OOC:
Gee, I'm glad I dropped one of the other games I was playing. Anyone ever heard of Call of War?
Angel grabs another mundane arrow and fires again.
OOC:
I've been making great rolls in all my games the last few days, now the opposite is at work.

TPK by a solitary lizard?

OOC:
Hey hey, he's done 1 damage to us... Still a ways off from TPK ;)

I, for one, welcome our new lizard overlord!

Bwahahaha!! Go go Godzilla!

The giant lizard wheels around. At first it considers Elmo, but then snaps at Alice instead, catching her off guard as its powerful mandibles crush down on the cleric's skull.
OOC:
Oh man... With a THAC0 of 16, the lizard does 8HP damage to Alice, who was previously at 7... She's going to have to make a Death Save on her next turn.
Meanwhile, as KCC69 pointed out, Elmo's previous attack should not have happened until now because he has a 2-handed property on his weapon, but I'll keep the die rolls, which means now Elmo swings and misses and round 3 comes to an end.

Round 4 begins! Turn order is as follows:
-->1. Angel, Alice, Eltrezar (5)
2. Gilly (3)
Giant Lizard (1)
4. Elmo (7, 2-handed)

(4) + 1 = 5

Gilly Initiative roll - (1d6+2)

OOC:
Cripes, of COURSE the LIZARD is rolling well. I guess I asked for it...

Rolls

Death save (11) - (1d20)

(7) = 7

OOC:
Oh for the love of Cuthbert...
Jan 14, 2021 7:00 pm
OOC:
Oh no!
Alice, caught by surprise by the lizard's attack barely has time to feel any pain as her skull is crushed almost instantly and he body goes limp, dangling still from the reptile's strong jaws. Around her head it gives a hiss of satisfaction.
OOC:
That sucks... Round 4 continues; Turn order is as follows:
-->1. Angel, Alice, Eltrezar (5)
2. Gilly (3)
3. Giant Lizard (1)
4. Elmo (7, 2-handed)
Jan 14, 2021 8:28 pm
Seeing the beast kill and partially devour his companion, the wizard redoubles his assault! He draws yet another dagger and hurls it at the creature, an enraged yell coming from his lips! After throwing the knife, however, he realizes that he may have drawn unwanted attention and backs away further, hoping that the parties drunk might keep its focus.
OOC:
Eltrezar throws a dagger and then backs away 5'.

Rolls

Attack - (1d20)

(8) = 8

Damage - (1d4)

(2) = 2

Jan 14, 2021 11:48 pm
Eltrezar throws a third dagger, which also bounces uselessly against the wall behind the beast.
OOC:
I'll move Eltrezar 1 space north. How many daggers does the wizard carry? 4 or 5, correct?

Round 4 continues; Turn order is as follows:
-->1. Angel, [d]Alice[/s], Eltrezar (5)
2. Gilly (3)
3. Giant Lizard (1)
4. Elmo (7, 2-handed)
Jan 14, 2021 11:57 pm
OOC:
I'm counting six daggers. Five from the blacksmith, one from character creation.

OOC:
Yeah, that's right. I could have just opened up my Sspreadsheet and looked. So Eltrezar still has three more daggers to bounce off the wall...

OOC:
It's 5pm right now. I'll give Angel a few more hours to post and then I'll NPC him this turn if we don't see anything by ~10pm-ish. That way Gilly can get a post in tonight as well.

OOC:
Hey, how many battle rounds per day do we have to face? This is starting to get a bit out of hand.
Angel grabs one of the new arrows and fires it at the Lizard. Rolls will be made without any bonuses that the arrow itself might have. Those can be added in secret if necessary.
OOC:
forgot to add the +2 to the attack. Is there a rule in this game for critical hits?

OOC:
That's actually a good point and now that your party numbers are dwindling rounds can go faster, but we don't go by rounds per day. That would be really unreasonable.

Basically, we decided that when in combat, it's just one post per day (so basically 24 hours), and then the DM will NPC your character for the round just to keep.thongs moving. I try and NPC your character consistent to how you RP them, and not put them in a position that will put them at risk layer.

Your last post was around 9pm or shortly after last night which is why I'd wait until at least 10, so you were good.

The only rule for nat-20s is that they always hit, no matter what the AC of the target is.

Angel put one of the new arrows in his bow and fires it at the lizard. It pierces the beast's skull and it drops Alice's body from its jaws as it gives another hiss of pain and collapses to the floor dead.

Gilly let’s out a primal shriek, and bounces onto the lizards back, short sword out. With all her might, tears welling from her eyes, she stabs down into the beast, again, and again, and again. Eventually she discards her short sword, and with her nostrils full and wet, eyes blurred with tears, she grips her hands onto the roof of the lizards mouth, and drags it away from Alice’s body!

Seeing the giant lizard slump to the ground, Eltrezar moves forward to collect his discarded daggers. When he gets close to the fallen Alice, he drops to his knees. "Two companions in one day... I believe we best return to the town while we still have the choice. I... did not wish for this to happen. Not to them... not to her. Gilly, search the room for any spoils. Angel and I will bring her body to the horses."

OOC:
Gilly feels a ghostly hand on her shoulder and a voice in her mind that says "Fear not little one, for I will always watch over you."
