Come one, come all! I've been running a homebrew system for about 2 years and I'm really liking it. It's supposed to be system-agnositc, though, and we're in a Supernatural Western.

So I'm looking for beta-testers for different settings, just to make sure I have a good mix of structure and freestyle.

If you are interested in a short-run game (one mission, day, battle, etc.), let me know. You can also join here, and the playbook will be brushed up and posted by 19 March 2021 at the latest.

Thanks!

I'd be willing to check it out.

It's a cool system (I've been in the extended test game) and recommend it.

I always love to playtest new games and I'd be interested in playing with you again. I'm not interested in Western but most anything else, I'd be up for.

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Q!

And yeah, Bowl, the whole idea is that I want to see this apply to something other than a Western.

Then I'm definitely interested
Mar 17, 2021 5:22 pm
Can you offer some details on how the system works?

I might be interested. Like Windyridge, I also want to know some of the deets.

I'm also in that playtest group, and it's a pretty fun simple system.

I'd be interested in helping to test it out.

I'd be interested in details!

Thanks, K!

So, the abilities are set on a scale. Like, Book Smarts and Street Smarts. Both intelligence, but different ideas. If I'm a college professor, maybe my score is a 3 on a d8. If I'm trying to remember academic knowledge, I succeed on anything 3 and higher. But if you want to ask me the best source for scalped concert tickets, I'm only successful on a 2 or a 1.

The Western crew has been a big help in tinkering with combat, too. Right now it really boils down to "did you succeed? Roll that die again for damage." Meaning in one round, attacker and defender might both succeed in some way. That's where the storytelling comes in.

There are ways to get extra rolls, change scores, etc, but that's the gist of it.

Sounds pretty simple. And probably Lasers & Feelings inspired, just a bit more complex. Very interesting

I'll like to try, specially since it is a short-run game (I'm getting into too many again!)

Same 😄 People need to stop starting interesting games again

It's absolutely L&F inspired! I thought one scale got weird.

Sounds it'll be light on my game load, I'd like to try it.

To those of you who joined, information is posted! To those who are still intrigued, I have room for 3 more (since there are multiple one-shots). Here's the playbook if you're curious.

Thanks!

Also in the long game. It is a fun system. You shouldn't hesitate to try it!

I am delighted to say I've got enough folks to try 4 mini-settings. Thank you so much!
