I'm thinking something martial, since using spells in GP sheets is honestly kind of a pain :P

Right now I'm thinking Battle Master, but I could also see Eldritch Knight or Paladin. I'll try and make a sheet soon, once I've stopped being indecisive and have a tad more time

Roll the dice, if it lands on the one your "iffy" about then thats clearly not the one you want :D

Is there anything i can do to acquire a shortsword instead of the given [lightcrossbow (or) simple weapon]? I have starting cash to pay for it if thats a thing?

As far as weapons go, you’re free to switch the weapons choices that your given, as long as it’s one your proficient in.
And yes - all PHB, including spells.

Agreed. I’ve tried a different couple of things to help with that in some of my character sheets - some of them are workable, but none of them are easy to make use of.

Normally I'd go point-buy, but I think rolling stats will give me some inspiration and an idea of how MAD/SAD my character should be :)

Hrm. 2 decent ability scores. I'm thinking I'll go sword/shield battle master, so it makes sense to go for a primarily dex build; I think the 15's in dex and str and the 13 in str so I can wear chain mail could do nicely. Then again, if I go str I can put a lower score in dex and have a decent mental score... I'll sleep on it, and see what the party comp is.

How do you feel about variant human, GM?

I like rolling stats, so I'm going with that. Probably going to go with a rogue. Haven't done one of them before.

Edit: Huh. I kinda like having some weak stats for RP reasons, but maybe this is the universes way of making up for the lack of experience I have as a player, lol.
