Well taking into the fact that nearly every individual within the Forgotten Realms has a favored patron (and sometimes more than one) most, that can afford to, carry or wear an appropriate holy symbol. That aside no you are not required to wear one but one with as tortured of a background as you have I would imagine they would carry at least one if not more than one.

Further it is your Religion knowledge that is helping you understand your current haunting and eventually research will unearth perhaps the means, most likely divine in nature, to remove said haunting.

Makes sense. I will come up with something.

Do not feel you have to do that on your own -- we can discuss things and come up with a concept that ties it more firmly into the world -- I believe in interacting with my players during creation to help them make a more 3-D oriented character.

Yeah if you have any ideas I could consider that’d be great.

Well I work best by hearing the players ideas and then giving options and such

So I actually just noticed that between Human and Haunted One, I should have four language options, one being an exotic language. I also just saw the note you had about using a language option to know how to read/write a language.

I was thinking Common, Read/Write Common (utilized in my studies at the monastery), dwarven (just picked this at random, maybe taught to me by a dwarven monk), and then have my exotic language be known only by you. You could use it as a plot device, Amos being able to understand an exotic language that he never actually studied.

As far as a patron goes, maybe Illmater or something similar. Amos would maybe be drawn to him as he feels afflicted with this mental "sickness" that he must endure until he can find relief.

Although, maybe Common wouldn't necessarily be the choice of language used for the texts that Amos would have studied. Maybe the ability to read/write dwarven instead?

Also for you background instead of taking a Language you can take a Tool Proficiency -- I think I suggested that you take Cook Tools

So with your ideas I think Common/Script and some Exotic Language based on your affliction sounds good along with the Cook Tools to cover those vegan recipes ;)

The Student of War feature from Battlemaster gave me proficiency with the chef's tools, I believe. I had forgotten to put it on my sheet in the first place but it's there now.

Ah well yeah you can use that one so why not take maybe Herbalist Tools or Apothecary Tools or maybe another set of Tools that would seem like something more inline with your background unless you want to take a darker language in pursuit of understanding your issue but then you might only want the Script of that language than knowing how to speak it

Hmm. Herbalist proficiency would fit well. I think I will take your advice and do that. So Common/Script and then herbalist tools proficiency. Did you care for the idea to have my exotic language be unknown to me to start or should I just pick something now?

Oh I have already picked your exotic language it is what the haunter speaks ;)
