Hm... seems like you're using IE. Can I suggest a better browser, such as Firefox, Chrome or Opera? There are other choices too.

If you wanna stick with IE, or can't switch, I'll warn you right now, while most of this site should work with IE, stuff might come up buggy, so you might not enjoy it as much...

Amber with Dice Interest Check

Nov 19, 2020 9:55 am
So I am just curious how many have heard of Amber by Erick Wujcik and would be interested in playing it? Its a great game, but lacks dice, so I have created my own simple resolution system using only D8's. It would be an experimental game, but would still have all features of Amber including Attribute Auction, Logrus, Pattern, Sorcery, Items and Allies. I love Amber and have been on and off playing it since 1994. I'd love to see if any are interested thanks.

I've heard of Amber but never actually tried it myself. One of my friends recommended it, and I'd be interested in giving it a try. My old in-person gaming group has had a lot of fun with homebrew rules and game systems over the years, so I'm always up for a little experimenting.

Did not read the book, but did looked up the rules awhile back . You could count me as interested. BTW, how would you implement the 1d8? Would it be like each result is a 5/10 point difference in stats? Or maybe like each d8 is added for advantages/disadvantages.

I have a physical copy of the Amber system but I've never managed to get a game going. I'm certainly interested.

I've both played diceless (run by some GMs much more talented than myself) and read the novels. I'd definitely be game.
