Hi everyone,
Just a quick post to say hello.
I'm currently in the character creation process, I hope I'll be able to get everything ready sometime tomorrow so we can start this for real.

I settled for a gnome wizard. Still working on the background.

I'm glad I could join this group :)

Just a heads up I will have the GeneralET's character join you all he was a bit delayed -- I will figure out a why once I see the character info a bit more -- but perhaps he drank a bit too much last night ;)

Keep in mind that instead of just standing there and talking with her you can ask her to accompany you as you need to check into the garrison

Sorry about that everyone. I was on a family vacation last week that didn’t allow me to post as expected and this storm in the Houston area has made this week worse until now. Shall I jump in at the market or garrison?

You can wander up late as perhaps you had to gather your stuff prior to joining everyone as some of it got semi-misplaced -- glad to you you have returned to us -- and hope the whether in your region does not affect you to badly

Okay not sure if this affects anyone in this game but I have updated all the Backgrounds associated with any that a player has taken thus far so if yours has not been addressed as of yet it should be and you might want to take a look.

Also for Unarmed Combat I have update that in the Weapons Table but to sum it up
.... Simple Weapons version (which everyone has regardless of class) has Finesse and does 1d3-1 plus Dex/Str Mod
.... Martial Weapons version (folks you have taken or have all Martial Weapons) has Finesse and does 1d4 plus Dex/Str Mod

The Tavern Brawler Feat simply upgrades a Simple Weapons version to the Martial Weapons version and I may look into a Feat to augment the Martial Weapon version if any becomes interested in such.

Okay due to recent events it has come to light that the price for magic item consumables is inconsistent and as such I am applying a consistency aspect to them so that I can more easily calculate their values and this can give you all a means of getting an idea of what a magic item might be worth.

First : Spell Level of the Effect x 100gp
Second : Casting Level of the Effect if not equal to Spell Level an additional +50gp per level
Third : Consumables cost half as much

For instance a Healing Potion cast at 3rd level would cost as follows
1st Level Spell Effect -- 100gp
3rd Level Casing ------- +50gp x2
Consumable Magic Item -- (100gp +100gp) / 2 = 100gp

Note this currently only applies to Spell Effect Levels from 1st through 3rd -- upon entering 4th and above I have to refactor this in order to make sure those magic items get the appropriate costing structure. I will be trying to make a list of the magic item consumables that are not Scrolls and pricing them out -- however if anyone wants to lend a hand please do as that would just speed things up.

Also if you did purchase a Scroll at the 100gp -- you can use the 50gp refund for another scroll or you can apply it some other magic consumable if you like -- in short you get the refund but you must use it or lose it as previous

I was looking through the house rules section and noticed divine smite in the spell adjustment list which I didn't notice before. Is that the same Divine Smite I get as a class feature?

Yes that is the Spell you invoke when you use that 2nd level Paladin ability -- it was toned down a smidge to bring it alignment with other first level spells but its duration was extended also in order to bring it into alignment with other first level spells.

Basically I looked at the ability and said why are we breaking consistency and creating an ability that was nearly useless and definitely not on par with any of the other 1st level spells which it seemed to reflect. So now you can expend a spell slot for that spell which you always know that requires Verbal component and your Holy Symbol. Like saying, "PatronName help me to smite thine enemies." or something to that effect.

Thus I feel this ability is now balanced with other features that are of a similar nature without creating some weird mechanic that is anomalous to the rest of the system.

Ok, thanks. That makes sense, I see that you balanced it with less damage over more time. I will fix that part of my character sheet when I get the chance.
