Chapter 3: Red dwarf and purple planet

Dotty can make out two doors on the other side of the room. You can't reach them without crossing the barrier though.

The whispering of the alien and the scientist both seem to be completely silent.

ChiHiRu posture relaxes. As curious as this was, he did not see any immediate threat.

He turns toward the group and his tablet says :"Some pirates have been witnesses. Maybe they will open the buds of this mystery."

Dotty gently lobs the small rock just inside the light to see what happens.

As the rock crosses the barrier it suddenly slows down mid-air and gently floats toward the ground.

The mysterious alien being seems to have noticed the rock as it turns its head to you. It seems to say something but you can't understand what.
It lets the woman slide to the ground and begins to move toward you with large but slow steps. In a few seconds it will reach you. What do you want to do?

ChiHiRu stays out of reach of the purple barrier and observes the approaching aliens. He is trying to discern if its intentions are aggressive or if he seeks to communicate.

Dotty steps back from the barrier quickly but continues to watch the alien, does it appear aggressive or merely curious?

The alien stretches out its arm in ChiHiRu's direction and draws closer.

ChiHiRu's tentacles normally weaving tentacles freeze a moment, but a noticeable shiver runs through his body and they pick up their movement in a more energic manner.

He continues staring at the aliens. A barrage of strong scents fills the room and the tablet translates in the silence at a crazy fast pace: "From Verda. From the Root of Ru. From the expedition and the colonies.Where are you from? Investigating. Why are you here? Beginning of summer but Beginning of summer but, you could be a lost seed of fall? Searching for the lost humans. Why keeping the humans? No. Why seek to control ChiHiRu's wind? ChiHiRu strong. How do you stop them? What is your Seed and your Root?

ChiHiRu and the alien stand opposite of each other, the tentacles of the alien and the vines of ChiHiRu touching each other slightly.
They stare at each other for a minute and then both suddenly jolt back. The alien tumbles inside the barrier again, turns around and staggers toward the light inside the barrier as if it was drunk.
With one arm it lifts up the female it held up before and with the other it reaches toward the light.
The light's intensity increases, slightly at first but then more and more until the whole room is bathed in purple light.
You can feel the floor of the temple shudder, small pieces of debris fall from the ceiling and then the light disappears.

As your eyes adjust to the low light conditions you can see that the people across the room now all lie on the floor.
The alien and the woman are both gone however...

After the alien's disappearance, ChiHiRu quickly take as many notes and drawing in his tablet about the experience.

"As anybody heard of the Ru'Za'Kol?"

The who ZA what ?? Jefferson looks at ChiHiRu like he's ... Nevermind.

Surprised Scott search in his mind for that name

Dotty thinks walking over to the people left behind by the alien, she starts checking them out to make sure they're alright and disarming anyone who might have a weapon.

"Which one's are yours?" She asks the locals. "Also, is anyone else concerned that the alien took that one woman with her?"

Anu and Jerry stood around like frozen until Dotty's words put them out of their stupor.
Erm... Yes... Our guys you're right.. Jerry stammers and begins to collect the weapons of the pirates while Anu checks the bodies of the scientists for signs of life.

They are... they are breathing... but unconscious... Anu says.
Jerry meanwhile drops the weapons in a corner, removes the belts from the pirates' trousers and binds them with the collected belts.

When they are finished Anu rubs his head.
The alien... it took Martha with it. She was a language expert... often needed new cameras from me because she dropped them. Alas... How... how did it escape? Has anyone seen it running?

Better contact Dr. Salmberg about this... Jerry adds

Scott rubs his chin with the mechanical hand Doc. That thing was not from part of our known galaxy

Satisfied with his notes, ChiHiRu's full attention come back to the group.
"Its name is grammatically similar to the language of the Pok Dominion, it might seed from one of their planets."
"ChiHiRu saw them disappear after touching the light, no running."
"Ru'Za'Kol. Here is what ChiHiRu learned. The alien calls itself Pa'Ka and the race of aliens seem to call themself the Ru'Za'Kol. It hid here after a battle an undetermined amount of seasons ago. It never saw humans and was investigating them for information and possible threats.

It goes inside the mind of other for information and control. ChiHiRu resisted and visited his also. The humans did not and were stopped. Maybe ChiHiRu's mind is strong, maybe it is different but mostly the Pa'Ka was weakened and surprised.

This is what ChiHiRu knows. ChiHiRu guess it took the woman because it still require information."

"So ChiHiRu, if you are stronger than that being, can you catch it?" adds Scott to his alien companion notes

"It didn't run off, it just touched the light and was gone." Dotty says looking about in the near dark.

She takes her flashlight and takes a peak through the other exits to the room to see where they go while the others deal with the prisoners and injured.

"Possible. Risky but possible. We have to find him before he grows back though. Dangerous for everyone if we let him grow back."

Well, but I suggest before you chase this... thing we should take care of the others lying around here. I'll get back to the surface and contact Dr. Salmberg that we need a medical team here. I hope that they're gonna be alright again Jerry says with a look on his face that's both happy and concerned and walks towards the exit.
