So I just received my copy of Monte Cooke's Cypher System and I'm really excited to start running a campaign (what we call in my little corner of the gaming world a "run") in a modern Espionage/Occult Thriller type setting. I'd like to run a game for 3 to 6 players, posting about 3 to 4 times a week. The players would have to work together to figure out why their characters have come together. Whether they work as a private investigation firm, the only cops in a small weird town, all attend or work at the same school, just something that would give them a reason to know and bump into each other.
A general theme of this setting will be "Shining a light in the dark places", and my hope is have the stories really focus on the characters rather than running the characters through an adventure.
While the game won't be specifically set in any of these worlds, it will draw on the following media for inspiration:
Espionage:
Nikita, Alias, The Blacklist, Limitless, Burn Notice, The Americans, Scandal
Occult:
Supernatural, Teen Wolf (modern), Charmed, Ash vs Evil Dead, Sleepy Hollow
Any takers?
