The minmaxer in me says Rod of the Pact Keeper, but sneaky sneaky me says Ring of Mind shielding.

But my common item is definitely going to be glamerweave. No changeling can do without.

I've been working on my character, but getting a bit hung up on the details :)

Human Paladin 2 / War Wizard 5. Was a squad mage in the last war and got tired of the "geek the mage" tactic that had been universally adopted across Khorvaire. Naturally very strong, he started donning heavy armor (as well as a host of lucky charms and trinkets) and found it effective. Paranoid and superstitiuos, always has backup plans and something up his sleeve. Strongly devoted to the Sovereign Host, both spiritually and as a practical matter for the protection from evil that comes from this religion. When the war ended he struggled to adjust to peace time - in the absence of things actually trying to kill him, his mind sees danger in everything and can never rest. The front line is the only place where his shot nerves feel normal, so he returned to active duty as an adventurer.

Common item: Cast-off Armor
Uncommon Item: Cloak of Protection

Feats: War Caster, Resilient (Con)

Spells: Learned to heal to avoid dying from mortal wounds, but is willing to heal others (10 lay on hands pool + cure wounds). Other spells are designed to protect or buff himself and allies (bless, shield, counterspell, dispel magic, haste). Can dish out damage too (fireball, magic missile, smite). Also has an owl familiar.

LightOfMidnight says:
I'd forgotten Ruby of the War Mage. I'd likely be grabbing it myself. And funnily enough looking at going mage armour instead of the mithral plate. So we have a wizard in Full Plate and Fighter in Mage Armor.
Love it! If you feel comfortable with it, we could have a rivalry. We might criticize each others' strategies, or have a contest of counting slain foes like Gimli and Legolas :D But of course, we'd be there for each other in times of need.

22 AC?! Haha. I love it. Also, just keep in mind that you'll have to use your CHA for Paladin spells, and INT for Wizard spells.

22 AC? Sounds like a smart enemy will ignore mister walking armor and go for the squishies instead!

....which would be me, being the one who doesn't wear armor for aesthetic reasons. :o

Yeah, I try to adhere to RAW in character creation, hence why my Paladin Spells are bless and cure wounds.

Just to be open about it, my character can cast Shield and Shield of Faith to get to 29 AC. Please let me know if this feels too power gamey. From what I know of you as a DM, I suspect you probably aren't overly concerned since there are many ways to challenge a character besides going through AC and I've had to nerfed myself in other ways to get here. I do plan to fully support these mechanics with a personality to match, and I hope it is delightful for everyone and not frustrating. But, let me know how it is going.

How’s your Dex save? 😏 I’m okay as long as it’s followed up with good reasoning in character.

He had a booboo in the Last War. Never again.

....Now that I'm looking at it, not many penalties in 5E for heavy armor, are there? Just stealth. But you can still jog, climb and swim in it?

Nope. It’s pretty lenient.

Sounds good. She's definitely of the type to make bets, and take challenges.

Don't make me waste a precious spell slot on you :P. Not that I care, just it would be kind of awkward explaining to the boss why you are dead.

I have submitted Britt d'Orien and made her visible

oh, and she is proficient in Vehicles (land)

If I were to take ritual caster, could I spend my starting gold in writing spells in + scroll cost?

Not sure if I am yet, just considering.

It's not about being the best fighter. It's about looking gooooood. Besides, I'll avoid fighting, thankyouverymuch.

PS. I got rituals too. Moar spells that don't use my precious slots? Yes please.

Hey I also look good. My mage armour is very cool thank you.

Wait warlocks have spell slots? :P

Not having to use a slot on mage armour is nice...and not having to spend my one non-evo or abj. spell on a pet bird is probably a good idea.

Though it still means I'm spending a feat on a pet bird....
