Rules

Any house rules, variants, or formatting changes will go here. If you have any questions or think we should change anything, just let me know.

When posting in the game thread:

So it's easier for everyone to read, try to post in third-person past-tense in the game thread.

"Spoken dialogue in bold and with quotation marks."

In character thoughts in italics.
OOC:
Out of character questions and comments in the OOC format. Feel free to clarify any game mechanics here too, like if you want to clarify what action you're taking or what spell you're casting.
When posting in game, try not to describe any other character's actions. Also, try not to describe the results of your actions, since you never know if your roll failed or succeeded.

If you think a certain roll is appropriate (a skill check or attack roll, for example), feel free to go ahead and add it when you post. You don't have to wait until I ask you for a roll.

Absences:

Just give us a heads up (by posting here or in the gamersplane absences thread) if you're going to be away for a while.

Have fun!

If you're not having fun, just let me know, and I'll try to fix it. If you have any suggestions for other rules/formatting/posting conventions, feel free to bring it up! I'm a new DM and new to play-by-post, so I welcome any feedback.

I prefer talking in first person so most of my posts will start with bolded quatations. I feel like that gets me into roles the best and its most similar to tabletop. :) So far I like the tone, not too serious but not too silly. :) I'm a little rusty on system rules but I'm excited to play again.

I agree with mikelzap on the first person. Not too sure about using past tense either.

I do third person past tense because I think it's easier to follow when others are reading it, but if you prefer first person, by all means, feel free =D

I think I'd prefer present tense, but 1st/3rd doesn't really matter to me.
