Prologue 1.1: Be vewy, vewy quiet...

While Garn is keeping the kobolds busy, I attempt to keep his bulk between me and the kobolds and slip in to the temple door. If the kobolds come after me, I will continue to run in.

Between Dahlia's mounted charge and Garn's foot charge, the two kobolds at the door have no time to pay attention to you. You manage to slip into the broken door, and see 4 Blue kobolds desecrating every shrine to the good and neutral gods in this temple, while another Blue, another White, and a Green surround a mask wearing priest in black and silver robes. 2 red kobolds lie twitching in death, and everyone in this room at the moment is speaking in a gravelly language that you do not understand. Nobody has given any indication that you've been spotted.

I stay hidden and move around the edges of the temple, keeping an eye on the robed figure as I attempt to find either Father Weiryn or the artifact.

As you make your way around the temple, you see several more kobolds in the shadows, lurking about and looking as though they are trying to get a shot at the robed figure. You can feel power moving in here, and it's as though the kobolds want nothing more than to attack the robed figure, but they just can't bring themselves to raise a hand against him.

Finally, the Blue kobold who has been staring down the priest in black robes speaks in the Common tongue, with a very rough voice.

"It's very simple, priest. We know you have the Orb. Give it to us, and we'll leave you to your fallen. Continue to vex us, and I'll lay this little town to waste and your fallen will join our army."
Apr 6, 2016 5:15 pm
I continue towards the closest kobold, drawing my two short swords. If I'm not seen, I get in close behind it and attempt to wrap my arms from behind it to slit its throat and stab it in the gut as quietly as possible.

I stalk my prey quickly and quietly. Once one kobold is down, I will continue to the next until either they're all neutralized or I am detected.

Round 5

The kobold never even knew you were coming, with the way you snuck up on him and neatly sliced his throat...he didn't even have time to cry out before his spirit left this mortal coil. The other Blues that are working on the temple shrines continue their work, completely oblivious to the fact that they are being hunted.

The priest answers the Blue kobold in a melodious voice reminiscent of your elven parent.

"This is a holy place. You and yours have no place here. Leave now, and you may go in..."

The talkative kobold whips his head around as you move from the fallen corpse of your earlier target, looking dead at you. He screams something in that gravelly language you heard earlier, and everyone starts looking around the room until they focus on you. Then he turns back to the priest with a sneer and says, "We'll see how cooperative you are when I have someone to torture..."

The element of surprise is no longer on your side. 3 Blue, 1 White, and 1 Green kobold have you in their sights, but can't act this turn. What do you do?
OOC:
Damn...that Perception roll...

I look for a more defensible location and run towards it.

You see a somewhat defensible spot not far from where the robed priest is standing, and make a break for it. The closest kobold attempts to place his hand on you, a odd and dangerous glow about it, but misses. The green raises a crossbow and fires at you, but actually hits the kobold that just tried to grab you. The white starts to move to intercept, but his armor is bulky and he's moving slow. One blue spends this round summoning...well, you aren't sure what it is. It's a shapeless mass of quivering flesh with claws and red eyes, and the smell of sulphur radiates from it. Finally, the last Blue that has turned his attention to you finishes chanting, and you feel some kind of energy wrap around you.

Meanwhile, the priest reaches out a hand toward you, and you feel as though you've been sitting in the warm summer sun all day, enjoying the weather. You heal for 14 HP.
OOC:
Roll Will, to see if you resist the kobold's spell. DC 15...

Also...what the heck, dice? A 1? Seriously? YARGH!!!!

I feel something take hold in my mind. I'm not sure what, but I attempt to mentally shake it off.

Start your next round whenever you are ready.

I get into position and call over to Father Weiryn in Elvish. "Thanks for that. I feel good as new. Anyway, Perrin sent me. Should we get out of here? My allies are on their way."

I keep an eye on the kobolds. If they make a move against me, I'll have to get creative.
OOC:
Holding action until something (especially the blue kobolds) make a move.

"I do what I can, child...but I'm afraid that right now, leaving isn't an option. Our 'friends' here have us thoroughly surrounded, and I'll not give them what they desire. Their dark goddess wouldn't allow them to spare us, anyway."

The priest is a bit flippant and confident as he stares down the blue kobold in front of him. Another armored white stands between you and the exit. You can see now, from your more defensible location at the shrine of Pharasma, that there are about 6 green kobolds in this temple with you, with crossbows aimed at you and the priest. 4 Black kobolds keep to the shadows, attempting to get into a position to bring the priest down...but what really catches your attention is the hidden switch on the side of the altar.

"You are quite correct, priest." the Blue Kobold states in clear Elven. My master and his dark mistress would not be pleased that I allowed you to live. However, I can grant you a clean death, and promise not to animate your bodies to serve our great army. Now, give me the orb. I know it's in this building, and I am beginning to lose patience. You have until the count of three before I tell my soldiers to open fire and kill the girl. And I promise you, it won't be a quick death."

Ah, the blue one leads them then. That's my target. I charge directly towards him.
Apr 11, 2016 2:03 pm
You run past the white kobold, who is taken completely by surprise at your charge...he swipes at you with his sword, but you are already running past him. The blacks move in to swarm the priest, daggers flashing in the dim light...at one point, you actually see his mask go flying through the air. as they pile on top of him. The greens direct their attention at you and open fire, 4 of the 6 bolts hitting their target. Finally, the Blue one snarls in frustration, as he whips out a strange looking symbol and begins chanting.

Father Weiryn, now swarmed with black kobolds, cries out in agony as he brandishes his holy symbol, and a fell light washes over every kobold in the room. The black kobolds that have him swarmed shriek in agony and fall to the ground, while the blue ones who were desecrating the altars just collapse. There are 6 Green Kobolds, one white, and the Boss Blue still standing as you complete your charge.
OOC:
You take 14 damage as 4 crossbow bolts pierce your armor.

State your next round's action. I will then wait for everyone outside the temple to state whether or not they're coming in, and they'll get to join the fun.

I realize a little too late this this was a terrible idea. At least I'm keeping blue from hitting Father Weiryn- he just needs to stay alive a little longer. I take two swipes towards the kobold while yelling "Father, you alright?"
