Hello All!
I have been toying around with an idea for this mini-campaign for a while now, and want to see if there's any interest in playing in it! I'm gonna try not to make this post too long! :)
-D&D 5e
-Homebrew World (using Dawn War Pantheon)

~Adventure Overview~

The underground city of Brawnspark is on the brink of civil war and utter destruction. The sudden influx of thousands of refugees from the ancient duergar city of Dhor Thorum, "The City of Fossils", have run the city's previously-plentiful resources dry. Increasingly dangerous and strange crazed beasts, monstrosities, and creatures have repeatedly attacked and twice now have broke through the southern gate, threatening to ravage the city streets. As the city deals with overpopulation and security threats, people mysteriously disappear nearly every day. The city has never been more on edge; taverns are worrying about going out of business, and the fumbling of a barrel in the street is enough to set everyone who heard it into a tense standoff that has at least once broken out into violence.

You are the children of Adrik Durthane and Oskar Durthane-Hopehammer, of House Durthane, one of the four main Noble Houses of Brawnspark. House Durthane has monopoly over nearly all smithing and weapon/armor crafting within the city. Your father, Adrik, runs the city's largest forge, the Durthane Titanforge, and eagerly hopes his children follow in his footsteps of becoming a master blacksmith and beginning artificer.

The sudden death of your dad, Oskar, sets this adventure in motion. His death is officially ruled as a freak accident, but your father, Adrik, believes the details don't quite add up.

This adventure will be somewhat of a sandbox, explore your hometown to solve mysteries and deescalate the rising tensions, or delve into the ruined chaos that has become of Dhor Thorum to put an end to the constant barrage of attacks and disappearances, the options are yours!

~Character Creation~

Note: since you will be playing as siblings, you must be open to working with others for your backstory, at least deciding how good of a relationship you had with the other player characters growing up and what might've come from that. I greatly appreciate deep backstories, because that gives me more material to integrate your character into the world! I will provide more background information for Brawnspark and the surrounding world when you enter the game, but at the very least, you should keep in mind when creating your character the following questions:
---Were you born of a surrogate or adopted? If you were adopted, what happened to your biological parents?
---How do you feel about being born/adopted into noble blood?
---How do you feel about carrying on the Durthane family tradition, masterfully smithing and smelting weapons and armor?
---If you didn’t follow in your father's footsteps, what did you do?
---Have you lived in Brawnspark your whole life or have you traveled, and if so, why and where to?
---What's one potential family secret you may have learned? And how did you learn it?

~Other Info~

--Level 8 (with potential for level-ups)
--Most races will be available (including monster races, cuz most aren't inherently evil, smelly, or warlike in this setting)
(goblins, drow, and gnolls are just as likely to be noble soldiers and slavers as humans, elves, and dwarves)
--All official classes and subclasses will be available, including Tasha's, and I will work with you to integrate it into the world if not already
(No Homebrew or UA)
(Also available is the Critical Role Blood Hunter, but there is specific lore for that)
(ALSO, I have some approved homebrew fixes for things I personally find disappointing, like the Monk Way of the Four Elements and Nature Cleric, and Sorcerer and Ranger spells for all the subclasses)
--Customize Your Origin is allowed and encouraged! (Especially for ability scores)
--No evil characters

This will not be first-come-first serve, instead PM me your basic idea of a character, answering a few of the questions above. Ideally looking for 3-4 players.

I'm trying to reduce my number of games, otherwise I'd be interested.

Aquafina is a new member to the site, but I've been in a game with him since he joined in November and he's a regular poster.

I like to try that with a male ranger (hunter) that had been away recently returned just a week before his fathers death.

Hello everyone! Unfortunately, one of the players' account has become inactive without much warning. I am opening this game back up for one more person. (I have been relatively picky for this game so please please do not take it personally if you express interest and I do not choose you!)

The game is already in motion, well into the second Chapter, but I will help you catch up quickly! People new to GP and/or D&D are welcome, just be aware that the characters are level 8, which is a pretty high place to jump in at with no prior knowledge of the system.

You can express interest here or in a PM, and I look forward to hearing from you! :)
