Chapter 3: Red dwarf and purple planet

"That would be a pretty terrible idea doll face," Dotty replied with a smile, "you just gots to lemme put some gloves on first and then you'll be fine."

She shrugs making sure that neither paralyzed pirate has so much as a pocket knife on their possession. "It's great for chasing handsy folks away in my other occupation but it puts a serious crimp into my love life if you know what I mean." Dotty sighs and winks, "I ain't had a good make out session in a while."

"If I only was younger" laughs quietly Scott. He stops to adjust his hand mechanism "So what now?"

Distraction Group:
Soon after Dotty, Scott and Jerry put the bandits into the crate you can hear how the punch against the insides of the crate.
Ha! Have fun you rascals! I once was locked into one of these as a joke. No way you can open them from the inside Jerry says, clearly happy that the pirate threat is a least partially eliminated.

Assault Group:
The pirate swings his baton at ChiHiRu and makes a slight dent into the withering mass of plant-like material. But he doesn't have any time to make a second attack as he is quickly choked unconscious by ChiHiRu.
With the last pirate incapacitated the group is free to explore the camp and potentially call the distraction group in order to explore the camp and maybe the temple as a group

ChiHiRu disarms the pirate and carry him with two tentacle toward the front. He joins up with the distraction team to see if they need help.

Derek fall in with the group and sees where he can be helpful.

ChiHiRu notifies the distraction group of the successful neutralization of the pirates and you all come together at the middle of the camp.
Jerry and Anu are both beaming with joy.
Well... Looks like we are victorious. Let's have a look at the temple complex. I fear that the pirates caused some kind of explosion down there and got killed along with a few of our people. You know we sometimes used dynamite sticks to remove rocks... Anu says

"Did you manage to keep yours alive?" Dotty asks looking in the general direction of the crate on the truck.

"There’s a really nice cannon on their wreck as well as some scrap and equipment we might be able to use to repair our hull." Dotty says pulling back on her jacket and gloves.

She looks at Anu, "Isn’t dynamite kind of counter productive when dealing with priceless relics?"

ChiHiRu check for a pulse in the pirate he his dandling in mid-air to double check.

"They are alive. They are in the holding cell."

ChiHiRu will move his last victim in the cell with the other, confirm that they are disarmed and the place is secure.

Then he will join the others to explore the Temple complex.

Anu shrugs in response to Dotty's question. We just crack rocks enough so that we can break them into pieces. Shouldn't do any harm to the artifacts here and saves a lot of time

The crate that's placed ontop of the hatch is filled with a lot of iron part. Probably in order to make it more difficult to remove it, but with ChiHiRu's help a manage to pull it to the side.
You open the hatch. Below it is a long flight of stairs. Strange writings are carved into the walls accompanied by some pictures of humanoid figures with two tentacle-like arms and four eyes. Some of them seem to perform various rituals.
A faint purple light seems to emanate from a doorway at the bottom of the stairs. It is just bright enough that you can make out the stairs that lead down. The doorway is about 20m/60ft away from you

Well, that looks inviting. At least it doesn't look like we'll be too crowded down there.

Seeing better in the dark than his comrades, ChiHiRu will lead the way.

You all descend down the stairs.

The doorway leads into a large chamber with a high ceiling. There are a lot of niches in the wall which weem to have contained something but are now empty. The walls of the room are decorated with similiar writings to the ones you've seen before. A chandelier is dangling from the ceiling. It probably once was impressive but a few arms are broken off and it doesn't seem to be in a good overall condition. To the left is a collapsed doorway that seems to have been partially cleared and in front of you is another doorway that leads down a corridor into another room.

From your point of view you can see that the corridor leads into another room. On the other side of this room is another doorway from which a bright purple light is shining. You can't be sure but you think you can sometimes see a shadow in the light.

"Follow the purple light?"

"I don't know about where you're from," Dotty says looking at Chi, "but where I'm from spooky temple ruins with purple lights are never a good thing."

I have to agree with the lady on the spooky equals not good. Also, since this isn't some trendy Holo-series, I vote we lead with shooting and leave the expositional monologs for when the smoke clears.

ChiHiRu stands there a moment. Then he seems to spins in place a a few time. Toward the collapsed doorway, toward the exit, toward the corridor leading to the purple light and back again toward the group. During that, one of his tentacle wraps solidly around his hunting rifle and another one softly around the handle.

Finally, all his tentacles waves slightly up and down like if receiving a sudden gust of wind and ChiHiRu just stand there patiently gun at the ready.

"Common we are not characters of some retro fiction novel. Lets check that purple light"
