A name as unimaginative as the menu. For drinking there's beer and booze and for eating there are freshly fried chips made from protein powder and flour.
The walls are plastered in posters from various bands who apparently at one point held a concert at the Spacefarer's Bar. Where you can see the walls between the posters they look like they haven't been cared for since West V was built, which was forty years ago. While the tables and the floor are clean per sé the whole bar looks aged and grimy.
Nevertheless this rather small bar is always full with people because the prices are cheap and with the load music blasting from the speakers, or occasionally the small stage, it's hard to be overheard by others.
Today is no exception. The tables are all full with people vividly talking to each other while the patrons at the bar are mostly minding their own business.
There are some terminals aligned along the wall at one side that allow betting on sports and racing results.
Ey... leave the terminal alone! The barkeeper, a stout guy named Jerry yells at a patron who just slammed his fist into one of the terminals. Even though the music is very loud Jerry's yell can be heard across the bar and the man stops, looking sheepishly.
Jerry nods in a satisfied way and continues to fill up glasses at the beer tap.
But before he can fill up another glass three men enter the bar. All of them are completely bald and extremely muscular. One of them has a tattoo depicting a dragon on his bald head, while another one wears a plaid skirt for some reason.
The look like Geneheads: Men who genetically modify their bodies in order to gain more muscles. Of course this procedure is forbidden and it has side effects, the most harmless of which is complete hair loss.
The look on their face is a pure expression of malice. They make their way to the bar where the one with the tattoo leans forwards and says: Three beer for us! And this time the good stuff
You know that I only have Westdraft. If you want anything else you have to go to one of the other bars. Jerry replies calmly while continueing to fill glasses with beer
Pah! We know that you're hiding the good stuff under there! He tries to reach over and under the counter.
No reaching over the counter! Are we in the clear here? Jerry yells and slaps the hand away.
You really just hit my hand! Didn't ya? No one does that! The thug is screaming hysterically and grabs Jerry at his shirt.
Jerry produces a stun baton from below the bar and wants to shock his assailant but the one with the skirt grabs Jerry's hand and twists it until he lets loose.
Three patron stand up from one of the tables and want to come to help but are quickly knocked out by two of the thugs while the tattooed one knocks Jerry unconscious.
The whole bar is in turmoil with some people trying to help the barkeep while most just run out of the bar. The geneheads knock all attackers unconscious.
Soon only five people and a robot are left to fight the thugs...
Describe your position in the bar, why you were there and what you were doing when the thugs attacked. Then roll your perception die. If your total is higher than the roll of the thugs you can act first (in any order). If it's lower you have to wait until the thug's turn.
Each square is 1m wide = 1 movement point.
If you want to use your weapons you can assume that you've already drawn them and therefore don't need an action to ready them.
Be careful to mind the wild die rule.
I'll add your character's token after you declare your position. I've numbered the thugs for easier referencing
There is no wild die feature on Gamersplane and so we'll always take the first die of your roll as the wild die.
The wild die does the following:
If it rolls a 1 this skill check counts as a failure and you subtract the wild die and your highest roll from your total. (I will do this automatically)
If it rolls a 6 this skill check counts as a critical success and the die 'explodes' which means that you can roll the wild die again! If it shows a 6 again you can continue rolling. It only stops when you roll anything different than 6. If you roll a 1 with an 'exploded' die the rolling just stops but it has no negative effects.
Per default you have one action in combat. Examples of actions are:
Punching an opponent
Readying a weapon
Pick up something (item or weapon)
Dodge enemy attacks
Shoot a weapon
Grapple an opponent
Moving more than 50% of your movement
There are also some free action that you can take without spending your action:
Speaking a few words ("Dani duck!")
A quick glance around the room
Moving up to 50% of your Movement
Taking multiple actions
Your character can also hurry up and do multiple action in a round (e.g.: dodge and attack)
But this comes at a price. For each action beyond your first you subtract 1D from all your attribute and skill rolls that round.
You have to have at least 1D in each roll you try
Fists: melee combat/brawling
Melee weapons: melee combat
Guns of any kind: firearms
Throwing stuff (like glasses, chairs): Missile weapons
Include a damage roll with your attack roll in case your attack hits. Your damage roll is:
Fists: Strength damage
Melee weapons: Strength Damage + Weapon Damage roll
Ranged weapons: Weapons damage roll
Improvised thrown weapons (glasses, chairs,...): Strength damage +1
If you want to defend beyond your basic defense you have basically three options:
No active defense: You do nothing to avoid getting hit. Your basic difficulty to be hit is 10.
Full defense: You only take the dodge action this turn. You roll your dodge skill and add 10 to it
Partial defense: You take your dodge action and any number of other action this turn. You roll your dodge skill. If it turns out to be lower than your basic defense difficulty you are actually easier to hit!
After you are hit by an attack you roll your damage resistance which is substracted from the incoming damage. Usually your damage resistance is your armor's armor value. If you have any special abilities (like optimussquare's robot) include those into your damage resistance.
