Bob looks a little confused, but he slowly takes his left hand off his gun as he reaches out with his right to shake the stranger's hand.
"Guess I could use a stake, but how do I know you ain't this critter? Some purty strange happenins 'round these parts lately. Nuthin' would surprise me anymore."

OOC:
Ganesh -- did you miss the -- I need your post in response to the in-game post - posted here as well?
The man looks at the proffered hand, "Seriously, is that supposed to be a joke Bob?" he says as he gestures towards the hand that he makes no move to take. "Look let's actually get serious, I do not like this any more than you do I am sure but it is what it is and we need to make the best of it. Can we do that?"

Bob looks at his own hand and then retracts it.
"Yah. All this is gunna take some gettin' used ta'. Like ya said, I guess we oughta make the best of it. If you got some idea where dis critter got off to why don'tcha spit it out."

"Well catchin' dat critter bafore you gots watts you needs ta deal witt it is like walkn inta a gun fight witt a knife. Just aint a good idea iffin ya dont wants to not end up like me. Still iffin ya wants ta be a Ranger dare some tings ya need ta know. Like nevva wear ya badge in da open. Most of us just pin it to the inside of a dusta as it keeps it hidden but easily displayed when needed. As fer ya... well not actually a Ranger, well we will work on dat, who knows maybe ya will be one day. Fer now your a specially deputized unofficial agent of a sorts due to the nature of our current sitchiation. So tell me a bit about yerself, I kind of like to know whose I'm hauntin' "

"Normally I'd tell ya ta mind yer own bidniss, but seein' how you ain't likely to be tellin' no one and you already know I ain't Love, not no reason not to. it. It's a long story, but I reckon we got the time. I guess I'm like the guy that heads to the hardware store to pick up some nails an' ends up at the saloon. I never thought I'd be here, that's a sure thing." Bob stares at the fire, deciding where to start his tale, and figures the beginning is the best place.
"Well.. you know.. I started in Chicago, but like a lotta young fellas I got bit by the frontier bug.." Bob goes on to tell the Ranger how he got mixed up with some bad characters and became an outlaw. Of course in Bob's version, none of it was his fault, he was always a victim of circumstance, just doing what he had to do to survive, but if he really looked at his own life, he would have seen that plenty of the things he had done, he had done for greed, or anger, or ego, or any of a dozen other motives, and that he wasn't a victim of anything or anyone except his own self.
When he is done.. Bob looks up at the Ranger.
"Well, that's ma story. How 'bout you? Might as well know who I'm talkin' to."
