Trees felled; fires are lit. The ground of the forest in one area has been replaced by smooth stones, like a river, moving towards our left. There are trenches, half-a person-height deep. River of stone continues East.
On the top of the river are workers and wheeled carts. There are cauldrons. 40 people working. Two-score people talking, hanging out - 5-10 guard-types. Roughly 100 people total. Two dogs.
Further up, there's an encampment with tents. Water is being brought down from there.
