lighting.

The light slowly faded, when Nel opened his eyes he found himself in a forest. It was strange. Almost dream like, but Nel could easily confirm that this was no dream. He can feel the breeze, and smell the petrichor and trees. The ground was wet, Nel knew it had just rained a while ago here.

The strangest part was the blue hologram like screen in front of him.
Quote:
Abilities:
STR 0 AGI 0 FGT 0 AWA 0
STA 0 DEX 0 INT 0 PRE 0
Allocate 2 points.
For some reason, you know what the letters mean.
OOC:
Distribute the 2 points. You may refer to page 55 of the Hero's Handbook, then roll 4d20.

"Ugh." Nel grunted. It was an unusual hangover indeed to see a forest when you just got out of the elevator from the 7th floor. He looked around the place and was easily convinced.. "Holy shit!" This was all real.

Where am I? How did I get here! WTF! I... I was at the building... and then.

Try as he might, he couldn't comprehend what the ef just happened. Maybe he was dreaming, he slapped himself to wake him up but but he just hurt himself in the process.

Calm down Nel, don't panic. You just got fired, no one would try to abduct you. You're broke. This must be just one... very vivid dream. I heard lucid dreams are like this. Breathe.

The screen then came into his attention.

"What's this? Attributes eh?" He looked at the strange screen for a long time before deciding.

"A game eh? What's a game screen doing in my dream, I gave up gaming a long time ago." He said to himself as he ponder if he should do as the screen told him. Allocate 2 points.

"Hmmm..." Nel used his index finger to press STR once and AGI once.

After pressing the hologram screen, the numbers beside STR and AGI changed to 1. Nel felt something, like he somehow felt more powerful and light. After a few seconds the numbers and letters on the screen and then new words popped out...
Quote:
(Allocate 8 Skill points)
[ ] Deception
[ ] Treatment
[ ] Expertise: Survival
[ ] Expertise: Magic
[ ] Expertise: (Free)
Strange were the words 'free' that when you stare at it you feel like you can change it into something that you know or you love.
OOC:
Allocate the 8 points in any way you want. Skills with no points will disappear. You can place any expertise related to your background on the (free) slot. It may also be a combat skill or a ranged weapon skill, as long as it is connected to your background.

"Definitely a weird dream." Nel tried to ignore his hangover as he proceed with skill point allocation.

He stared at the word 'free' and thought of something he love. Art, he always loved that subject. Admittedly he was not as good as his peers and many times he'd be too insecure about it but the passion to draw remained.

"Art it is." Nel decided. Now he just had to 'allocate' those points.

Deception? Sure he had to lie a couple of times to finish a job. Nel felt rather good about it.
Treatment? That's handy but he felt like it wasn't for him.
Survival? Well if the setting of this dream is a forest, it is always good to take that ability.
Magic? Sure this is a dream where magic should be a reality or maybe it's just parlor tricks kind of magic.

Nel decided on what skills he should 'take'.

Two points on deception, two points on Survival, and finally four points on Art. That's a total of eight points. He waited for the screen to change again. He won't admit it but he was excited. What could be on the next screen?

After Nel finished allocating skill points. The text vanished and then twoboxes appeared, a grey one and a blue one. In the blue box was an icon of a man lying down on the ground and pointing what seem to be a sword upward. Written beside it was the text: Prone Fighting.

On the grey box, the text "[ BLANK ]" was written. At first you were not sure what it meant but when you looked at it you felt strange and as you stare at it the word began to glow. Nel began to see an image of what he want to become in his head. The "[ BLANK ]" slowly faded and the box's color turned blue. An icon was revealed and letters began to form.

What did Nel get?
OOC:
Choose an advantage from the hero's handbook related to what Nel wanted to be. Then draw three cards

Brave was what he saw in his head. A Nel who would rush into the flames to save his grand father. That was one regret he had in life that he desperately wanted to change. A Nel who wouldn't get intimidated by his superiors and peers anymore, brave is what Nel wanted to become and so the icon was a man with a burning a heart and the letters formed the word Fearless.

Nel felt the change in him. Bravery felt like the icon he summoned, it was warm. The screen then started to change, the boxes disappeared, replacing it was three boxes with picture and text on them. The words 'Allocate 5 Power Points' was written on the top part of the screen.

DRAGON ARMOR, Rank 0 (1 point per rank)
Protects its wearer and at the same time makes them resistant to heat. (Toughness+4/Rank)

DRAGON'S BREATH, Rank 0 (1 point per rank)
A breath attack that affects a 60ft cone area. The breath's element can be fire, ice, or acid.
While its effects can be devastating, its power fades everytime it is used. You only need rest to recharge it. (Damage increases per rank)

DRAGON FLIGHT, Rank 0 (1 point per rank)
Dragon wings sprout from your back allowing you to take flight. The wings disappear when you don't need them or when you are incapacitated. (Flight speed increases per rank)
OOC:
You can spend your points to raise ranks. Powers at Rank 0 can not be used. You can still raise their points later.

OOC:
Nice powers. I liek it.
"Dragons? Those fire breathing lizards?" Nel laughs, still convinced that this was just a case of really bad hangover. Is there such thing as dreaming a very vivid dream when your system's full of alcohol?

"I'd just put 3 points on this cool armor, then one point each for these silly dragon powers." Nel smirked as he tapped on the hologram screen.
Jul 5, 2020 2:26 pm
After Nel finished tapping on the three powers the boxes and text on the screen disappeared and he felt them enter his head. He learned how to use them. Nel learned to manifest the dragon armor, how to breathe fire and how to grow his dragon wings. It was a lot of information that it caused his head to ache badly amplifying his hangover headache by about 10x.

He didn't faint. Fortunately. When he looked back at the screen, he saw the words "Congratulations!" on it. Congratulations for what he may ask. One thing he also learned was how to summon the Menu and how to close it. He only need to tap his chest twice to open or close it. There was a limitation though. He can only check it once a day.

The hologram screen disappeared.

Nel didn't 'wake up'. He was still in this lush forest.
Jul 6, 2020 12:33 am
"Ugh! Goddamnit!" Information overload hurts. The pain was too real in this dream world. Is this really how lucid dreaming goes. Usually when we dream about getting hurt, we wake up at that point where it should hurt most, but.

With two taps on his chest, Nel closed the menu and realized...

"The Fuck! This isn't a dream! Where am I!?" Everything was just too real except for the character menu. Nel threw up but quickly he regained composure. Fearlessness, kicked in.

He wiped his mouth with the clothes he was wearing. Going back to what just happened, he was just about to go out of the elevator when he was devoured by the white light then when he opened his eyes he was in this forest.

"Shit, the scene sounded familiar." Nel was never a fan of this genre, well not in public.

"Isekai?"...
Jul 6, 2020 5:13 am
Reality is a bitch and Nel just got bitch slapped hard.

What's gonna happen to Nel now? Around him was just trees and bushes and strange butterflies with three pairs of wings. Forest sounds fill the air but they were mostly the loud singing of crickets. Everything is peaceful.

Please update your Character Sheet :)
