Star Power

So I've had an idea for a Mutants and Masterminds game for a while now, it is a bit different from the campaigns I've run in the past. Essentially the world's greatest heroes are a bunch of pretenders who were given their powers by the government, in truth their little more than celebrities with superhuman abilities. However when a new threat emerges their safety net is ripped out from beneath them, and they have to make a choice. Either they become the heroes they've always pretended to be, or be exposed as frauds.

It is one of those ideas I got, really liked, plotted out, and then filed away. If there is an interest I thought it might be fun to run as a one-shot sort of game. I'd be using Mutants and Masterminds 3rd edition, and players at all level of experience would be welcome. If there is any interest I'll put together a game for it.

I would love to play, but I must confess that I have only had a quick glance at the quickstart guide. I know you said 'players of all levels of experience' but I kind of feel like I would be taking advantage!

That is what quick start guides are for, and heck that is what pbp is for. It gives you time to look over the rules between posts.

It seems like there's at least some interest in this so I'll start getting stuff together for a proper game. If anyone else is interested please let me know. I'd love to have a full list of everyone who'd like to give it a try.

I'll leave that decision up to you. Genetic tampering allows heroes to be given all manner of impressive powers and abilities, and technology has advanced to the point that armored suits (Iron Man, War Machine, Rocketeer, Rocket Red, Guardian) are practical.

If you're still taking players, I will gladly join this, it's been too long since I've played a supers game.

I am getting all of my notes and such together, I'd like to have about 5 players, that usually works well for superheroes games.

Not yet, I am planning to do so tonight after work.

Alright, the game is made, and invites have been sent to all of those who expressed an interest. If you need help creating characters or have any questions just let me know. I figure it'll take a few days for everyone to finish making their characters.

Hey Sakutian I really appreciate the invitation but I've just got too much going on right now and so will have to take a rain check. I really am interested both in the game system (which I've never tried before) and your story idea! I will be reading along when I have spare time.
