If Thamior spent a point to change his Body score to 5, then at Milestone o his health is

Is it Body or Brute Force? What if Thamior had Fine-Motor score of 5?

So, the scale is Fine-Motor on one end, and Brute Force on the other. Brute Force is "roll low," so that score of 5 means that he's got the best chance of rolling well on Brute Force.

Fine-Motor is "roll high," so 5 is not a good score in that case. Since now on a d6 there's not much left.

It does mean that Fine-Motor characters lose Health in exchange for dexterity. That's Merla's example.

There's the saying "Per aspera ad astra", which I assume the title "Ad Astra" is based on. But there's also a German song called "Per Aspera ad Aspera" and I just can't stop singing that in my head every time I see that title 😄
