@CaveJohnson - Looking over your character and noticed a couple of things:

1) Name could use some work. :-)
2) Your AC seems a bit high. What am I missing with that?

If that is the sorcerer I believe it is dragons ancestry. AC = 13 + DEX MOD. so if he has a high dex so is his ac. I totally wanted to be one when he mentioned it earlier, I was thinking barbarian/monk as well to do the same thing.

Physical Description: 34" tall, 40 lb or so, with a medium build (for a gnome). Short, lightly-ruffled hair the color of worn leather that if you look closely, you can tell is meticulously groomed to look unkempt. His hazel eyes twinkle when he's up to no good, and a twitching smirk occasionally will give away a bluff or a con at work.

Gerbo was raised in a loving family as an only child by two parents who tried to raise him right. This attempt was half-hearted, though and the crafty little guy quickly learned to push people's buttons. Honing this skill like a keen blade helped him wheedle what he wanted from his parents and part drunkards from their money. The more he grew up and the more he frequented seedy bars, the more he saw others take advantage of small folk. What he previously saw as fun, he saw others doing out of malice or greed. While he never really stopped swindling people, he focused his efforts on those that kicked people when they were down.

He quickly learned that some people (especially the big ones) did not like being conned, and would resort to violence. After waking up once or twice beaten and bloody in a gutter, he decided to learn to use a weapon, settling on a rapier. A gentleman's weapon, a rapier could pass as decorative at high-brow events, but was enough to send most thugs packing if he got caught in a tight spot.

I have no problem with Quantum’s character being in the Emerald Enclave, either! I hope you guys don’t mind me improvising missions that our characters were on to reminisce about :P

Kirin, to your other question, I found it by googling "forgotten realms factions" and that D&D Beyond page I linked came up. It seems to be more rigid in Adventurer’s League, with faction membership tying into their "renown" mechanic, but I thought it would work well for my character to be a member given their background, and the Emerald Enclave was the only faction that made sense for the character I had in mind.

In a separate matter, I’m going to sit down and do the backstory now, while I have time, so I’ll post that soon.

PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Standing at ~5' 10", Orel wears his armor and a slight smile on his face at nearly all times. His slightly-tanned skin, dark brown hair, and hazel eyes all give him a somewhat homogeneous look. His strong physique and impeccably shaved face make him look youthful, in stark contrast to his stark smile lines and bags under his eyes: all in all, you'd estimate he looks 35 or so.

BACKSTORY
I was actually born in Neverwinter, but my mother and father abandoned me when I was very young, leaving me on the doorstep of Hadriana & Avitus Dotsk in a small town several miles away. Growing up, my adoptive siblings (Nadine, who was older, and Aina & Meritamen, who were younger) were my only company, as the other children seemed to think I was "too serious."

I remember my first encounter with the Emerald Enclave: I was about fifteen or so when one day when the town was attacked by bandits, a woman seemed to appear from nowhere and drive them back with nothing but her bow. I didn't know what that dark green pin meant at the time, but now I do.

Once I was older, I moved out and went to a small war college nearby where I learned to fight. After that, I left for a stint in the woods and learned to survive. And after all of that, I joined the Emerald Enclave. And ever since, I've spent my life helping people, whether that's by a healer's kit or by a shield and sword.
OOC:
I suppose technically this is a violation of PHB-only, since I used this wonderful online version of the XGtE random backstory generator to inspire most of this :P. I removed all of the typical mechanical effects, though, so it doesn't really make a difference.

The PHB only rule was me trying to avoid having to deal with mechanical effects from several different books. Pulling lore and the like from other sources isn't a problem at all.

Thanks for this, ended up using this. I will post results later. I planned to use XGtE to generate my backstory. Glad it rolls it all for me.

I'm just finalising character sheet but backstory is done I think:

Within orc society, half-orcs were often looked down upon as weaker and inferior creatures. Kerisha suffered from such prejudice. Within The Broken Claw Horde, warriors were treated like royalty. Excelling in single combat, was everything to its members.

Kerisha was not the strongest of the tribe. Something she was constantly reminded of, and she will always have the scars to remind her in future. She understood that strength lay not in the individual, but within the group. The Broken Claw Horde didn’t agree. For her weakness, Kerisha was cast out.

Months spent out in the wilderness left Kerisha with plenty of time for contemplation and reflection. She had to toughen up in order to survive. As she would hunt in the streams and forest, Kerisha frequently came across a bear doing the same. Hunting. Surviving. Such a strong and powerful beast. She knew she could be that way. But she needed help.

As Kerisha moved around she became known to the Emerald Enclave. A group that helped her survive. The Emerald Enclave were initially cautious with Kerisha, being half-orc. But she quickly gained favour for her strength and bravery. She became friends with soldiers Grim and Orel. They would often patch her up when her orc rage got the better of her. One day she would return to her Horde. To show them how strong she was, and she would not be alone.

Alright did a bit of an update on the sheet for "Story whatevers" you wish to do with those.

Belanor Oloceran,
Established, Endorsed, and Purveyor of brewers, distillers, and vintners. Belanor has traveled over half of the Faerûn for business trips.
Belanor's sibling got him in touch with someone at the guild. Not wishing to stay in Arabel much longer he accepted the meeting. After a few interviews the guild accepted him. Not showing great finesse in creating the items needed they transferred Belanor into the sells division which took him out of Arabel.

Being an elf he has time to spare so long as he makes his quota to continue to pay his guild dues. Belanor was taught the ways of a few weapons at a young age from his parents and siblings. But he never truly understood his ability to produce magical effects. When asked his family would not divulge any detail. He found a small scrap of a page telling a story of his 4 times great grand parents making deals with dragon kin dealing in some exchange in magical abilities or something.

Over time Belnaor has come to grips with his pseudo-grafted magical abilities and has begin to practice with them unsure of how useful they can/will be.
Belanor finally saved up enough money to trade in his pathetic weapon the Guild gave him as protection for a real weapon, a sword. Now with sword on hip Belanor feels more confident during his travels for now he has his magic and his weapon to help keep bandits at bay.
