You have a week to prepare, so if you want to prep in any other way, mows the time. If not, we’ll fast forward to the rail station one week later. Sharn is likely the last place you’ll be able to buy things like potions or magic items for a while though.

You may also request or research anything you may want to know. Not hunting necessarily, just letting you know your options.

How do you want to handle the shopping, can we pick up an additional magic item, whats the cost? I also want to upgrade my armor

OOC:
That's a good point, some healing potions won't hurt.

Mithril Half Plate would be sweet, but I don't think that I have enough gold for that. A pouch of everlasting rations would be useful.

Gideon would do whatever research he could about the state of the Mournland, drawing upon Brelish military contacts from his background and any academic connections he has at Morgrave. He will also pick up a few items, but I'll wait for the results of his research to come to fruition to post the finalized list. He will insist on sharing this information with his fellow S&S members - don't want them to be unprepared either. I've included a naked d20 roll with no modifiers for you to use if you wish (no obligation of course)

Rolls

Research - (1d20)

(15) = 15

The Eberron book states the following:

"The DM sets the price of a common magic item or determines it randomly: 2d4 × 10 gp, or half as much (1d4 x 10gp) for a consumable item such as a potion or scroll."

We'll assume you're able to find any common item you want. When you post you're buying it, roll for the cost at that time. Other items you want to look for, make a request and I'll roll to see if you can find it, and how much it is.

Red Moon is not too good for research. Most say he is short a few bots and not the smartest person around. Other say he is short a few sandwiches of a full picnick basket. Either way he isn't one you find researching anything. He tends to take whatever is front of him face up. Deep strategy is not for him. He is lucky to keep even light strategy. He like anyone has heard the horror stories of moorlands, but he doesn't really believe it. Not till it is in his face. He is more to lush forest of Eldeen Reaches.

Those that been around him know he is rather simple minded. He is the one to step in front of the balista and wonder why everyone else backed away. Combat wise he is a fighter that just will not back down. Most know he feels that he is destined to survive.

Are there any particular questions that will guide your research?

Everlasting rations is not a standard 5e item. So I'm unsure how much it would cost. Red Moon has a pouch filled with 600gp to give for such an item. It might cost less.

Everlasting Rations: Magic Item (Magic Item Compendium, p. 160)

Price: 350 gp
Item Level: 2nd
Body Slot: held
Caster Level: 5th
Aura: Faint; (DC 17) Conjuration
Activation: —
Weight: 2.0 lb.

This nondescript small leather pouch has a light blue silk drawstring. This pouch contains enough trail rations to feed a Medium creature for one day. Every morning at sunrise, the pouch magically creates another day's worth of rations.

What do you think? Can he appropriate this item and how much gold would it cost him. Red Moons is rather good at haggling despite his lesser mind in many ways.

Gideon is specifically interested in finding out what dangers exist in the Mournland and how to prepare for them.

MrA, if we want to buy multiple healing potions should we roll for each or just once?
Jul 24, 2020 7:04 am
Reminder: Your cut of the gold from Baron before leaving is an additional 625 gold. If you haven’t added it to you inventory, do so. :)
Jul 24, 2020 7:05 am
Once is fine :)
Jul 24, 2020 7:06 am
Let’s say 250gp Red Moon

I guess I might as well try to obtain a Luck Stone as well!

Misha will want to discuss what she needs with the others as she knows nothing about going on an expedition. Can we RP that out after the baron left?
