The piles are between 5-7 feet tall. Some you'll need to crouch to run behind. There's also a partially crumbled wall on the right side near the spider, you'd have to climb over. If you created the diversion on the right side, the bomb can be trundled to the left side where it's a bit clearer.

Riley indicates for Charles to help him with the bomb, pointing to the left hand side. Piles of ore should provide cover.
